Gabriel

I do not know how to prepare while visiting witches coven, but I did pack a suitcase. Persefoni watched me as I grabbed my power bank along with my phone.

“What are you doing with that?” Persefoni asked, her lips stretched with a smile. “You honestly think you’re going to need that?”

I stared at the two objects in my hand, confused at which object is the topic of discussion. “I’m a business man Persefoni, I need my phone with me at all time.” I looked at her hand. “Where is your suitcase?”

“Outside.” She returned around and walked towards the entrance door. “I was talking about the power bank, you won’t need it over there.”

Dominic opened the car trunk and placed our bag in. “Why won’t I need it? I didn’t know witches have steady.” I teased. Her deep laughter vibrated throughout the car which made me smile. I miss this moment, moments that I make her smile.

“When I said you don’t need the power bank, I didn’t say that because there will steady light supply, I said that becaus

PersefoniFor a moment, I thought Canine was going to ignore what she saw earlier. I told her indirectly that I do not want to discuss the baby in the presence of these people, but she just had to ruin everything for me; now Gabe is never going to let me go.“Persefoni?” Gabe growled. “Say something.”Blinking rapidly, I tried not to glare at Canine. It will not only be rude to glare at a descendant of Morgana , it will be outright disastrous. “Can we do this later? In the absence of extra pairs of eyes.”He didn’t like it, not one bit but he let it go, for now. Grateful for his understanding, I focused on Canine. “What do you mean this prophecy isn’t about me but my child?” They exchanged glances, communicating silently. “Say something!” I snapped and Logan quickly grabbed my hand reminding me of my place.Sucking in deep breath, I willed myself to calm down. “I’m sorry for snapping at you, just that the tension and silence is killing me.”Gabe stared at Logan’s hand which is still h

  • Refrainment   Chapter 41

GabrielThere is a moment in everyone’s life we have to die. Death is something inevitable in the life of anything that eats, breath and reproduces. The most important thing that matters is the legacy we leave, the love we showered on people during our lifetime. These are what matters, necessary things that we have to do before we meet our end, so we’ll be missed, missed and remembered by many. I watched the priest with aloofness. This day reminds me of the day I buried Susan, and it’s not a memory that I want to remember right now. Sophia cried ugly tears beside me, while Gabby and Claire tried their best to console her. You heard me, Claire; somehow mom managed to invite her for the funeral despite my warnings. I felt someone’s hand grab mine. I stared at the ring unclad finger. She squeezed lightly, offering me comfort that I’ve decided not to agree that I need. Yes, he’s my father, but I haven’t been in a good relationship for many years, I only tried to fix things recently and

  • Refrainment   Chapter 1

Persefoni Staring up at the gigantic building before me, I prayed to the ancestors that today should be nice. This is my first time working in an establishment. I may have worked before in other places such as in the library, coffee shop, even as a maid but this one is the biggest so far. The young lady who interviewed me last week was indeed a very lovely lady with a lot of patience since I mistakenly knocked over her cup of coffee, which wetted some of her files. How I got accepted was beyond me although I planned on intervening had she given someone else the job.Taking in a deep breath, I walked into the building, giving a big smile to anybody who cares to look my way. I walked up to the secretary, introducing myself all over again since I did the same at the door to the security man standing outside. "Use the elevator to the 24th floor, ask for Miss Stevenson, she'll direct you on what to do" I gave her a small smile before walking towards the elevator. I walked in and presse

Gabriel Persefoni? Who the hell doesn't have last name? I guess I'll have to look into her myself. As I walked into her office which is connected to mine, I stared at her for few seconds before entering my office with the instruction that she should come in with me. She walked in and sat down on the empty seat adjacent to mine. I kept staring at her; there is something about her that doesn't settle well with me. "I believe Mrs. Claus already briefed you on your duties here right?" "Yes sir, she did" I know what I'm about to say might be considered personal, but fuck personal, nothing about my staff is personal for me as long as the work for me. "How come you don't have a last name?" She frowned at my question "Guess I was never given one" What the hell means she was never given one? Even people in foster homes have last names. I didn't want to prey so that it wouldn't look as if I have any interest in her or her family. So I opted for another question. "Did she tell you how I lik

  • Refrainment   Chapter 3

GabrielI got to work earlier than usual probably because the pills didn't do its work. I walked into my office and buried myself in some of the work that I couldn't finish yesterday. My phone rang and I already know who the caller is without even checking so I ignored it. A text came in few minutes after the ringing as expected so I opened it I miss you son... Just wanted to know how you are doing. Rachel was at the house yesterday, she extended her greetings... Call me if you can. I love youI deleted the text as usual without replying. If she misses me as she implies she knows exactly what to do.The door to my office opened and Persefoni walked in looking smart in her red dress and black heels. She smiled at me just as she dropped my cup of coffee on the table."Good morning sir"I stared at her in confusion "how did you know I was in the office already?"

  • Refrainment   Chapter 4

Persefoni Uin tec undestrec bloodemitaI kept repeating those words often and often, I can feel my ears and nose bleeding and I can feel the ancestors passing their message, a message that I do not know it's meaning thanks to my mistress and her attempt to suppress my magic."The doctor said your test came back clear, in order words, there is nothing wrong with you"Looking at an uncomfortable Mr. Washington, I felt bad for him. Bringing me to the hospital and staying with me the whole night when there is absolutely nothing wrong with me is kind of funny but touching. "I was bleeding through my nose and ears, how can they say there is nothing wrong with me?""I think you should direct your questions to them once they come to check you again""Am so sorry for keeping you away from your duties at the office"He stared at me as if he is trying to figure me out or trying

  • Refrainment   Chapter 5

GabrielI got to work a little bit late thanks to the new drugs prescribed to me by my doctor yesterday. I think the drug is very active since I over slept this morning. Taylor opened the door and I walked into the lobby ignoring anyone who greeted me. If I decide to respond to every greeting, then am going to spend all day in the lobby. I walked to my private elevator and it took me to the twenty forth floor.Just as I walked past the fax room, I heard her voice. 'Whats she doing here? Isn't she supposed to stay at home bed resting or something? I took a step forward to reprimand her for coming to work today but I stopped when I heard another voice"I haven't seen you after that day at the elevator?""I've been busy Alvera, you know... with work"Alvera? I can't remember that name. I guess that's what happens when you pay over two hundred staffs."Who you'd work under?" Alvera asked"Mr. Wash

  • Refrainment    Chapter 38

Persefoni This is insane. I know I shouldn’t carry on with this, but I can’t bear to disappoint Gabby. I would have carried on with this if Caro didn’t give me the best news of my life.I’m pregnant. I’m carrying an evidence of the love Gabe and I shared.Placing my hand on my stomach, I thought of how best to break the news to Gabby. She will surely to disappointed. I will too, if someone gave me such good hope, not to shatter it, I will be disappointed too.According to Caro, there is no way I’ll do this without harming myself and the baby, she went further to explain that maybe the prophecy wasn’t for me, but for my baby. Nevertheless, there is only one way to find out. I’ll have to pay the daughters of Morgana a visit, either today or tomorrow.Gabriel will be ecstatic about this baby, but I don’t know if I want to share this moment with him. I don’t even know if I can trust him again, especially when that bitch is still roaming round bf street of New York. Gabriel hurt me…he lit

  • Refrainment   Chapter 37

GabrielEverything sounds so crazy and surreal to me. Persefoni knows how much I love her, how much I need her, yet she's ready to sacrifice her life for a man who is paying for his sins. Rubbing my neck stiffly, I tried to get rid of the sudden ache but to no avail. Logan noticing just how hard this news is for me, he refilled my glass. "You are the only one who can talk her out of this Washington. She obviously doesn't listen to me anymore." I chuckled at his statement. "It's true." he argued. "I've been telling her to visit the daughters of Morgana since thy kingdom come, but she's yet to pay them a visit."Daughters of Morgana are bad news, Persefoni educated me on that. The only reason why she has to visit the daughters of Morgana is when she takes something she isn't suppose to consume. "Why did you insist on her paying them a visit?" a thought occurred to me. "Did she drink coffee?" Surely she cannot be that sucidial. He rolled his eyes at my question. "Persefoni hates coffe

  • Refrainment   Chapter 36

GabrielPersefoni has been troubled lately, and the fact the she has refused to tell me what's going on is really frustrating me. I watched her as she interacted with Gabby next to my father which only heightened my suspicion. Once upon a time, they weren't on talking terms, but it seems as if ever since I told Gabby about Persefoni's decision to heal our father, their friendship blossomed again. In conclusion, I don't think the idea of healing father is solely her decision, it seems someone else has been whispering to her. The door opened and my mum walked in with Claire, carrying a basket of fruit. I do not understand the reason why she's still hanging around. Yes, she apologized and I told her I'm over whatever happened in the past. Shouldn't she return to wherever she crawled out from? I glared at mum. What does she take me for? A fool? I totally understand the game she is playing, but if she pushes it too far, I'll be forced to take a decision that she won't like at all. "Ho

  • Refrainment   Chapter 35

PersefoniGabriel is getting worse. He's hardly at home, and the few hours that he decides to be at home, he's always on his phone. I've grown to ignore him, mostly because my new boss is killing me with extra work load. You heard me right. Gabriel finally bought Mr. Puna's company and Liam returned to his father company. According to him, his grandfather's company was on the verge of sinking anyways. He believes that there was nothing he would have done that will save it, but I think that's his own way of brushing up his ego. If that company was redemption, Gabriel wouldn't buy it for anything. I stared at the wall clock and considered calling Gabe. He's usually late, but never this late. The distant voice of Gabby took my mind off calling him for few minutes. Her footstep drew closer and closer until she appeared by the doorway. "I came to pick some clothes for Gabriel, he won't be coming home tonight."Panic freezed my blood. "Is everything okay? Why isn't he coming home tonight

  • Refrainment   Chapter 34

PersefoniI'm bleeding yet again. This time, I think I'm bleeding because of the stress. Gabby thinks I can heal her father of cancer. In all honesty, I wish I can, but I can't, the least I could do is to give him more time, slow the cancer growth and give him time to make peace with his family but Gabby has refused to believe me. She thinks I'm being stingy with my power. She thinks I do not want to heal him because of what he did to Gabriel, due to the fact, I'm her least favorite person. She doesn't take my calls and hardly says two words to me whenever she brings Vicky over to the house. Even Gabriel has noticed the tension between us and has questioned me few times on what was going on between Gabby and I, but I assured him that everything is absolutely fine. Don't get me started on Logan, he disappeared from the face of the earth after our last meeting. I wasn't expecting much from him, but the least he could do was to call me after dropping such silly news to me. Imagine al
