"This is my chance!", I thought. I snatched the sword from the guards hand and held my sharp blade to Prince Aven's neck. "Well... What are you waiting for", he spoke calmly. My hands began to shake with my eyesight becoming blured and overlapping voices filled the silence in my head. "Do it!", he yelled. I zoned out, Aven had grabbed my sword and laid on top of me. He slowly entangled his fingers into mine, looking at me with anger in his eyes. Then in one fast motion "Crack!" I let out a blood-curdling cry, as I felt all the pain in one broken finger. "Say you love me and maybe I'll stop". -Summary: Aven, Prince and Future king of a corrupt monarchy and society begins having a dream of a strange woman who must complete the prophecy of concieving the perfect heir. In Aven's eyes his country is perfect but in the eyes of woman who holds the entire fate of the country on her back (Letharia) it's pure evil. Aven is infatuated with her and seizes his opportunity to have her during one faithful encounter.

Poverty

Letharia's POV I ran past the sun-struck buildings with a gun in my left hand and a bag of food in the right. I looked past my shoulder to see one man chasing me until his very last breath. I grabbed my gun, turned around, and shot 3 rounds of bullets, each one hitting his chest. I stopped running; I then walked back, taking the camera from my back pocket, taking a picture of the man I killed, innocent or not. But no one is innocent in Xoria, not even the children; the kingdom has been corrupted for centuries, king after king, dictator after dictator. The rich kill the poor, and the poor kill those they get their hands on for revenge, or food. Crime runs rapidly through the streets, but who do the people blame? The King. I reshot the man for the last time to make sure he was dead. The shots echoed through the str

A Prophecy for the Hopless Romantic

Prince Aven’s POV __________________ “Well, Arlin I want your advice”. “What advice my lord?” “Would impregnating her be the smartest thing I’ve done in my whole life?” “I am not allowed to tell you your future, my lord”. “Yes, I know, I just needed your input since I'm still quite young”. “My Lord, your father, and your father’s father have had sons at the same age you are now, you should be fine”. “Very well then”. “My prince may you tell the council the dreams you’ve had so we may differentiate them from the prophecy”.

A Well-Planned Evening

Letharia’s POV ________________ The poor had gathered outside the television store windows, gathered around by guards to view the execution. If the poor couldn’t afford to go to the colosseum gaurds dragged them out of their homes to watch a dictator cut off the head of someone who had shed no blood, stealing for his family to survive. Sometimes it was a person who helped those captured girls who had turned into palace slaves to escape or someone who fed the occasional prisoners who criminals meant to die. That man wasn’t going to die today. I backed away from the crowd, sneaking into a dark alley, climbing onto the ladder, and onto the roof. I then descended another later onto the roof of an abandoned church, sneaking inside. I spotted Jessi by the stained glass windows. “I can’t believe we’re going to do this…” he mumbled, sound enough for me to hear. We st

Seduction and Surender

A man stared at me with wonder in his eyes that man was no other than King Nero. He unlocked the prison cell and ran up to me, he stood in front of me as I had a blank stare on my face. He grabbed my face, turning it side to side as if he were looking for something. "Tell me, are you the one responsible for this massacre?" I grabbed his hands, pulling them off my face. “Yes”, I answered.  “You rebels sicken me”, he gave me a repulsed look. “You sicken me as well, oh almighty King Nero”.   I bowed with disrespect. “You seem to be nothing like your mother, I’ve wasted my time here.” He turned his back to me”What did you do to her??” “Your mother? That’s a story

A Confortaional Meeting

Letharia’s POV _____________ I took a deep breath, and Aven was nowhere in the room to be found.  I looked in between my legs to see if he had left anything. I passed out after he gave me that syringe. He didn’t do anything to me, but why? After he was so eager to do so, he left me naked in his bed. I stood up and grabbed one of Aven’s shirts. I wouldn't say I liked his smell and the scent he left on his shirts of rich cologne. I wore one of his shorts. I opened his room door to see a flurry of servants going left and right along with guards outside the doors of the nobles, including Aven’s door. The guard bowed to me as he spotted me. “Hello my lady I am sir Galloway I must escort you to your stylist before your RMC council meeting.” I noticed all the stairways and long hallways and pictures of the kings along the palace walls. I was quite the entire ti

Weakness

Save my son! Why are you all just standing there!", Queen Eliza screamed frantically as I held a sharp blade to her son's neck.Nero crossed his arms, and the guards were mortified that a mere woman could do such a thing. The council members were still, and Aven chuckled."Wow darling, how impressive. But darling, listen. If I die, they die, your brother dies, your father dies, and the list goes on & on.""Screw you". I spoke."Well, what are you waiting for.... ", his voice was calmthen he screamed, "Do it"!The sword was shaking in my hands, and my head started to hurt. My vision becoming blurry. I zoned out hearing voices until Aven grabbed the sword from my hand and pushed me onto the ground. He threw the sword across the room and pinned me down with his body weight.I squirmed trying to set myself free. He starred at me with such anger in his eyes, the room silent. Aven started to entangle his fingers in mine slowly, then in one fast motion"Crack".

Down to the Gallows

"Th-That was my mistake-", Aven pulled away from me. Aven stared at me with blank eyes, I closed my eyes in fear he might hit me but instead I felt a tugging sensation on my lip. My head tilted slightly, by impulse I had kissed Aven back. I then felt his touch disappear, I opened my eyes to see Aven staring at me with his hands in his pockets "I will ask my Father to cancel the execution at once, do not leave this room". I sat there in shock, free from handcuffs, one kiss may earn me my freedom back, what could my whole body do? I somehow wondered if I may have accidentally put him in a trance, what if this was one of the powerful magicks my mother had possessed. I sat there looking around his room from my spot in the corner next to Aven's bed. I noticed how he had no photos of his Mother and Father, his room looked quite plain even I would decorate with newspaper scraps and collages. Aven only had one photo of a cat sitting on a woman's lap, I couldn't tell if it was his mo

Don't Shoot the Messenger

“Shouldn’t we do this on our honeymoon?”, I asked taking off my dress.  Aven scoffed, giving me a smirk, “Press your stomach against the bed, and I’ll do all the work.” I sat on his bed facing him. “What am I to you? A pretty trophy or a convenient sex toy”. Aven looked at me. “I have plenty of toys that I play with, but I want you right now.” “Why?” I raised a brow. He sighed. “No more questions lay on your stomach.” I took off my undergarments and showed Aven my bare breasts. “Isn’t that better than laying on my stomach?” “Much better,” he approached m

Disaster

Jessi's POV"That was a disaster," I spoke.I walked slightly behind Nero as he glanced at me. "Send a new messenger to order Letharia mandatory psychology testing."Nero had completely ignored every damn thing I've said. "Understood; where are we heading to?""Council Member Velis's chambers," he answered.  We had both suddenly become quiet, moments had passed by, and I finally decided to ask him "Nero."King Nero stopped in his tracks to look into my eyes. "You have my full attention." I cleared my throat "Illy, the woman who saved me from prison, I want her back." Nero scoffed, "Evander, never have I thought you wanted love instead of power."
