The Intruding Alpha.

“Help! Help!’’ I screamed to remind them of my imminent condition.

The one in the middle among the three men ran towards me with a super human strength. He unbundled me within seconds much to the dismay of the mob and their leader. How he managed to untie in a short limited amount of time remains baffling.

He carried me in his strong arms away from the flame.

“Don’t be scared. You will be fine. This is my home and nobody dares to mess around with me here,’’ he told me.

Only then did I saw his huge biceps and his sexy- hairy chest. So tempting to touch.

“His head is mine!’’ Shouted the mob’s leader. “How dare you intrude in my business? I will teach a lesson that you will never forget! Get his head!’’

At once the mob charged with rage towards our direction at the command of their leader to kills us.

“You are making a mistake you will regret.’’ He quickly dodged successfully, the first set of persons that advanced to attack, whilst carrying me in his arms.

As I watched the other two men transformed into two giant wolf-like creatures and stepped in to fight. It dawned at me, they could be werewolves. They engaged the angry mob in a fierce battle. They men from the mob where flung up or thrown out as if they were weightless and useless. While the fight raged on, the one who saved me began walking out of the premise with my body on his shoulders.

“Wait a minute! What about your friends? Are we leaving them to their own death?’’ I asked.

“Hahahaha! Those two can take of them all so, worry not my lady.”

Indeed, it was no surprise he gave such an answer. I could see how they handled the attackers like ants. I could hear the men they fought scream in pains. Slowly, we walked out of the scene. However, the tumult in the background could still be heard.

When I became sure that I was safe enough, did I remembered to ask him who he is?

“Thank you so much for saving my poor life. You said earlier on, the forest of Dengek is your home and nobody dares to mess with you here. May I please know who you are?”

“I guess you don’t need to ask that question because, you already know who I am ’’he stares hard at me this time with unkind eyes. “You know who I am, don’t you? Just say the name witch!”

He dropped me so hard on my feet to the floor. “Now you can walk on your legs.’’

At once, I became troubled at his sudden rude behavior. Just few minutes ago I thought I was in a very safe arms but no, it wasn’t. Instead, I had fallen into yet another predicament. My mind was messed up at that moment, as I tried to come up with a possible reason why he had intervened with his accomplices to save me.

“Walk!’’ He commanded. His eyes brightened with a flash of yellow light.

He dragged my arms in a bid to make me walk faster. He seemed to be in a hurry but, why?

I mellows my voice, “who are you please?’’

“You know who I am. Just say it out!” He affirmed.

“You are an alpha wolf,’’ I told him.

“Stop! Say no more witch. You are coming with me.”

“Why? Why should I come with you? What have I done to you? Did you save me so you could kill me by your own hands or do you intend to make me your prisoner?’’ My sobs and tears made it through. He watched me cry helplessly.

“If you think your tears will make me change my mind then, you are mistaken witch. I saved you for one purpose. And you fulfil that which I seek.”

“And what do you seek wolf?” I asked, having known my new value to him. My fears also lessened. But then, I thought, ‘what if, what he seeks is not something I’m able to fulfil? No! I must agree to anything he says so I could buy enough time to escape.’

“Something which I have long yearned for. Something I have craved to lay my hands on so I could make a difference and take back that which rightly belongs to me,’’ he let go of my arm but, not without pushing me forward for one last time as if I am his slave.

“Ouch!” I exclaimed in pains. “You can’t keep treating me like your slave if you want me to help you with whatever you are seeking for and by the way, why are you not being explicit in your explanation? I still don’t understand what you are talking about and certainly doesn’t know how to help you?’’

“The journey is still far.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means, this is not the right place to discuss,’’ he remained silent for a while before resuming again. “You need a detailed plan of what I want you to do for me.”

“If I may ask wolf, where in the hell are you taking me to?  You are making me to feel like I’m your hostage.”

“I can sense fear in every word you say witch. Well, I’m taking you to a place where you will not be burned on stake at least; instead, other death options will be available for you. Now, how about that? Am I not being kind enough to you? Huh?” He smiled.

I remained silent without saying a word back to him. I was still scared of my life and wouldn’t like to do anything to piss him off. Whatever mockery he makes to me tonight does not matter. If not for him I would have been burned to ashes by now. Therefore, somehow I felt grateful but, remained nervous about his plans. A plan I’m yet to find out.

“Who were those men and why did they prefer to burn your body on a stake when they could have sent you straight to hell with one cut or slice on your throat?’’

I cursed myself for I was powerless and couldn’t do anything other than to absorbed his unkind words and still give him the reply he wanted.

“They call themselves the Revolutionists.”

“And what about them huh?’’

“Like their name suggested, they declared war on witches and sorcerers after accusing them of several murders. The tall one I believe is Brady. He leads the movement sought to wipe off my kind. According to what I was told by Gia before her death at their hands, Brady allegedly lost his parents at a very young age to a witch. Now he has come back for revenge. That explains why he is so brutal to any one accused of being a witch.”

“That sounds pathetic! So you are actually paying for your crimes huh? I could have turned you in then. But, don’t worry I have a better plan for you,’’ the alpha wolf grinned to remind me how miserable my condition was before, he rescued me.

We walked until we were almost out from the forest perimeter when unexpectedly, we bumped into two dark figures standing in our way just about five meters apart. Because I was leading the way but, on his direction, I saw the dark figures first. The moonlight is our only source of illumination therefore, I could barely tell what or who they were. I stopped at once in frightened.

“Look at those figures!’’ I pointed one of my fingers at them. “What are they?”

“Are you scared witch? If I could save you from the mob who sought to have you killed, why should you be scared of just two men? Do you think I can’t handle them?’’

I quickly answered to his tune to avoid incurring the wrath of the alpha who had saved me in an exchange for something. “No sir! I know you can handle them perfectly,’’

“If you believe I can then, continue moving forward!’’

“Yes sir!’’ I began moving forward again. I looked backward few seconds later to see if the alpha is walking behind me but, reverse was the case. He hasn’t moved an inch away from where he stood previously.

“Keep going and never look back again!” He barked at me like a dog.”

I didn’t concur verbally to his order nevertheless, I walked on like a zombie irrespective of the possible danger in my front. ‘Why is he doing this? Not long ago, he saved me from the salvages and now he is letting me walk into harm’s way, all for what? Could this be the better plan he had for me?’ I asked myself, while getting closer to the danger that lays ahead.
