WENDY'S POV
I knocked gently on the door but got no response. The second knock was louder and this time, a gruff, 'Come in,' sounded from the inside. I opened the door and stepped in. “This package—” Before the words could leave my mouth fully, I felt him pounce on me, dragging me towards the bed and trying to tear my clothes off at the same time. “What are you doing?! Let me go!” I struggled to pull myself free from him, but it was all in vain. His grip was too tight, holding me against him strongly. “Help!” I screamed, hoping, wishing, that anyone would hear me and come to my rescue. “Hel—!” He suddenly pressed his palm against my mouth, cutting the word shut. “Come on now, baby,” he said, breathing against my mouth as he shoved me to the bed. “Be calm and I promise to be gentle.” “Let me go! Get your hands off me! Let me go!” I yelled, pushing against him furiously, but instead of releasing me, he slobbered kisses all over my face and I felt as if a worm was crawling on my skin. Suddenly, the door flew open, and facing me, looking at us was my mate — his face a cross between murderous rage and crippling shock. I quickly pushed Rick away from me and rushed towards my mate. Before I could get to him, however, he stepped backward. “So it's true? So this is really who you are?! You've been cheating on me all this while?” “No, George, listen—” “How dare you defile our relationship and the position you have as Luna of this pack?!” “No—” “I should have listened to my family from the beginning. Should have listened when they told me you were nothing but filth, nothing but a gold digger out for what she can get from anyone!” “George, what are you saying?! I was being assaulted! He tried to rape me! Why can't you see that?!” “You filthy liar,” he growled. yeah “STOP!” Rick suddenly yelled, and then he asked me. “Who the hell is he?!” Without waiting for a response, he turned to George. “Who the hell are you? And how dare you break into my fun time with my girlfriend?!” “What?!” I asked, stunned. “What the hell are you saying?! Don't listen to him, George! Don't listen to him! I swear to you on the Moon Goddess’s name that he was trying to assault me! I swear to you!” Before he could respond, the door opened again and Queen Rosina, George's stepmother, and Brittany, my half-sister, came in. “What's going on here?” asked Queen Rosina. Without taking his eyes off me, George replied, “You were right, Mother. She is nothing but a traitor and a liar. I caught them both on the bed.” The Queen took one long look at Rick's half-naked form and my flushed face and shared a look with my sister. “Oh, I'm sorry that you're going through this, Alpha George,” spoke Brittany, her voice pitiful and sympathetic. “We've been trying to tell you for a while now, but you just wouldn't listen to us.” “That's right, George,” added Queen Rosina, “It's a pain you couldn't see through her charade, but I'm glad that it's over now.” “I am not a cheat!” I repeated. The Queen smirked. “You can tell yourself as much lies as you want, dear. If you weren't a cheat, what were you doing here, hmm? A stranger you barely know.” I stared at her, stunned beyond words. “Wh—what are you talking about?” I turned to the queen and picked up the box on the floor — the box I had come to drop off for Rick — and extended it to her. “But you were the one who asked me to drop this off to him. You sent me.” She flared up immediately. “Why trying to pull me into your web of lies?! How dare you make up stories against me, just so you can get yourself free from your treachery and deceit?!” “I am not lying!” I threw it back at her just as Brittany pulled the box away from my hand and tore it open. With a malicious and devilish smile, she raised the content for all to see. My heart dropped into my stomach as I saw it. It was a two-piece lingerie set. The bra cups were barely there, and the panties were utterly see-through. At the look on Queen Rosina's face, I immediately knew this was all planned. It was a set-up. I knew that Queen Rosina didn't approve of my union with George, but I didn't know it could get to this extent. “George, I swear to you. I didn't put that there.” Rick spoke up, “Come off it, babe. The secret is out. No need to pretend. You did good though. You bought the exact thing I told you to buy.” “Shut up!” I yelled through the tears streaming down my face and turned to George, ignoring the others. I wanted George to believe me. He was all that mattered. “George, please, believe me. I—” “Oh, shut up, girl,” cut in the Queen. “Believe you? Do you want him to believe you? If you weren't having an affair, why would you come into another man's room with something so indecent?” She asked. I turned to my sister, my heart squeezed with pain but I knew she could help me out. “Brittany, you were there, right? You were there when the queen sent me to give the package to Rick, right?” I asked, hopefully, knowing her words would put everything straight, but to my utter horror, she shook her head, a sad and depressed look on her face. “No. No, Wendy, I can't do this anymore. I can't keep lying and covering up for you. I'm tired of supporting your lies.” “What?” I barked like a mad woman, not wanting to believe my ears. “Brittany, what are you saying?!” “That you've been a cheat all this while,” said my stepsister with a tone of finality. “What were you planning to do, Wendy?” the queen asked callously. “Were you planning to perform a strip-tease for him while your mate was a few feet away in another room?” “George, please don't listen to them!” I reached for my mate's hands tearfully but he jerked them away from them. Without another word, he turned his back to me and left the room.WENDY'S POVAs the door shut behind me, I immediately turned to Queen Rosina, tears streaming out of my eyes.“You have to go after him! You have to tell him the truth! Tell him what really happened, please! I beg you!”She only smirked. “Come off it, girl. You're not fooling anybody with your drama and antics. Everyone knows who you are now. You can't hide anymore.”Desperate, I turned to Brittany. “Brittany, don't do this, please. You were there—”“Nope,” my step-sister said, shaking her head. “Keep me out of your dramas, Wendy.”“My drama?! Brittany, please. You have to tell the truth! Why are you doing this? Why?! What have I ever done to you?!”“Done to me? Oh, please, shut up! Don't try and pretend as if you're a saint. Your time is up here.”I clutched at the end of her skirt. “Brittany, stop this madness!”“I have no idea what you're talking about! Let go of me!”With that, she jerked herself free and left the room with the queen.Rick sneered at me. “Aren't you a pathetic sig
WENDY’S POVHe stopped mid-sentence and the silence in the room seemed to swallow us both.“What did you just say?” He asked.I repeated the words, this time, a little bit firmer. “I'm pregnant with your child.”The silence stretched on for a minute more, before,“Lies!” erupted the Queen. “Don't believe her, George! This is another one of her lies to sway things in her favor! Don't listen to her! She's not pregnant!”“It's true, Alpha George,” said my devil of a half-sister. “She isn't pregnant. She's just trying to sway you. Please don't believe her.”“And even if you were pregnant,” added the queen. “We all know it couldn't possibly be for George, you whore.”Her words swung deep, but I gave my husband instead, gazing into his eyes for a glimpse of the man I once knew.I whispered again, gently and with tears this time, “I'm carrying your child, George. I'm pregnant. For you.”For a minute, it seemed it was just George and I in the room, until Queen Rosina broke the silence. “Don
WENDY POV“No...” I whispered, my throat tight, my voice shaking. “No... this can’t be happening,” I shook my head. “This can't be happening. You can't say that,” I said, my voice a calm desperation. “You need to give me my baby. Now!”The nurse shook her head still. “I'm sorry, ma'am.”No. She was lying. I had felt the kicks, the life inside me. How could it just be gone?“No! I don't believe you! Give me my baby!”I tried to sit up, but something pulled me back— the IV drip. I grab at it, yanking, trying to free myself. “Let me go! I need to see my baby!” The words come out in a scream, my hands fumbling desperately. I have to get out of here. I have to hold my baby. They’re wrong. They’re all wrong.“Please calm down,” the nurse rushes towards me, pressing an unseen button that sends other nurses rushing in. Together, they held me down.“Look at me! Look at me! You need to calm down!”“I can’t calm down! I need my baby!” I dissolved into a puddle of tears. “I just want my baby.
WENDY'S POV“Umm,” the lawyer began before pausing to clear his throat. He then continued, “Ma'am, I suggest you just sign these papers and let's get this over with. It won't take you more than a minute.”My voice was firm and strong, so unwilling and unyielding that it felt like someone else was speaking through me. “And I said I do not want to sign these papers. Go back to your Alpha and tell him that. If he has any other thing to say or do, let him come to me directly. Until then, don't approach me again.”He tried one more time. “Please, try to see reason here. Just sign it.”I didn't back down, didn't flinch as I said, “Leave. Now.”The lawyer sighed and gathered the papers together back into his briefcase. “I see you still need sometime to yourself after the traumatic event that has happened. It's understandable. You're not fully in your right state of mind. I'll come back another time.”Bastard, I seethed angrily, I would kill him the next time he sets his foot in this room.As
BRITTANY'S POVI popped the champagne cork, and Queen Rosina let out a delighted squeal. We were alone in the palace, freely sharing our joy and happiness with what had happened. We had achieved what we set out to do – get rid of Wendy.“To us,” Queen Rosina said, raising her glass. “To our perfect plan,”I clinked my glass against hers, taking a sip of the bubbly liquid. It was sweet, just like our victory.“Finally,” I murmured. Queen Rosina’s lips curled into a satisfied smirk. “That Wendy bitch is out of the way, as she should’ve been from the start.” Wendy. The name alone was enough to send a ripple of resentment through me. For years, I had stood by, forced to watch her take everything that should have been mine. And for what? Because George had some stupid attachment to his childhood sweetheart? It was pathetic. “She never belonged here,” I said, my voice sharp and bitter. “The pack didn’t want her, the council didn’t respect her, and George…” I paused, swallowing the b
George’s PovI sat at my desk, staring at the divorce papers in front of me with barely contained anger. The lawyer I had sent to Wendy with the papers had brought them back earlier, saying she refused to sign them. That act of defiance from her pissed me off more than anything. I wanted to move on. I wanted the closure these divorce papers would bring and how dare she deny me that? She was the one who had thrown what we had away to the dogs, so she had no right to deny me my wish. The lawyer said she had been on the verge of signing it before she abruptly changed her mind. Why? What had made her change her mind? Then I thought about the alimony I had offered her. Was it too small? Was that why she was being so stubborn? Because she wanted more?I gritted my teeth in anger. What this meant was that she had only been with me for the money. She had only been acting like a loving wife because of the money she could get from me. There was never any love for me on her part. Every emotio
Chapter 8George’s POV“I have to save her!” I screamed as I renewed my efforts to get to the car. “I have to save my wife!”I threw off my Beta running towards the car. Despite the yelling and screaming coming from the passerby, I paid them deaf ears. I couldn't let her die,she can’t die because it will be on my conscience. She betrayed me and maybe I do hate her, but that doesn't mean she gets to leave me in this world. Tears were already streaming down my face. Few meters away from the car, that’s when I heard a yell. “The car’s fuel is leaking, you can't go near it because it would blow.” I didn't stop, I have to save my woman. I took another step and the car exploded, the explosion throwing me back. I hit my back on the floor hard and I swear I could hear a bone crack. Tears streamed down my face, blurring my vision. I could see the fire department trying to put out the fire, people gathering around me, whispering in hushed voices. “No!” I whispered. Somewhere in my memory,
ALPHA GEORGE’S POVThankfully, my legs weren't damaged pretty badly and I could still use them I just had to go through surgery and I'll be fine. While being prepped, I took out the hair bun from my pockets and slipping it on my wrist.I stared at the ribbon, memories of each time i helped her fix it on her hair. I smiled on remembering one of our moments togetherFLASHBACKI had just returned from a pack meeting, I wasn't the Alpha then. The elders were still testing me to see if I was fit for the role. I came back and tired and I didn't meet her at the door step as usual. I got worried and ran upstairs to our room to look for her, only to hear her grumbling at something.I knocked gently on the door"What!" She answered, sounding frustrated. I smiled, if she knew I was the one, she would freak and apologize which I hated by the way. We were mated to each other, I didn't want her apologizing on every chance she got.I entered and she gasped in shock."I didn't know you were the one."
Chapter 154.George's POV. She hung the call before I could say Jack.I picked my car key before I stormed out of my office, gaining attention from the staff, especially my secretary who was , at that time, in the office with me.The drive to the Peak Hotel felt longer because of the packed road. My hands tightened around the steering wheel as I drove through the traffic, my mind running with different thoughts. Wendy already knew. Of course, she knew. Nico and the others , I should have known they wouldn't be able to keep up the act for long."Shit," I muttered under my breath as I pulled into the hotel's driveway. The valet approached, but I waved him off and parked the car myself. My heart was hammering as I stepped into the hard floor of the hotel, the soft hum of music didn't help with the situation, I just felt sick to my stomach.Conference room A2B. I knew exactly where it was.I spotted her the moment I pushed the door open. Wendy stood at the window, arms crossed, her b
Wendy's POV.I stood in front of Peak Hotel, taking my time to admire the luxurious building while the valet left to park my car. When he returned the keys to me, I exhaled sharply before I entered the hotel.Conference room A2B. I really hope I get it in the nick of time.Minutes later, which is still in my favor, I was standing behind the mahogany door, inhaling and exhaling.I hated to admit how nervous I was. And anyone in this situation will probably be more nervous than I am. The investors are not just investors, they are big in the industry. For them to have picked my business to invest in, I must not mess anything up. And God help me with that.I wondered why they're not public, but I knew they couldn't care less.Hesitantly, I got myself to knock.“Come in,” a timbre voice said. I opened the door. a short gasp fell out of my mouth. The first thing that took my breath was the floor-to-ceiling windows that were as clear as air.In the middle of the room sat a long ebony table g
Wendy's POV.I was going to leave. But I have to close an important deal, before I hand over my business to an expert.Yes, I was planning to leave it all and go, and that's how my meek revenge plan went.I will leave till I hear the news, that maybe one of them is out of the way – either in prison or…who knows. That's how weak I am, I'm not taking revenge, am running from revenge, hoping someone will take it for me.I was deep in my thoughts when someone interrupted me.“Berlin,” I called.I eyed the man in front of me. He was in a corporate wear of suit pants and ironed out shirt.“Any news?” I asked, knowing he wouldn't be here if there was no news.He nodded. I gestured for him to continue.“Apparently Alpha George had a blow match with Beta Edward,” he reported.Immediately my eyes squeezed shut as I took in the information.“Was anyone hurt?” I pushed further.“The angle it was taken from showed it vividly,” he said as he showed me the picture.I zoomed in on it and my heart s
Wendy's POV.My fingers traced the thick rim of the wine glass while I waited for him in the same grand restaurant I have always wanted to go.I knew he would want an explanation. Or maybe just something to let him know he's in his right senses. And he is, but I'm not.As my focus drifted , I let George linger in my mind – his touch, his warmth…everything.A sharp knock on the table pulled me from my thoughts.George appeared with a wide smile but I maintained a straight face. He looked dejected at that instance and of course, I beat myself up for it.“Why did you leave? – I thought you were ready to stay,” he finally said after a long, uncomfortable moment of silence.“It was just a fling and you know that,” I said almost immediately, like I had practiced my response. I bit my inner cheeks. I don't want to sound harsh to him.“Really? But I'm not ready to call anything a fling with you,” he said, his face dripping with determination.I sucked in. How am I going to make it clear to h
Chapter 150.Wendy's POV. The golden light filtered into the bedroom, directly into my eyes.My eyes immediately squinted as they made contact with the streaks of sunlight. I turned over to the other side and I saw him, still sound asleep. The events of the previous day played in my head like a perfectly working CD, and a blush crept up my face.I was still naked, given that I was undressed after the warm but not near innocent bath.It was the best sex I have ever had, with George of course because we both wanted to savor the moment and take everything it has to offer. To be honest, i didn't rethink or regret my decision as at yesterday. But now that I'm awake and he's not, I feel I need a moment to know what's next. It's definitely a topic we would still discuss, and I don't think I'm ready to make our ‘fling’ more than that. All I want in my life for now is for my business to thrive. I know it's already among the top three, but still I want more.Whitney Decodes must be a worldwi
Chapter 149.Wendy's POV.He was taking too much time outside with Brittany.I didn't tell him it was Brittany because I was scared to see his reaction. What if he didn't look as angry as I wanted him to be?.When he opened the front door, I turned back from the staircase.I loathed to admit but yes, I was eavesdropping. And I heard everything. The point where Brittany called me a girl to the point he defended me, saying I'm the woman he loves.Still, I was feeling both emotions. Jealousy and happiness.Jealousy that Brittany was standing in his front and I know she won't keep her hands to herself. And happiness that he finally spelt it out to her how important he said I am to him.As he left his final words and turned to enter, I quickly ran into hiding. He sat on the couch, fuming.I gently walked towards him, “You're fuming,” I said behind him and he immediately looked back.Terror was written on his face and he walked to the back of the chair where I was.“You’re here,” he said an
Chapter 148.Wendy's POV.He immediately caught me, and we found ourselves in an awkward position. His knees were bent to support mine and his arms wrapped around my shoulder - my back to be precise.Only that I can't afford to be precise at this moment. My chest kept threatening to erupt and I could feel his calculated breathings.Everything was not normal, and the casual air seemed to be replaced with tension - sexual tension. After what seemed like eternity, he detached his arms slowly and carefully, but as I was about steadying myself, his hands slip and I fell butts flat on the floor.“Fuck, are you okay?” he exclaimed immediately crouching down to my level. He touched my arm in a bid to apologize but I shook under his touch which made him retract immediately.“I'm sorry,” he said, standing up from the floor. He reached out his hand and I took it hesitantly. I dusted my clothes immediately and I was back on my feet.“It was a mistake, I know,” I said and he nodded, pinching his f
Chapter 147.George's POV.My words seem to have gotten to her. She turned back on heels and crashed right into the cushion next to my bed with a loud thud. It's not the exact kind of close I want but at least I get to catch the whiff of her berry cologne and I could hear her soft sighs.I turned to sleep in a way that I could see her every movement. Her head was thrown back, her hair spreading around the neck of the cushion. She was tired. I made her tired and I can't help but beat myself up for it.“I'm here now…and you're not sleeping,” she said coldly without looking at me and I immediately went wide eyed.I pretended like I shifted, “I'm sleeping,” I said in a fake snore.“Right? I guess you can stare at me while you're sleeping now,” she said, finally looking at me.For a moment I forgot the question, focusing on her brown eyeballs on me. She stared deeply like she was looking into my soul and my chest did a backflip. She blinked her eyes when she realized she was staring inte
Chapter 146.Wendy's POV.One second George was standing tall , the next his knees buckled underneath him.“George,” I shouted running towards him as he collapsed on the cold floor.Gasps tore across the room and everywhere scattered in confusion, the elders murmured among themselves, Edward took a step back.I didn't have time to look at his expressions as I was expecting help from them but his smirk was replaced with confusion.I dropped to my knees beside George, I carried his head in my palms and I felt his burning temperature. His breathing was ragged, and his heartbeat hollow.“George,” I lowered to whisper in his ear, “Come on, open your eyes,” I said but I got no response, just a fragile attempt of raising his finger. He looked so weak. He shouldn't have shown up in this state – it was obvious he was pushing himself and it has taken a toll on him.“Step back,” Edward's voice tore the silence.“Don't you dare come closer,” I glared at him and he stopped just at my front. He sm
