Casually pointing to a few items, I said to the sales associate, "Wrap everything up except for these."

Then, I met Denise’s gaze and smiled. "Miss Walsh, since you're so wealthy, this should be a piece of cake for you, right?"

Denise clearly hadn’t expected me to be so shameless. Her face paled as she stared at me, but pride forced her to swallow her anger and head to the counter to pay.

After taking a moment to compose herself, she calmly entered her PIN.

But the next second, the sales associate politely said, "I’m sorry, miss, but your card has been frozen."

Denise's face flashed with shock, quickly turning bright red.

"That’s impossible. Try it again!" she insisted.

The associate swiped the card over and over, but her expression grew more uncomfortable with each attempt.

Her subtle, disdainful glances felt like invisible slaps across Denise’s face.
