CHAPTER THREE

“Oh Shit!”

Ayra’s heart raced as her gaze locked onto the menacing creature before her.

The hair on the nape of her neck stood up in fright, the lion opened it's wide mouth and roared loudly at her making her narrow her eyes, the rotten smell of flesh and blood wafting out of it's mouth filled her nose.

Ayra clenched her fists with gritted teeth widening her legs, getting ready to flee from the mindless animal.

The lion's sturdy legs and arms flexed, getting ready to pounce at her.

Just when she thought that she had escaped from the rogues that were going after her, she had fallen into another problem, this time a wild animal who couldn't understand human speech.

“Can you please leave me alone? I'm pretty much exhausted” Ayra said in a pleading tone but as expected, the wild animal just growled at her before pouncing at her like she was a piece of rubber ball.

“Today is my unlucky day” Ayra’s loud voice rang in the forest and then she took off.

As a rogue, this was what her life consisted of, being chased after, hunting for food and hiding from natural elements like rain and the rest of them.

It wasn't a life for the weak. If someone told Ayra that she would be a rogue wolf then she wouldn't believe it.

Just a year ago, she was living in her own pack until her life turned upside down, though her life in the pack wasn't great but at least she had a roof over her head and a place to call home.

Ayra was fast but she wasn't faster than the Lion, the king of the jungle brought her down with one pull from his paws.

Ayra fell on the forest ground with a dull thud and a shrill scream escaping from her lips.

Before, the feel of the grass grazing on her skin was welcomed and enjoyable but now, it was like a whiplash on her fragile skin, bruises appeared on her skin as blood seeped out of the broken part.

The smell of blood made the Lion lust more for Ayra’s flesh and he growled louder, with mouth wide opened, he pounced towards Ayra's neck, going directly for the kill.

Sensing the serious danger that was headed her way, Ayra shifted instantly into her black and white wolf, making the lion confused.

The confused beast narrowed it's slit brown eyes, wondering where it's prey had disappeared to.

Ayra used that opportunity to jump on her four paws and growled warningly at the lion.

When the lion saw that its prey had changed from a weak defenseless worm into a creature which was almost on par with it.

It narrowed its eyes and widened its stance, it's meaty thighs moving along with the motion of it's mane as it opened its mouth and roared, this time, louder and much more powerful than before.

“You are the Alpha of this pack and as the alpha it is alarming that you have not yet found your mate”

Silas rolled his eyes boringly, he had been in this meeting for an hour, 30 minutes and 25 seconds to be exact and he was getting pissed off with each second that ticked by.

“And why is it alarming?, I will find my mate when it is due time” Silas scoffed, playing with the sharp nib of the fountain pen that he usually used in signing documents by stabbing it lightly into the wooden oak table, the nib made hole  dents in the table with just a prick.

“A pack without a Luna is not really a pack, no matter how strong we claim that we are, if we don't have a Luna then we are as good as the other packs out there” Elder Ramus, the leader and chief of the council of elders said in a passionate tone.

“Well I believe that my mate would find me someday, don't you share the same sentiments with me?” Silas asked, his long slender fingers placed on his chin, the fountain pen he was once playing with lying in a corner of the table, forgotten.

“And you should take action about it, Even your own father had gone to the lengths of hosting a…”

There was a loud thudding sound and the table that was previously standing healthy was now collapsed on the floor in smithereens.

'Don't you dare make mention of my father in front of me anymore, if you still want your lives' ' Silas roared, his normally purple eyes now glowing red, a sign that his enraged wolf was struggling to take control and wreck havoc on those who had enraged him.

There was a stifling silence in the meeting room before a sigh “You guys are making me go crazy”.

With a loud scoff , he picked up his jacket and left the meeting room in large strides.

Ayra clutched her bleeding arms, the dizziness from losing a lot of blood and not letting herself heal hit her like a truck.

She cursed as sharp pains shot through her legs, the itching of the wound that had been obstructed from healing again and again reminded how deep she was in shit.

The blood from her wounded forehead flowed down her face, blocking her eyes from seeing clearly.

The dulling of the sounds of the environment in her eyes signaled to her that her senses were shutting down.

Her eyes and ears, so when she had crossed the line of trees that had been carefully planted to create a boundary.

“What are you doing here Rogue?, are you asking for death” a voice growled out.

Ayra’s eyes widened when she saw the four huge wolves encircling her and a half naked man hanging from the tree above her.

He was apparently the one who had spoken to her.

Ayra cursed when she realized that she had broken into a pack territory and from the looks of it, they weren't going to let her go just like that.

One of the brown wolves growled and signaled to the others.

“Surrender Rogue, don't make us use the tough way on you” the other half naked guy on the tree said.

“Never, I rather die than surrender” Ayra growled with gritted teeth, she could feel the world around her spinning but she wouldn't succumb to them.

“Then we have no other choice”

The last thing Ayra saw before she blacked out was the other half naked guy flipping down from the tree.
