Looking at the water flowing out of the rocks and into the clear river, Ayra caressed the beautiful flowers by the river side, lost in thoughts.
Her mind went back to the incident that led to her banishment from her pack, the events flashed through her memories almost as if it had happened yesterday.
ONE YEAR AGO
“You are nothing to this pack, so bear that in mind” the sarcastic voice said, followed by a kick on her ribs
Ayra winced but she didn't make a sound.
She knew that any sound that left from her mouth would increase her punishment.
“Because of you, your family members died, do you think Thay you deserve to live? It was because of our own mercy that we are letting you be alive and live in the same pack with us” With each rant and word, a painful blow would land on one side of her body, either on her legs, stomach or back.
A few minutes later, when the person was done, he spat at Ayra and then left the her.
When she saw that he was gone, Ayra groaned and slowly stood up from the floor, she hissed at the pain that wrecked through her body.
A tear rolled down her cheeks as she cradled her broken arms and walked to the pack hospital, hoping that the pack doctor would once overlook the fact that everyone hated her and held her set her bone that had shifted.
…
“I saw her, she sprinkled the white powder into my mother's tea”
Ayra watched in shock as the Alpha's 8 years old daughter accused her blindly of what she didn't do.
“I never did, all i added to the Luna's tea was the sugar and nothing else” Ayra cried, looking at the faces of the pack members around her, hoping that one of them would believe her but to her shock, the look on their face showed that they were believing the little girl.
“Shut up! Do you think that them little girl id lying against you?” The Alpha thundered loudly.
Ayra wanted to bend her neck in submission but the desperation to defend herself made her speak “Yes sir! She is clearly lying against me”
Their was a loud smack and Ayra fell on the floor, the Luna stood, glowering at Ayra in anger, it was obvious that she was the one who had slapped Ayra.
“Since you said that she is lying against you, why don't we go search Ayra’s room, let's see who is saying the truth” someone suggested.
Ayra’s eyes lit up in excitement “yes” she agreed hurriedly.
The Alpha choose 3 huge pack warriors to go search Ayra’s room.
Their was tension as everyone waited with bated breath for the pack warriors to come back with results.
A few minutes later, the three men came back with a heavy look on their faces
“What did you find?” The Alpha asked them.
The warrior who was at the head handed the Alpha a little bottle “this was what we found in her room” he said solemnly.
The Alpha corked open the bottle and sniffed it, he raised his head and glared at Ayra, his eyes glowing purple as he he yelled out in fury “Wolfsbane?! How dare you plan to kill my wife and your Luna?” He asked in an enraged voice.
There was a gasp in the crowd as everyone began to murmur.
Ayra stared at everyone with teary eyes, shaking her head, tears dripping from her eyes “I can swear Alpha, I dare not…” she was shut up with a harsh slap on her cheeks.
Her lips burst open and blood flowed a corner of her lips.
“How dare you!” .
That day, Ayra Donovan was banished from the howling wolf pack and became a rogue because of a crime she did not commit.
…
Ayra watched the deer silently with keen eyes, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
The oblivious animal chewed away at the pile of grass surrounding it, not knowing that death was knocking at it's door.
“Just one more step” Ayra thought in her mind, crouching so low and moving carefully to the extent that her paws didn't make any sound as it landed on the forest floor.
Just as Ayra was about to pounce on the deer, the sound of growls coming from the other side of the forest startled the eating animal andadw it run away.
Ayra cursed and made to chase after the deer which she had marked down as her dinner for the day but the scent in the air made her stop.
She was surrounded…and by rogue wolves.
The sound of paws smashing on the floor of the forest that had been carpeted by leaves from the large canopy of trees above was followed by the yelps of wolves.Ayra ran with all her might not wanting to be caught by the group of rogues behind her because she knew that once she was caught, the story would be another thing. They would use their long fangs and dig into her flesh, tearing her apart like she was good and this was all for the fun of it.One of the larger brown wolves yelped loudly, a remainder for her to surrender now or else if they caught her she would receive it in a drastic way. They were three in number, a much larger number for a lone rogue like her to tackle.Ayra pretended like she didn't hear them, Instead she ran faster and faster, not wanting to be caught by the group of mindless animals behind herShe ran past a clearing which had probably being used by a nearby pack as a training ground and changed quickly, as naked as she was, she climbed a huge tree quickly,
“Oh Shit!”Ayra’s heart raced as her gaze locked onto the menacing creature before her.The hair on the nape of her neck stood up in fright, the lion opened it's wide mouth and roared loudly at her making her narrow her eyes, the rotten smell of flesh and blood wafting out of it's mouth filled her nose.Ayra clenched her fists with gritted teeth widening her legs, getting ready to flee from the mindless animal. The lion's sturdy legs and arms flexed, getting ready to pounce at her.Just when she thought that she had escaped from the rogues that were going after her, she had fallen into another problem, this time a wild animal who couldn't understand human speech.“Can you please leave me alone? I'm pretty much exhausted” Ayra said in a pleading tone but as expected, the wild animal just growled at her before pouncing at her like she was a piece of rubber ball.“Today is my unlucky day” Ayra’s loud voice rang in the forest and then she took off.As a rogue, this was what her life consi
“You have to hide So,stay here and don't speak” His mother's trembling voice rang in his ears. The feel of her cold clammy palms on his skinny arms showed how panicked she was feeling.“Mama, I'm scared” little Silas whispered, gripping his mother tightly, not wanting to let her go.“Mama has a visitor outside, stay here with your sister okay? Once I'm done talking to them I will come pick you up okay?” Gianna said shakily, rubbing the little boy’s black curls in a bid to soothe his scared spirit.“Okay Mama, promise?” He asked In a childish voice.“Good , make sure you and your sister does not make any noise”Gianna added and closed the wardrobe, hiding the two children.Once his mother was gone,Silas stared at his little sister who was slumbering quietly beside him, their was absolute silence in the wardrobe except for the rapid beating of his heart.“Mama” there was a sniveling sound, the little girl's eyes popped open as she stared at her older brother .“Mama is out there, she wou
Ayra didn't know how long she had spent in this dungeon but she knew that it wasn't long but the torture of staying in a place confined with silver chain and having to deal with hunger and healing wounds made her feel as if she had spent hundreds of years in this place.“Can I have some water?” Ayra called out weakly, her lips were chapped from lack of water and food, Ayra could feel her tongue drying slowly. There was no reply, this had been the situation since she was locked up, no one spoke to her and no one replied when she spoke. There was the sound of shoes hitting on the ground, followed by the rattling of keys.Ayra perked up when she heard that sound, her eyes shining in excitement at the thought of freedom. The door of the dungeon opened with a loud creak sound and a blonde haired man wearing a look of disgust in his face walked towards Ayra slowly “Don't dare to try anything funny Rogue” He spat at her. With his keys, he unlocked the chains around her hands and legsAyra alm
