THIRD PERSON POV‘The world will turn against you for having something that they don't have!’ Ansel stared darkly at the clouds, his chest moving up and Down as he kept on replaying the words spoken by the Seer.He was still not sure if what the old lady said was true. What war was she speaking about? What peace? He couldn't understand.Again, he wasn't sure there would be any peaceful year. Especially now that he had to deal with Ramsey.Ansel's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts as he stood there, staring at the ominous clouds overhead. The Seer's words echoed in his mind, gnawing at his sense of reality and future. He clenched his fists, feeling the weight of the prophecy.“What war? What peace?” he muttered to himself, frustration seeping into his voice. He turned and began to pace along the edge of the balcony abruptly, landing both his hands on the railings. This was the place where he always came to seek solace. Turning his gaze below the railings, he could see the beautiful and
Ansel's jaw tightened. "So he is already here for revenge?," he asked grimly. "You killed his brother." Amos continued and Ansel just smiled darkly."They also killed four people in the wee hours of the morning. I tried to tell you but...""Enough! I have heard you!" Ansel's eyes were dark as he stopped his brother from continuing. He knew very well that his brother would blame everything on his mate."Is that all?" He continued after calming his rage down."The council.""What's wrong with the council?" Ansel's eyes flew open."They are still not sure if the girl died in the war as you promised them." The man just smiled. He knew they were all against his Edna.Who knew, maybe someone told them that Edna was still breathing and was still in the pack.He needed to do something."Tell them that she died in the war!" He turned abruptly and glared at his brother, "Am I clear?""Of course, Alpha.""Good." Also just gritted his teeth secretly unaware of what to say.If it was for him,
ANSEL POV“Alpha Ansel, I am done.” Amos mind-linked me, but I didn't respond.Instead, I gazed at my angry little wolf, “I need to go now.” Her shoulders dropped when she heard me say that.I knew she didn't want me to leave. There was so much I needed to tell her, to clarify things, but first, I had to deal with my enemy's people.“I promise, when I come back, I will explain everything to you.” I continued, but she remained silent, just staring at me.“Are you okay?” I asked. I understood why she was angry. I had been behaving like a jerk, and she had every right to be upset.Did I think that her desperation to have me as her mate, due to her former rejection, would make things easy for me? I was dreaming.“I trust you.” She blurted out, pulling me back from my thoughts. I turned to her, puzzled.“I said I trust everything you have said just now.”Wait, it was not what I was thinking about, right?Hell, no!“Y-you can read my mind now?” For the first time, I couldn't construct my se
ANSEL POVThe weather was cold in the northern part of Titanic Wave.We had arrived moments ago, and now we were talking with the Duke of one of the northern streams.“You said four people have been killed, right?”“Yes, Alpha, and the situation is still not good there.” The Duke, a middle-aged man, answered. I stared at him deeply until he dropped his face to the ground.“Duke Xavier,” I called, and he lifted his face to look at me.“If I may ask, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with the warriors at the border to help them as their Duke?” I questioned, and the man turned pale, rubbing his hair uncomfortably.“Don’t tell me you don’t know who you are to the people here.” I continued, feeling anger rise within me.I knew he didn’t expect to see me here, but here I was. I had just appeared without his knowledge. At first, I wasn’t planning to come, but after hearing that four of my people were dead, I had to see for myself what was happening. Only to find this old man here, ca
“That's what cowards do! Attacking people at their lowest.” I smiled despite the throbbing of my heart. It had been so long since I had experienced something like this before. The fear was evident in my whole being as I tried to compose myself. ‘Amos.’ I mind-linked the man that was also alert beside me. ‘We should find a way to run, Alpha!’ He retorted back through the mind-link and I gave him a side eye as Ramsey and his people rejoyed at my problem. They were happy that now, they had gotten us off guard. ‘No, I won't run. I don't run like am a coward man just like the one in front of us.’ I answered through the mind-link. “Haha! I heard the kid that you are so much in love with despite the fact that you knew well that he wasn't your blood is also mine, what a privilege.” He continued, trying to make me lose it. But instead of being angry, I smiled at him. Although, the smile was just covering my outside facade while in reality, I was very angry at the man that all I wanted wa
RAMSEY POVDamn, I hated Ansel to the bottom of my heart. The hate I harbored for this guy was immeasurable. If hate and despise could kill anyone, I was sure I would have killed the man a long time ago.Why shouldn't I hate him? Of course, I had many reasons to hate him.The man took everything that was meant for me.He killed my father so that he could take what was rightfully mine, the Titanic Wave kingdom. He had the Crescent Moon Pack, but he wasn't content with that. He had to kill my father for the whole werewolf kingdom.I also hated the upper council. The upper house contained great wolves who formed rules to govern our lands.Despite my many attempts to tell them that Ansel Damian was not the man they thought he was, they still chose to close their eyes and ears.I used to be the son of the Alpha-King of Titanic Wave before Ansel killed the man. Rightfully, I was the one to inherit the throne, but Ansel grabbed it from me, claiming he was the one who had killed my tyrant fat
### Edna's POVSuddenly, my heart started pounding, and I released my grip on Jack.I was completely uncomfortable, as if something bad was about to happen any moment. Was it about the dream? No, it was just a dream, nothing to worry about. Nothing would happen to Ansel. I tried to convince myself, but it was hard to believe. We had been in this room for almost five hours, and all that time, I had been terrified for unknown reasons.Since Ansel left for work, I had felt uneasy.Even though I was still angry at him, I didn't want anything bad to happen to him. Now, it was even worse. I was sweating.“Red?” Jack called, and I turned to him. “Why are you so pale? What just happened?”To my disbelief, my hands were shaking as I gazed at the evidence before me. This was not good. What the hell was going on?“N-nothing. I am just thinking. Nothing to worry about.” It felt like I was trying to convince myself rather than the child before me.“But you don't look well. Since the maids brought
My heart stopped at the realization, and I became stiff.Sensing my distress, Ansel held my hand to assure me that everything was okay. I relaxed a little. But why was he here? I hated him. I hated what he always did to his sister. And the worst part was the fact that I was scared and terrified of him. Especially after learning the truth about him, I was sure he wasn't happy with me either.“King Roshan, you are welcome,” Ansel said. All his henchmen had already moved behind him on the couch, giving him access to the door where Roshan was walking towards us.“I am not here to stay. I just want to know…” He couldn't finish his words as his eyes landed on Ansel's stomach.“You've been poisoned.” We all widened our eyes in shock. It seemed like Ansel was also unaware that he was poisoned because he appeared shocked too.Despite the shock everyone in the living room felt, Roshan walked straight to Ansel and started examining his wound.By now, I had curled myself into a ball, trying as ha
“Prepare a feast to celebrate my mother and the fact that we won the battle!” I blurted out suddenly, and all the people around were shocked by my decision.Maybe I was evil. My mother had died, and instead of mourning her, I was preparing for a feast to celebrate.‘No. You are not. That is what she wants you to do. To be happy.’‘Thank you, Serene.’ I had never been so happy with my sassy wolf than today.‘You!’ She shouted, and I laughed.“Okay, a feast to celebrate a new beginning and a new life!” Ansel blurted out, and all the pack members, plus our guests, looked in our direction in shock.“Your queen is expecting an heir.” Maybe they didn't hear when my mother talked about her grandson. I didn't know.“Hail the queen of the Titanic Wave! Hail the queen of the Titanic Wave!” They all chorused, and Ansel helped me up.“Where is Edric? He wasn't at the battle?” I asked as Ansel led me in the direction of the stairs.“Three of his council members died, so he had to go.”“It was my m
In one swift move, I was already on my heels and outside the room as if I wasn’t the one who was unwell. The only thing I could hear now was, ‘My mother!’She would be fine, right? Nothing would happen to her, right?Just a moment ago, we had been together, fighting side by side. What might have happened to her just now?All those thoughts kept replaying in my mind as I ran through the hallway, down the stairs, and into another hallway that led to the living hall. Something popped into my mind and I froze. She had no heart! She was living like a shadow!“Nooo!” I shouted at the top of my lungs as I increased my speed. Right now, I couldn't hear anyone speaking to me. I couldn’t see anyone beside me. All I wanted to see was Seraphina, my mother. Reaching the hall, my eyes started tearing up as I saw the woman on the couch, surrounded by some maids and other people I couldn’t recognize at this moment. I rushed to her and knelt on the floor, closer to the couch.“Baby girl.” She calle
The earth heaved, revealing hidden hundreds of witches clad in black, each with the same eerie white cross on their foreheads. Their village, previously hidden by powerful spells, now stood exposed before us.I swallowed hard and turned to Seraphina and she also turned to me."I am so proud of you, I myself didn't know that spell, how did you know it?"I averted my gaze away from her, "I also didn't know how I was able to perform it.""Do you believe that indeed, you were meant to save the wolf's species?" I nodded but the waves of shock rippled through me and by the whispers behind me, I could sense the shock in all of my people too.I could also sense the astonishment in the eyes of the soldiers and our allies. If not for the witches' attacks, we would have passed by this hidden stronghold, unaware of the danger lurking within. The witches, realising their concealment had failed, quickly regrouped. Forming a tight circle, they clasped hands and began chanting. Their voices rose in
EDNA POVMy breath came in shallow bursts as the trucks rumbled towards the witches' territory. It was time, time to pat back to the wiches for what they did to our brothers and sisters.I glanced around at my companions: Seraphina, her trusted confidante, sat beside her, while Coline lounged in the corner with an air of detachment. I had decided to suppress the need to ask her what she meant earlier because I could already see through her that she thought I was weak and that maybe, I used my beauty to be Ansel's mate.Silly her to judge me like that. How stupid was he to forget that there were also fate? That I was Ansel's fated mate?Indeed some people could be crazy and mad."Stay alert," Ansel's voice crackled over the radio-like. "We’re close."Immediately after I heard that, my heart started pounding in my chest. Suddenly, a loud screech filled the air as the lead truck swerved violently. What was going on?I turned my eyes in a bullet pace in front as we were at the top of
Edna's hands trembled slightly as she tightened the last strap of her armour. The preparations had been very tiresome to both of them, leaving her no time to question Ansel about the unfamiliar figures who had arrived earlier. Now, as everything was done, curiosity gnawed at her and she couldn't be silent anymore. She moved quietly through the hall towards her mate, Ansel, her mind focused on the impending battle but unable to shake her curiosity. Ansel was conferring with a group of warriors when she approached him. She leaned in close, her voice a soft whisper."Ansel, who were those two men and the woman with King Roshan earlier?"Ansel's eyes widened momentarily in realisation. He turned to her, a sheepish smile on his lips. "I am sorry, my love. I should have introduced them to you. Ooh no, why have I forgotten to do that and you are the qeen of wolves? You should be aware of who they are." He raised his voice, catching the attention of the mysterious guests."STEVE?" Ansel cal
Ansel sighed, his eyes softening as he looked at Edna. "I have to check on the warriors and make sure the cars are ready for our departure."Edna’s eyes narrowed, her jaw tightening. She threw off the pink robe, walked to the wardrobe, and pulled out a pair of trousers and a blue shirt. With quick, angry motions, she dressed herself, her movements sharp and agitated."Do you think I’m weak?" she shouted, her voice trembling with emotion. "Is that why you want me to sleep while you go and prepare for the war with your men?"Ansel stepped towards her, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "No, Edna. You need rest for tomorrow. It’s not because I think you’re weak. You’re anything but that. How could you even conclude that?"Tears welled up in Edna’s eyes, and she cried, her shoulders shaking with the force of her sobs. Ansel was taken aback, shocked by her sudden burst of emotions. He rushed to her and hugged her from behind, murmuring sweet words into her ear. This woman was everyt
Ansel tenderly tucked a loose strand of hair behind Edna's ear, his touch gentle and reassuring. "I’m ready for the war," he murmured, his voice steady and confident. "Especially after what I have witnessed today, it's high time I do anything to avenge the wolves that lost their lives and also to stop this ones and for all."He then softened his gaze at her and added, "Thank you for trying to get information from those witches. I didn't expect you would do that alone to help me."Edna looked away, her shoulders slumping slightly. "I wish I could have gotten more. We need every advantage we can get."Ansel shook his head, lifting her chin so she would meet his eyes carefully. "What you found out is enough. You’re the most hardworking Luna this pack has ever had. The most courageous queen of Titanic Wave. And the first to be its queen, what else could I ask for feom the goddess? I have everything in you."A faint smile touched Edna's lips, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "You’re
Ansel and Amos reached the packhouse in the middle of the night, their hearts heavy with the events of the day.Everything just happened fast. And as the days passed, many of their people were dying and Ansel just hoped that the higher house that made laws for all creatures would notice this and help him before it was too late.He could deal with everything himself but as law makers and people who pretended to be holy according to Ansel, they were supposed to open their eyes and see that the wolf species were at risk. But again, Ansel was aware who those people were. They were just corrupt beasts who were a bunch of good for nothing, lazy people who depended on others for information.Ansel ousted back those annoying thoughts then turned to the packhouse in front of him.The packhouse stood tall and silent, the moon casting long shadows over its wooden structure.Ansel moved with purpose, his grip on Sophia gentle yet firm as he carried her into a room adjacent to Jack's.At the time,
THIRD PERSON POV Ansel and Amos moved swiftly through the dense forest, their powerful legs propelling them forward as they leapt over fallen trees and navigated the rugged terrain. Their wolves had taken over and they were like beasts now, very huge and powerful with furs all over their bodies and claw-like fingers. The night air was thick with tension, and the moon cast an eerie glow on their path and on their wolf nature, causing them to be more powerful than before. After all, wolves were creatures we depended mostly on the moon to give them strength. Ansel’s mind was a storm of rage and sorrow, the news of the slaughter weighing heavily on his heart. The black witches had gone too far. How could they so heartless to kill over twenty wolves? That was mass murder and Ansel as the King of wolves, he needed to act swift. Or else, his people would suffer the consequences. When they finally reached the village, the scene that greeted them was one of unspeakable horror. The onc
