CHAPTER 138: WE ARE HAVING A PUP

Ansel sighed, his eyes softening as he looked at Edna. "I have to check on the warriors and make sure the cars are ready for our departure."

Edna’s eyes narrowed, her jaw tightening. She threw off the pink robe, walked to the wardrobe, and pulled out a pair of trousers and a blue shirt. With quick, angry motions, she dressed herself, her movements sharp and agitated.

"Do you think I’m weak?" she shouted, her voice trembling with emotion. "Is that why you want me to sleep while you go and prepare for the war with your men?"

Ansel stepped towards her, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "No, Edna. You need rest for tomorrow. It’s not because I think you’re weak. You’re anything but that. How could you even conclude that?"

Tears welled up in Edna’s eyes, and she cried, her shoulders shaking with the force of her sobs.

Ansel was taken aback, shocked by her sudden burst of emotions. He rushed to her and hugged her from behind, murmuring sweet words into her ear.
