Miranda- I woke up and found myself on Asher's bed. For the first few seconds of my regained consciousness, I looked around the room apprehensively, my eyeballs moving around in their sockets. When I suspected that Asher wasn't in the room, I lifted my head and looked around to ensure that he was nowhere to be found. I gulped and straightened myself before holding on to my right temple, which was now being battered with a painful headache. I noticed that Aunt May's food was still on the table, and when my vision took in the tall glass of apple juice, I gulped suddenly feeling very thirsty. I carefully got off the bed and headed to the chair closest to my breakfast. I ate my food but couldn't help it when my pupils looked around the room every once in a while. Aunt May knew me well enough to pack just enough food for me to clean out the plate. I downed the meal with my apple juice and enjoyed the cluster of washed grapes provided along with the meal. Once that task was completed, I h
Narrator- Miranda felt the push even before Asher performed the movement. He lifted his hands, causing Miranda's grip to slip off his shoulder blades, and with his palms, he applied a quick yet strong shoving pressure on the balls of her shoulders, forcing her to stumble backwards. Miranda's feet ran away until the momentum had run out. She looked at Asher with hurt, teary eyes. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Asher demanded, his tone telling Miranda that the rejection she earned at his hands was her own fault. "I just needed a hug." Miranda admitted. "And I told you not to bother trying to start anything with me. I don't care about you, can't you see that?" Asher bit without a care. He scoffed and retrieved a shirt from his dresser. "So then why am I here Asher? If you don't care, why am I here?" Miranda asked while opening her arms. The ghost stood in the corner with her arms crossed. She looked at Asher and shook her head in disappointment. Asher slipped on the s
Narrator-Miranda looked at the ghost as if she had lost her mind, and maybe she did."Have you lost your mind?" Miranda asked her while standing up."I know what I'm asking is not easy, but I need you to save him, and you're the only one who can do that." The ghost attempted to explain."Why me? Why not someone else?" Miranda pointed out with an aggravated frown."Because you guys were fated to be together. You're mates." The ghost answered."Um haven't you been around the past few hours?" Miranda quizzed, then said with a scoff, "we're nowhere near being buddies."The ghost laughed, "not that kind of mates silly. It's more like soulmates.""Come again?" Miranda said to avoid choking on her own spit. The ghost shook her head, "ah sweetie, you have a lot to learn," the spirit mused then invited, "come over to the bookshelf. It's time we conducted a little research."Miranda rose her eyebrows in bewilderment and shook her head, "I guess." She sighed out, then she approached the bookshel

She sighed while lying on her back, then propped her figure off the bed by her elbows. "Are you nervous?" Elaine asked Dillon. He lowered his vision and nodded slowly. "Alright." Elaine shrugged. She sat up completely, with her legs still opened. She pushed her hips as close as possible to Dillon's form while looking at his face, although he avoided her gaze with his eyes. She touched his excitement and Dillon jumped slightly. "Relax." Elaine told him, then she lifted his chin with her fingers so that he could look at her. "You know where this goes, right?" Elaine asked him, while palming his shaft. Dillon blinked and gulped again, then he nodded. "Good, so put it in." Elaine instructed. Dillon shifted on the bed, while Elaine lowered her spine back on the
Narrator-Joshua turned his face towards the office when he heard the Alpha's door open. Ben stepped out while placing his hat on, and he closed the door behind him. Ben walked towards the end of the hallway and nodded to Joshua while making his exit. Joshua nodded as well and waited for Ben to turn the corner, before he decided to head to the office. When Joshua walked inside the office, he wasn't the only one to find Asher a pacing mess. The ghost was there as well. She sat on the edge of Asher's desk and watched on as the Alpha paced up and down, with a deep, anguished frown on his brow, while his hand ran through his dark hair every twenty seconds. The ghost frowned, and it only grew when she noticed Joshua close and lock the door. She didn't want to be here for the conversation which was about to occur, but as usual, whenever Asher became emotional, he thought of her, and being still attached to him and anchored at his heart, whenever he summoned her, she had to be there.Joshua l
Narrator- Miranda released a shaky breath while staring into Asher's dark eyes. The syllables of his question echoed through the canals of her skull, and her tongue tickled with the response which she wanted to blurt out. The thought of her dry tongue urged her to lick her lips, and without realizing it, Asher's lenses flashed down to her mouth before he looked back at her gaze. "Answer the question." Asher pushed, while he shifted the weight on his legs. Miranda swallowed a gulp, "I see a creature who resembles a man, and yet I know that he has the strength and guile to kill me in the blink of an eye. I see a man who's given over to his emotions and has now forgotten what it feels like to be human. I see a human who's been through such tragedy, that now he lives in fear." She spoke the words with a trembling heart and feverish skin. To say she was afraid of the words which spurt passed her lips would be an understatement. But the truth in her words wasn't the real source of her f
Narrator- Joshua dropped Jamie's hand and stepped away from her without finishing his sentence. He turned his back on her, and walked towards the mouth of the cave, where he was sure Jamie wouldn't follow him. There, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, and looked out onto the forest, unsure of how to proceed. A few hundred feet away, inside the mansion, Miranda decided to head down to her kitchen to start preparing her dinner. The ghost did not make a reappearance since their argument that morning, and Miranda now truly feared that she was in fact alone. Unable to forget her worries, while going through her pantry for the necessary items needed for her meal, Miranda pulled out her phone and without thinking twice, dialed her mother's number. A fuming Carolynn's glare was finally removed from Ben and May, when her phone began to ring. She pulled out the device, and upon noticing the caller ID, she plopped the phone onto the table so the elderly couple could see who the caller was. M
Narrator- Jamie's hands gripped Joshua's jacket and pushed her form off her toes so she could press herself closer to him. The warmth of his skin attracted her ice-cold pores, and his woodsy scent entered her nostrils, making her fingers grip the material of his blazer even more. Joshua kept Jamie's mouth pressed to his by holding her face and neck captive. He tasted her lips, and shyly licked the tip of her tongue, before he realized what he was doing. However, instead of stepping away quickly, he carefully ended the kiss, and slowly placed some space between their bodies. Jamie blinked at Joshua, then avoided his gaze. Joshua scratched the back of his head, then cleared his throat. "So yeah, shut up." He said, then he turned just in time and walked to the mouth of the cave. There, the Beta stuffed his hands in his pockets, and looked out onto the forest, unable to keep a small smile from lifting his cheeks and spreading across his lips. Jamie also smiled. She touched her lips, a
Narrator-Carolynn stood in the middle of the yard, with her hands tied behind her back. Before her stood Asher and Miranda hand in hand, and all around her, were the judgmental gazes of the pack members she once called family. No one dared to speak or move. The sun was shielded by thick grey clouds, as thunder rolled in the near distance. A soft breeze, with a tinge of chill on it's wings announced of the coming storm threatening to soon darken the grounds of Asher and Miranda's pack. The forest held no songbirds, but rather the chilling flutter of pines in the wind served as an eerie sound effect for the current judgement taking place."Why did you conspire and carry out the murder of Elvina?" Asher posed calmly, while standing shoulder to shoulder with his mate.Carolynn kept her orbs down and refused to answer."Why did you attempt to kill your own daughter, the pack's Luna?" Asher then demanded, and still Carolynn said nothing."Do you wish to make amends?" Asher posed when the s

Miranda had fallen asleep from the pain, and Asher sat at the foot of the bed, lost in thought.Thoughts involving his late mate Anise, and the battle between him and Damien the night before. The constant cramping in his heart which he had become accustomed from constantly thinking of Anise and yearning revenge, had somehow dissipated during the overnight hours. With Damien gone, the score was now settled, and though Asher feared a life of loneliness, he meant every word he said to Miranda before she fell asleep.Though his mind was in a daze, his ears listened closely to every sound Miranda made, as if ensuring that he'd witness her last breath if it came to that.Suddenly, the Alpha felt a hand on his naked back. Her palm was cold, but not like that
Narrator-"What did you give her?" George demanded Carolynn, while Joshua still held her down."Guys, I can't hold her much longer." Jamie admitted while holding a thrashing Miranda in her arms.Joshua stiffened his jaw and turned to Carolynn who laid on the ground without a care. Grabbing her chin and squeezing hard, he glared with black eyes, down at the mischievous mother."What did you do?" Joshua asked with a growl under-toning his words."Nanda?" Aunt May called out, as she, Ben, and Violet, all made it to the clearing."What's wrong with her?" Ben demanded while running to Jamie's aid."Carolynn injected her with something. I don't know what." Jamie admitted, then she looked to Violet and May, "HELP ME HOLD HER!"Violet gulped with wide eyes, as she and May rushed to Jamie's aid.Lying Miranda's hyperactive body down on the leafy ground, Jamie held Miranda's shoulders, while Violet held her ankles."G-AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Miranda grunted and screamed.May tried to press on Miran
Narrator-"Elaine, DON'T!" Dillon screamed just before he jumped out of the way, and rolled until he made it to the other side of the cage in order to escape Elaine's attack. The huntress landed against the vertical cage wall and gripped the iron links with her claws. She grunted in anguish and turned her neck and deadly, predator gaze towards a wide-eyed Dillon.Screaming, Elaine backflipped onto the cage's platform, then dashed for Dillon.Damien still stood with his arms behind his back to watch the show.Dillon dodged Elaine's tackle once more. He hurried to climb out of the cage, but one strong grip from Elaine on his ankle, and his back was sent smacking onto the cage's rough and solid platform.Dillon laid on his back and coughed with a groan, as Elaine began stalking his way. Her fangs were bared, her gums bloody. The orbits of her eyes had been darkened by the spiderweb of vasculature, and her claws were enough to give a ten-year old nightmares for ages.Elaine huffed and gru
Narrator-George wiped a hand over his mouth, while the SUV continued to travel and rev through the dark forest.Deer jumped out of the way to avoid being hit by the unusual loud and speeding machine. Rabbits and nocturnal creatures all scurried out of the way to avoid becoming roadkill of the Alpha's rushed and maniacal driving skills. The motor's roaring and the bright headlights served as warning for all other traffic in the woods to cease and escape the large approaching vehicle."Neither May nor I have been entirely honest about who Miranda is." George began, while his pulse accelerated as if his brain was pressing the gas pedal on his pressures, and the adrenaline in his veins served as fuel for his pumping motor."Meaning?" Asher demanded while sending George a side glance before focusing back on the road. The Alpha's teeth were gritted, as if his white knuckles currently choking the wheel were not enough, and his teeth served as a secondary clamp to hold the balance on his emo
Narrator-The midnight moon shone it's silver light unto the sleeping towns below, like a lighthouse's trustworthy signal. It penetrated the darkest alleys and exposed the textured rooftops from one street to the other. Beneath the blanket of this heavenly spotlight, Damien's mansion opened its doors, and from inside the red brick, cold building, poured out many angels of the night. Lanky shadows moved swiftly from one branch to another. Bare feet mutely scaled rooftops and squashed flower gardens, as pale figures spread out through the forest, the haste in their skinny limbs exaggerating their determination to succeed in the mission assigned by their master.Underneath the trustworthy light of the extraterrestrial moon, Aunt May and Ben cuddled together in bed. The hunter squeezed his voluptuous mate in his arms while lying on his back with his eyelids closed. The bounty hunter breathed silently through his nostrils, his even and soft breath sounds a source of comfort for his lifelo
Narrator-Evening soon fell, and Alpha Asher called Joshua to ensure that Miranda was doing well. After confirming that his human mate had eaten and was preparing for her nightly rest, the Alpha ended the call and he too prepared for bed.In town, Violet was completing her last call of the day."Do you know what I want you to do for me?" Violet asked, her voice sultry and seductive.A breathy bass answered her across the cellular device."I want you to imagine I'm right next to you, can you do that?" Violet baited."What are you wearing?" The gruff voice said.It was enough to have Violet's spine line with itchy bumps, but she suppressed the urge to gag given that plump Herbert was one of her highest paying customers."Nothing." Violet whispered, and the fat, greasy man groaned across the phone."Is it working?" Violet posed after forcing herself to listen to three counts of Herbert's breathy sighs. She heard him gulp before he gave his answer.Violet grinned. Another satisfied custom
Narrator-The basement was a cold brick room. Water beads formed along the lining of the cement between the red rocks, even though the air was frigid enough to draw bumps from the pores of the various bodies which occupied the space.Soft breath sounds filled the red, dark, frigid place. Intermittent sighs and mute hums also erupted here and there. Heads hung on chests and limp necks. Abdominal muscles stretched and relaxed to display every live inhale and exhale. Fingers twitched in the dark, muscles spasmed, as the room full of various creatures remained silent and frozen. The sound of clinking chain links crashing against each other and rubbing on the asphalt is what brought Violet to as she drew in a harsh gasp through the muscles of her dry vocal cords. The human girl blinked groggily. Her vision blurry as if a foggy film had been plastered against her olive-green domes. There was a ringing in her middle ears, and a sharp headache sparking at the base of her brain stem. She groan
Narrator-"Well?" George pushed when Violet spent too long in silence. The human girl licked her lips, and sighed, then she looked back at George and expressed, "No."George stared at Violet, and she did the same through her lashes. The vampire drew in a breath and pulled even closer to her, then he grabbed her chin and forced her to keep her focus on his gaze. Then he looked at her lips then back in her eyes."Liar." He spat out earning a slight tremor of fear which rushed through Violet's physique while she was in his hold. Then he let go of Violet and walked to the other side of the bed where he climbed on and laid on his back with his hands folded over his lower abdomen.Violet's pupils looked at the alarm clock. It was only 4:15 AM. She still had two hours to sleep. Not caring much for her current situation and wanting nothing more than to please her sleepy eyes, Violet pulled back her sheets and climbed back into her bed. Turning her back on the vampire, she pulled the bedding a
