Fast-forward to six months later, while attempting to find the one responsible for the attack, Asher finds himself at a popular nightclub, where Vampires and Werewolves meet. After finishing her first official shift at the club, Miranda wakes up only to find herself in Asher's car. Narrator-Carolynn stood in the middle of the yard, with her hands tied behind her back. Before her stood Asher and Miranda hand in hand, and all around her, were the judgmental gazes of the pack members she once called family. No one dared to speak or move. The sun was shielded by thick grey clouds, as thunder rolled in the near distance. A soft breeze, with a tinge of chill on it's wings announced of the coming storm threatening to soon darken the grounds of Asher and Miranda's pack. The forest held no songbirds, but rather the chilling flutter of pines in the wind served as an eerie sound effect for the current judgement taking place."Why did you conspire and carry out the murder of Elvina?" Asher posed calmly, while standing shoulder to shoulder with his mate.Carolynn kept her orbs down and refused to answer."Why did you attempt to kill your own daughter, the pack's Luna?" Asher then demanded, and still Carolynn said nothing."Do you wish to make amends?" Asher posed when the s

With Damien gone, the score was now settled, and though Asher feared a life of loneliness, he meant every word he said to Miranda before she fell asleep.Though his mind was in a daze, his ears listened closely to every sound Miranda made, as if ensuring that he'd witness her last breath if it came to that.Suddenly, the Alpha felt a hand on his naked back. Her palm was cold, but not like that

Narrator-"What did you give her?" George demanded Carolynn, while Joshua still held her down."Guys, I can't hold her much longer." Jamie admitted while holding a thrashing Miranda in her arms.Joshua stiffened his jaw and turned to Carolynn who laid on the ground without a care. Grabbing her chin and squeezing hard, he glared with black eyes, down at the mischievous mother."What did you do?" Joshua asked with a growl under-toning his words."Nanda?" Aunt May called out, as she, Ben, and Violet, all made it to the clearing."What's wrong with her?" Ben demanded while running to Jamie's aid."Carolynn injected her with something. I don't know what." Jamie admitted, then she looked to Violet and May, "HELP ME HOLD HER!"Violet gulped with wide eyes, as she and May rushed to Jamie's aid.Lying Miranda's hyperactive body down on the leafy ground, Jamie held Miranda's shoulders, while Violet held her ankles."G-AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Miranda grunted and screamed.May tried to press on Miran

Narrator-"Elaine, DON'T!" Dillon screamed just before he jumped out of the way, and rolled until he made it to the other side of the cage in order to escape Elaine's attack. The huntress landed against the vertical cage wall and gripped the iron links with her claws. She grunted in anguish and turned her neck and deadly, predator gaze towards a wide-eyed Dillon.Screaming, Elaine backflipped onto the cage's platform, then dashed for Dillon.Damien still stood with his arms behind his back to watch the show.Dillon dodged Elaine's tackle once more. He hurried to climb out of the cage, but one strong grip from Elaine on his ankle, and his back was sent smacking onto the cage's rough and solid platform.Dillon laid on his back and coughed with a groan, as Elaine began stalking his way. Her fangs were bared, her gums bloody. The orbits of her eyes had been darkened by the spiderweb of vasculature, and her claws were enough to give a ten-year old nightmares for ages.Elaine huffed and gru

Narrator-George wiped a hand over his mouth, while the SUV continued to travel and rev through the dark forest.Deer jumped out of the way to avoid being hit by the unusual loud and speeding machine. Rabbits and nocturnal creatures all scurried out of the way to avoid becoming roadkill of the Alpha's rushed and maniacal driving skills. The motor's roaring and the bright headlights served as warning for all other traffic in the woods to cease and escape the large approaching vehicle."Neither May nor I have been entirely honest about who Miranda is." George began, while his pulse accelerated as if his brain was pressing the gas pedal on his pressures, and the adrenaline in his veins served as fuel for his pumping motor."Meaning?" Asher demanded while sending George a side glance before focusing back on the road. The Alpha's teeth were gritted, as if his white knuckles currently choking the wheel were not enough, and his teeth served as a secondary clamp to hold the balance on his emo

Narrator-The midnight moon shone it's silver light unto the sleeping towns below, like a lighthouse's trustworthy signal. It penetrated the darkest alleys and exposed the textured rooftops from one street to the other. Beneath the blanket of this heavenly spotlight, Damien's mansion opened its doors, and from inside the red brick, cold building, poured out many angels of the night. Lanky shadows moved swiftly from one branch to another. Bare feet mutely scaled rooftops and squashed flower gardens, as pale figures spread out through the forest, the haste in their skinny limbs exaggerating their determination to succeed in the mission assigned by their master.Underneath the trustworthy light of the extraterrestrial moon, Aunt May and Ben cuddled together in bed. The hunter squeezed his voluptuous mate in his arms while lying on his back with his eyelids closed. The bounty hunter breathed silently through his nostrils, his even and soft breath sounds a source of comfort for his lifelo

Jason-I looked at Cara while she made a show of looking around the suite, although I knew she was only stalling. I smiled at her actions when she ran out of items to focus on and was forced to look back at me.I placed my hands in my pockets and stared at her. She made eye contact, then smiled and looked away. I knew she liked it when I took this stance, and I wanted to make her comfortable."How are you feeling?" I asked her, breaking the silence. Her eyes snapped back to me, and my heart didn't fail to skip that beat it always did when her round eyes met mine. She smiled and took in a breath while lifting her shoulders, "Happy, but also a little overwhelmed."I liked that she was being honest."Yes, I figured that today might've caught you off guard, but you handled yourself well during the vows." I expressed, although a last question lingered on my tongue... Did you mean all you said during your vows?I watched her smile and shrug again as she avoided my eyes and blushed, "Yeah we

Cara asked softly, while looking into his eyes through the mirror.Jason's fingers tightened in her hair at the sound of her voice, and he pressed his mouth in her ear again and whispered while still holding eye contact, "The truth."Cara sighed and licked her lips. She would try to be stubborn one last time. It's as if Jason read her mind, and before knew his, his hand pinched the skin of her hips, encouraging Cara to speak without holding back. "Okay yes!" Chapter: Chapter 28
Narrator-The room Cara expected to see had been transformed into a different setting. The two full beds had been replaced with a large, sole, queen bed. The dresser remained and both nightstands were each planted on a respective side of the bed. Due to the larger space, the sitting area was upgraded with a larger couch and an armchair. Cindy's photographs were replaced with various paintings. The room itself was now livened with indoor greenery. The bed was decorated with sky blue sheets and white designs to match the curtains which adorned the large windows and balcony door. Cara dropped her bag casually on a side table near the door, and with her suspicions getting the best of her, she headed to the closet. To more of her suspicions and less of her surprise, the clothes she had left behind were still hanging in the closet. Cara closed the door with a huff and turned around in anguish. So she was back in the mansion and felt ready to scream. But screaming would have to wait, for a

Chapter: Chapter 9
Stephie stood in front of Jacob's door, breathing mutely while her eyes subtly studied the intricate natural lines found on the white coated wood. She had been standing at his door for quite some time now, stuck in a mental debate on whether she should even knock or return to her room. After Jacob had left her alone, Stephie returned to her room, and yet she found she couldn't lay or even dare to sit on the bed, feeling dirty and covered in sugar and crumbs and smelling like coffee. Unsure whether John would return later with her personal belongings or not, Stephie found herself in a conundrum. And of course, who else could help her in this situation if not the master of the house himself? So here she was, at his door, and yet not having the courage to knock.Sighing and deciding she'd rather sleep on the closet floor with towels for her bedding, Stephie turned to leave, just as the door swung open, and there she met Jacob, who now wore a short-sleeve shirt and gym shorts. A small han

Chapter: Chapter 8
Stephie crossed the threshold into her new bedroom and fought the urge to slam the door behind her. Pressing her arm between her teeth, Stephie bit down hard and grunted out her frustration in one long, stifled scream. Her eyes ran with tears, both from the pain she induced and the pain caused by her helpless situation. She could call the cops... But then say what? And even if she figured out what to say, Jacob and Carter would most likely pay off the entire case with a fancy lawyer, then she would really be in trouble.Stephie released her arm and sniffled, while closing her eyes. More tears ran down her cheeks. The indentation of her teeth on her arm pulsed with the now phantom-like feeling of the prior pain. The warm tears burned her eyeballs, and seeped through her closed eyelids. How did she end up a prisoner? The sad notion weighed on her shoulders, making her arms feel too heavy at their sockets. Her nostrils burned as she drew back a glob of mucus from it, then swallowing to

Chapter: Chapter 7
Narrator-The sound of her first name rolling off Jacob's tongue so casually sent Stephie's apprehension beyond the clouds, and before she knew it, she stomped past Jacob and aimed to take a seat. But Jacob wouldn't accept the disrespect. Grabbing her arm, Jacob stopped Stephie in her tracks. "Get your hands off me." Stephie was instantly on the defense, as she attempted to move her arm out of the man's grip. "You bumped into me," Jacob pointed, then in one swift pull, he drew Stephie closer to him, his face hanging above hers as his nose flared in a menacing manner, "apologize." "And if I don't?" Stephie dared to ask.She couldn't help that her wit was so easily triggered. "You should think twice about having an attitude with me, after all, I'm the only one standing between you and homelessness in this moment." Jacob reminded her.And again, the same reaction. Stephie's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes widened slightly in panic. There was something about being in the streets w

Stephie didn't waste her time in rolling her eyes while allowing her shoulders to droop."Here we go again." Stephie muttered, then she licked her lips and stared at Jacob once more."So, I see this is a thing for both you and your dad. I already told the old man, but since you weren't there, I'll make it clear to you, I don't want your money. I don't need your money." Stephie defended."You take the bus to work and can barely make ends meet. You live on petty cash tips to connect your paycheck to paycheck living. Trust me, you need money." Jacob released insult after insult while staring Stephie down.He wouldn't buy into the self-righteous act. The girl was as money hungry as they came. He'd never forget the way her eyes gleamed at the wad of cash from the night previous. He knew a greedy soul from anywhere."Well okay, I need money, but not yours or the old man's. If there's only one thing I'll accept from you and him is that you leave me alone, and while you're at it, tell your da

Chapter: Chapter 5
The next day, Stephie exited her home only to find yet another piece of paper on her porch. This time, when Stephie tried to ignore it, she found that the words on the leaflet had changed from old scribbles she was used to, to a new message.Think you can get away? Was what was written on the page. The words struck a fearful beat in her chest, and a sharp exhale pushed its way out of her lips.Blinking and gulping in a panic, Stephie quickly balled the paper and scanned her surrounding areas. The neighborhood was quiet for a weekday afternoon, and yet Stephie couldn't help the feeling that she was being watched. The mailman was once again making his rounds and minding his business, and at first glance nothing seemed out of place, and yet Stephie couldn't shake the churning of warning in her abdomen, nor could she calm the erect hairs on her neck. Hurrying down the steps of her home, Stephie walked a little quicker to the bus stop than she usually would. On the bus, Stephie noticed a co

Stephie stared at Carter and her heart dropped at his words."I knew it." She whispered with slight aggravation."Before you jump to conclusion, it's not what you think." Carter raised a pale and wrinkled palm in caution."Shouldn't I be the one to decide that?" Stephie replied with her quick-witted tongue."Fair point," Carter nodded, "but at least let me clarify, it is nothing sexual." Carter promised."Then what? You need a kidney? You found out you were dying, and you need a part of my liver?" Stephie spat with slight nonsense."You have quite the vivid imagination." Carter chuckled in amusement."Doesn't hurt to be extra vigilant." Stephie refused to relent."Fair enough." Carter hummed, and a silence fell on the table.Stephie blinked and stared at Carter, and he too did the same."Sooo, the catch?" Stephie hinted after an awkward second had elapsed.Carter intertwined his fingers again and sighed, "as you know, my wife passed recently."At the mention of Carter's dead wife, Ste
