After losing his mate and unborn child in a deadly attack, Alpha Asher vowed to never love another woman again. Fast-forward to six months later, while attempting to find the one responsible for the attack, Asher finds himself at a popular nightclub, where Vampires and Werewolves meet. Amongst them, is a human waitress, Miranda, who Asher instantly recognizes as his mate. Miranda feels a strong connection towards Asher, but doesn't understand why. After finishing her first official shift at the club, Miranda wakes up only to find herself in Asher's car. In Asher's eyes, Miranda is the exact opposite of the woman he once loved, and the kind of women he tolerated. She is outspoken, and she's not afraid of him. Asher feels challenged just by Miranda's presence alone, and he seeks to tame her. Now Miranda must find a way to escape Asher, and his world of strange creatures, where everything she thought she knew and believed is proven to be a lie. And little does Miranda know, her will won't be enough to overpower the desire of her heart, which now seem to beat only for Asher.

Before her stood Asher and Miranda hand in hand, and all around her, were the judgmental gazes of the pack members she once called family. No one dared to speak or move. The sun was shielded by thick grey clouds, as thunder rolled in the near distance. A soft breeze, with a tinge of chill on it's wings announced of the coming storm threatening to soon darken the grounds of Asher and Miranda's pack. The forest held no songbirds, but rather the chilling flutter of pines in the wind served as an eerie sound effect for the current judgement taking place. "Why did you conspire and carry out the murder of Elvina?" Asher posed calmly, while standing shoulder to shoulder with his mate. Carolynn kept her orbs down and refused to answer. "Why did you attempt to kill your own daughter, the pack's Luna?" Asher then demanded, and still Carolynn said nothing. "Do you wish to make amends?" Asher posed

Miranda had fallen asleep from the pain, and Asher sat at the foot of the bed, lost in thought. Thoughts involving his late mate Anise, and the battle between him and Damien the night before. The constant cramping in his heart which he had become accustomed from constantly thinking of Anise and yearning revenge, had somehow dissipated during the overnight hours. With Damien gone, the score was now settled, and though Asher feared a life of loneliness, he meant every word he said to Miranda before she fell asleep. Though his mind was in a daze, his ears listened closely to every sound Miranda made, as if ensuring that he'd witness her last breath if it came to that. Suddenly, the Alpha felt a hand on his naked back. Her palm was cold, but not like
Narrator- "What did you give her?" George demanded Carolynn, while Joshua still held her down. "Guys, I can't hold her much longer." Jamie admitted while holding a thrashing Miranda in her arms. Joshua stiffened his jaw and turned to Carolynn who laid on the ground without a care. Grabbing her chin and squeezing hard, he glared with black eyes, down at the mischievous mother. "What did you do?" Joshua asked with a growl under-toning his words. "Nanda?" Aunt May called out, as she, Ben, and Violet, all made it to the clearing. "What's wrong with her?" Ben demanded while running to Jamie's aid. "Carolynn injected her with something. I don't know what." Jamie admitted, then she looked to Violet and May, "HELP ME HOLD HER!" Violet gulped with wide eyes, as she and May rushed to Jamie's aid. Lying Miranda's hyperactive body down on the leafy ground, Jamie held Miranda's shoulders, while Violet held her ankles. "G-AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Miranda grunted and screamed. May tried to pres
Narrator- "Elaine, DON'T!" Dillon screamed just before he jumped out of the way, and rolled until he made it to the other side of the cage in order to escape Elaine's attack. The huntress landed against the vertical cage wall and gripped the iron links with her claws. She grunted in anguish and turned her neck and deadly, predator gaze towards a wide-eyed Dillon. Screaming, Elaine backflipped onto the cage's platform, then dashed for Dillon. Damien still stood with his arms behind his back to watch the show. Dillon dodged Elaine's tackle once more. He hurried to climb out of the cage, but one strong grip from Elaine on his ankle, and his back was sent smacking onto the cage's rough and solid platform. Dillon laid on his back and coughed with a groan, as Elaine began stalking his way. Her fangs were bared, her gums bloody. The orbits of her eyes had been darkened by the spiderweb of vasculature, and her claws were enough to give a ten-year old nightmares for ages. Elaine huffed a
Narrator- George wiped a hand over his mouth, while the SUV continued to travel and rev through the dark forest. Deer jumped out of the way to avoid being hit by the unusual loud and speeding machine. Rabbits and nocturnal creatures all scurried out of the way to avoid becoming roadkill of the Alpha's rushed and maniacal driving skills. The motor's roaring and the bright headlights served as warning for all other traffic in the woods to cease and escape the large approaching vehicle. "Neither May nor I have been entirely honest about who Miranda is." George began, while his pulse accelerated as if his brain was pressing the gas pedal on his pressures, and the adrenaline in his veins served as fuel for his pumping motor. "Meaning?" Asher demanded while sending George a side glance before focusing back on the road. The Alpha's teeth were gritted, as if his white knuckles currently choking the wheel were not enough, and his teeth served as a secondary clamp to hold the balance on his
Narrator- The midnight moon shone it's silver light unto the sleeping towns below, like a lighthouse's trustworthy signal. It penetrated the darkest alleys and exposed the textured rooftops from one street to the other. Beneath the blanket of this heavenly spotlight, Damien's mansion opened its doors, and from inside the red brick, cold building, poured out many angels of the night. Lanky shadows moved swiftly from one branch to another. Bare feet mutely scaled rooftops and squashed flower gardens, as pale figures spread out through the forest, the haste in their skinny limbs exaggerating their determination to succeed in the mission assigned by their master. Underneath the trustworthy light of the extraterrestrial moon, Aunt May and Ben cuddled together in bed. The hunter squeezed his voluptuous mate in his arms while lying on his back with his eyelids closed. The bounty hunter breathed silently through his nostrils, his even and soft breath sounds a source of comfort for his life
Narrator- Evening soon fell, and Alpha Asher called Joshua to ensure that Miranda was doing well. After confirming that his human mate had eaten and was preparing for her nightly rest, the Alpha ended the call and he too prepared for bed. In town, Violet was completing her last call of the day. "Do you know what I want you to do for me?" Violet asked, her voice sultry and seductive. A breathy bass answered her across the cellular device. "I want you to imagine I'm right next to you, can you do that?" Violet baited. "What are you wearing?" The gruff voice said. It was enough to have Violet's spine line with itchy bumps, but she suppressed the urge to gag given that plump Herbert was one of her highest paying customers. "Nothing." Violet whispered, and the fat, greasy man groaned across the phone. "Is it working?" Violet posed after forcing herself to listen to three counts of Herbert's breathy sighs. She heard him gulp before he gave his answer. Violet grinned. Another satisf
Narrator- The basement was a cold brick room. Water beads formed along the lining of the cement between the red rocks, even though the air was frigid enough to draw bumps from the pores of the various bodies which occupied the space. Soft breath sounds filled the red, dark, frigid place. Intermittent sighs and mute hums also erupted here and there. Heads hung on chests and limp necks. Abdominal muscles stretched and relaxed to display every live inhale and exhale. Fingers twitched in the dark, muscles spasmed, as the room full of various creatures remained silent and frozen. The sound of clinking chain links crashing against each other and rubbing on the asphalt is what brought Violet to as she drew in a harsh gasp through the muscles of her dry vocal cords. The human girl blinked groggily. Her vision blurry as if a foggy film had been plastered against her olive-green domes. There was a ringing in her middle ears, and a sharp headache sparking at the base of her brain stem. She gr
Narrator- "Well?" George pushed when Violet spent too long in silence. The human girl licked her lips, and sighed, then she looked back at George and expressed, "No." George stared at Violet, and she did the same through her lashes. The vampire drew in a breath and pulled even closer to her, then he grabbed her chin and forced her to keep her focus on his gaze. Then he looked at her lips then back in her eyes. "Liar." He spat out earning a slight tremor of fear which rushed through Violet's physique while she was in his hold. Then he let go of Violet and walked to the other side of the bed where he climbed on and laid on his back with his hands folded over his lower abdomen. Violet's pupils looked at the alarm clock. It was only 4:15 AM. She still had two hours to sleep. Not caring much for her current situation and wanting nothing more than to please her sleepy eyes, Violet pulled back her sheets and climbed back into her bed. Turning her back on the vampire, she pulled the bedd
Narrator-Alpha Asher backed away from the handmade crib, and stood at a distance with his arms crossed, as he admired his handiwork. The crib was painted white, the wood itself included carved images of wolves, stars, and the different phases of the moon. Asher smiled proudly, as he looked around the room decorated with shades of blue and yellow. The furnished space had everything necessary for a nursery, plush toys sat atop every furniture, and a mobile spun above the crib, with tiny wolves, moons, and pine trees. There was a nursing chair sitting in the corner next to the crib. There was also a small shelf, packed with books and bedtime stories.Aside from the child-friendly decorations, there were also photographs of the Alpha and Luna. The Luna's pregnancy shots were also displayed, as well as that of the Luna and Alpha in wolf form, near the lake that bordered the pack on the north end. The room was kept warm, the lights soft. Everything a baby needs to feel comfortable. Asher pl...
