If Dustin had used himself for his experiments, and all that made no sense, it must have reached his head the wrong way. The whole presence of this mundane was creeping her out, and his snake-like tongue wasn’t helping either. Something was unsettling in the way he was eying Noah as well.

She felt he knew Noah, not just as a target but on a deeper level, which was impossible in every way. Ophelia turned to follow Dustin’s gaze at Bernard and Valarie. They were a mess from the battle, their royal clothes were torn with blood staining the once vibrant colors, and their skin was tainted with smoke and debris. But Ophelia saw the fear in their eyes.

As if they have been caught lying.

“Hero was right,” Noah said, breaking the long awkward silence. “You are talking too much and there is no reason for us to hear you out.”

“Are you scared Noah Hireath?” Dustin asked disregarding Noah's words, his eyes narrowed as the corner of his lips twisted into a sly smirk. “Scared of the truth?”
