Wounds

Jane point of view.

I had never seen a brighter smile or more genuine happiness than when Jayden heard my confession. When we reached our peak, the bed seemed to reach its limit too and broke, causing both of us to fall to the floor laughing like two children. I was breathless from laughing so hard, and he looked around, trying to stop laughing.

"Oh my God, this bed is over twenty years old, it survived war, but it didn't survive Hurricane Jane." Jayden made me laugh like a child.

I covered my mouth, trying to stop laughing, but honestly, I was laughing nervously because I was already thinking about how we were going to explain this to his parents.

"What should we do now?" I asked, embarrassed.

He shrugged and smiled.

"Now we'll put the mattress on the floor to continue the fun, and tomorrow I'll tell my mom that the bed is too old and didn't handle us." Jayden suggested, and I decided to go along with it. After all, what can't be cured must be endured.
