Chapter Thirty One - Wonder

After we got home from dinner, my mind was floating in the clouds. I could sense Alex's concern about my behavior when we returned.

It seemed like he was trying so hard to hold back from asking, even though he desperately wanted to know what was happening.

Guilt washed over me as I realized how worried I've been lately. What if my impulsive actions lead to my death? I sighed heavily and rolled onto my bed, pondering the uncertain future ahead.

It's challenging to predict when or where my demise might occur since so many things in my life are new and unpredictable right now.

Meeting Alex has certainly changed things. I bit my lower lip and sighed deeply again. Giovanni is acting strangely too.

I don't know why I'm even saying this, but it feels like he's trying to keep me away from Alex for some mysterious reason.

Sometimes he seems jealous or doesn't want to see me around Alex, which is odd. I wonder if he had some kind of conflict with Alex before I came into the pict
