Elena’s POV

Just as I was about to sit back down, the doorbell rang. Alex got up to answer it, and I heard a feminine voice that made my heart skip a beat.

"Hey, Alex. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

Kalyan. Her voice was like a splash of cold water, dousing the warm and fuzzy feelings I had just moments before.
