Elena’s POV

As I walked through the front door, exhausted from a long day at work, I was surprised to see Daniel waiting for me in the living room. He had a sly grin on his face and a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Hey, beautiful! How was your day?" he asked, standing up to greet me.

I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "It was long. But I'm glad to be home."
