Chapter 1

The moment I laid eyes on Donna Hill, I was captivated.

She was wearing a tight-fitting white workout outfit, and as she squatted in front of me, her curves were on full display, showcasing their undeniable charm. Every man in the gym was staring at Donna, and I was no exception.

I was a fitness coach at this gym, and ever since Donna started coming here, all the male trainers had been vying for the chance to be her personal trainer. Somehow, this enticing opportunity fell into my lap.

With the perks of being her trainer, my interactions with Donna gradually increased. Eventually, after some encouragement from friends, I launched an all-out campaign to win her heart. Persistence paid off, and after a few months, I finally managed to sweep Donna off her feet.

Today marked our first wedding anniversary. I had taken the day off from work and left early, all to prepare a special surprise for Donna at home.

As I drove into our neighborhood and pulled up to our building, I noticed a large SUV occupying my parking spot. I considered calling the driver to move it, but then I saw there was an empty spot for temporary parking nearby, so I let it go.

After parking my car, I grabbed a bouquet of roses and a carefully selected gift before heading upstairs with excitement.

"Babe, I'm home!" I called out as I opened the door.

After changing my shoes, I realized I hadn't seen Donna yet, which struck me as odd. Where could she be?

Just then, Donna emerged from the bedroom, her forehead glistening with sweat. Her cheeks were flushed, and tiny droplets clung to her hair, giving her a beautiful, radiant look. She seemed flustered as she looked at me. "Honey, why are you back? Didn't you say you had to work late today?"

I stood there, roses and gift in hand, studying her panicked expression. Something wasn't right. Even though I had taken the day off to surprise her, her reaction didn't make sense. Why was she so flustered? And why did she look like she had just finished a workout?

"Today is our first wedding anniversary! I took the day off to celebrate," I said, handing Donna the bouquet of roses and the carefully wrapped gift. "So? Are you surprised? Do you like it?"

Donna's expression seemed a bit off. "Y-yeah, I'm surprised. I really like it. Thanks, Honey."

"I'm glad to hear that! I'm going to take a quick shower, and then we can go out for a nice dinner." I headed straight toward the bedroom.

But Donna rushed to stop me. "Honey, just go ahead and shower. I'll grab your clothes for you."

Her reaction only deepened my suspicions. I hesitated for a moment, then decided to sidestep her and walk into the bedroom. "I'll grab it myself."

I scanned the room, checking the places that could likely be hiding a person, but found nothing out of the ordinary. With a neutral expression, I opened the closet, pulled out my pajamas, and sighed with relief.

I was glad to find no one hiding in there. Maybe I was just imagining things.

"Jason Barker, are you suspicious of me or something?" Donna stood at the doorway, her face clouded with concern.

"Of course not! You're the best wife in the world!" I replied, trying to lighten the mood. I playfully squeezed her shoulder, and she shot me an annoyed glance before gently pushing me toward the bathroom.

As I showered, I hummed a tune, feeling the steam surrounding me. After rinsing off, I used the toilet, but as I stood up, something caught my eye—a cigarette butt sitting in the trash.

I squinted at it, examining the brand—it was a Dunhill.

I froze. I always smoked Marlboro cigarettes; I had never even tried Dunhill! Where did this come from?

Could my earlier suspicions be true? Did Donna really have another man over? Was she cheating on me?

My face darkened with dread.

I lingered in the bathroom for what felt like ages before finally emerging, forcing my expression to return to normal.

"Babe, ready to head out for dinner?" I asked Donna.

But she appeared from the kitchen, carrying two plates of steak. "No need to eat out; I made you steak for dinner."

I was momentarily taken aback. I hadn't expected her to be so prepared.

A wave of warmth washed over me, but the thought of her possibly cheating extinguished my happiness.

As we sat down to eat, Donna casually mentioned, "Oh, by the way, don't throw the toilet paper in the bowl anymore. The toilet got clogged, and I had to call a plumber to fix it."

A thought flashed through my mind before I smiled. "Got it. I'll remember that."

The cigarette butt must have belonged to the plumber. See? I knew Donna would never cheat on me!

I cursed myself for being so paranoid.

After we finished our steaks, I wrapped my arms around Donna and carried her to the bedroom.

I had been working overtime lately, and we hadn't had much intimate time together.

Even after a year of marriage, I found myself just as drawn to Donna's body as ever.

One thing was for sure—working out really did pay off!

In the past, she had always been enthusiastic during our moments together, but tonight she seemed a bit distracted, and we rushed through it.

"Babe, are you feeling okay?" I asked, holding her close.

Donna shook her head. "I just overdid it with the workout at home this afternoon, so I'm a bit tired."

"I see. Let me give you a massage."

As I prepared to start, I suddenly heard two sharp sneezes.

My hands froze as I stared at Donna.

It was just the two of us in the room—she hadn't sneezed, and I hadn't either. So who just sneezed?

Could it be that there was a third person in the room?
