"Is there someone else in the room?"

My heart raced as I asked the question, my eyes darting around.

Donna shot me a cold glance. "Jason, what's with that look on your face? Are you really suspecting that I brought a man home?"

"Th-that's not what I meant," I stammered. "But I thought I heard a man sneezing just now…"

"Hah! So you DO suspect me!" Donna exploded, her voice rising. "Don't think I didn't notice; you've been suspicious since you walked in! That's why you were so insistent on searching the bedroom. Just look around! Is there anywhere you haven't checked? Where could someone hide? Under the bed? In the closet? Behind the curtains? I'll look around too!"

With that, Donna jumped out of bed, flung open the closet doors, and pulled back the curtains, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she looked at me.

"Found anyone? Huh?"

This was the first time I'd ever seen Donna cry since we got together, and it left me feeling utterly helpless. The fact that I hadn't found anyone only added to my unease.

"Babe, I…"

I tried to reassure her, guilt washing over my face.

"Don't stop now! Keep looking! Should I open the window and check?"

Donna let out a bitter laugh, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

I quickly backed down. "Babe, I'm sorry. I was wrong to suspect you. I must have been hearing things earlier."

Her piercing gaze was unwavering as she stared at me.

Suddenly, she burst into tears. "Jason, have I ever done anything to betray you since we got married? How could you even think I would cheat on you? You’re unbelievable!"

Seeing her in such distress, I had no choice but to suppress the last remnants of doubt swirling in my mind and tried to comfort her.

But Donna was genuinely furious this time. She threw a blanket at me and slammed the door shut.

Sighing, I hugged the blanket tightly, realizing that I'd messed up by misjudging her.

The next morning, I woke up to find that Donna had already left for work.

On the coffee table, I noticed a note. 'Breakfast is on the table. Help yourself.'

A smile crept onto my face. Donna still loved me.

At the same time, I pushed down that nagging thought in my mind that shouldn't have been there.

There was no way Donna would betray me—I couldn't let myself doubt her again!

After finishing the breakfast Donna had prepared for me, I headed out to the gym for my shift.

As soon as I walked into the gym and changed clothes in the locker room, I overheard two men talking in the next stall.

Their conversation was in Spanish, and I could understand most of it.

They were new personal trainers at our gym and quite popular with the female clients. As far as I knew, they had been with at least ten women from the gym.

Initially, I wasn't paying much attention, but then one of the trainers casually dropped a line that made me freeze in place.

"Mark, was that woman as good as you said?"

"Of course! She was wild! She invited me to her place on her wedding anniversary, but I almost got caught by her husband!"

"Ha! You'd better be careful; don't get yourself killed!"

"Please! I was hanging out the window, and he didn't even notice! Want to know how it ended? She kicked him to the couch, and I spent the night making love to her in the bedroom, and I only left in the morning!"

"Haha! Mark, you sure know how to have fun!"

My mind went blank as my fists clenched tightly.

What he described sounded exactly like what had happened last night!

Was there really someone else in my house last night? A guy from my gym, no less!

Heat surged through my nostrils as I considered confronting him in the locker room.

Just then, Mark Walters spoke again. "Kevin, do you want to join us tonight?"

"Sure!" Kevin Stone eagerly replied.

I felt my heart race as I suppressed the urge to confront them.

Great! Since they were going to have some multiplayer fun tonight, I decided to catch them in the act!

After they finished changing, I stepped out, my face darkened with resolve.

All day, I couldn't focus, my eyes fixated on Mark as he trained female clients, clearly taking advantage of them. His hands practically wandered into their yoga pants, but those women didn't seem to mind at all!

I kept my watch on him until 8:00 PM when he finally left the gym with Kevin.

I rushed after them, following them to the Pinnacle Hotel.

I furrowed my brow, confused. Why weren't they coming to my place?

But there was no time to dwell on it; Mark and Kevin had already entered the elevator. I hurried after them, but just as I was about to step inside, the security guard blocked my path.

"Sorry, sir, but you need to check in at the hotel first."

I glared at him. "How come those two guys got in?"

The guard replied coolly, "They booked a room."

My face darkened as I pressed further, "Which floor are they on?"

"Sorry, but we can't disclose that information." He looked at me with disdain. "Sir, if you're not checking in, please leave."

I felt a surge of anger at the obvious bias, but I held back my urge to hit him. What good would that do? I'd still have no idea which room Mark and Kevin were in.

I got back to my car, lighting one cigarette after another.

Was I just supposed to sit here and wait for them to come out?

Frustrated, I slammed my fist on the steering wheel and pulled out my phone to call Donna.

No answer!

My heart sank.

One call, two calls, three…

I lost count of how many times I called. Just as I was about to give up, I finally heard Donna's voice on the line.

"Honey… wh-what's … wrong?"

Her voice was shaky, interrupted by what sounded like muffled slapping.

My expression darkened to a furious scowl.

Immediately, I pictured a scene: Donna was getting it on with Mark and Kevin while answering my call!

Donna shot me a disapproving look and gently touched my face. "Does it hurt?" She had completely dropped the cold demeanor from yesterday, which only made me feel guiltier. What was wrong with me? How could I have thought such things about Donna? "It's fine, really. It doesn't hurt," I said, smiling as I took her hand. "Still playing tough, huh?" Her hand paused for a moment, then she continued spreading the ointment as she replied, "Jason, you really hurt my feelings last night."
