Chapter 115

Alexi's POV

The moment Alexis stepped out of the car my heart felt like it might burst. I have been waiting anxiously, pacing up and down where we agreed to meet. When a car came into view and flashed its light twice I knew Bergan’s man was here. The sight of her stepping out of the car, alive, and safe, was like a weight lifting off my shoulders. I walked forward out of the shadows, into the light illuminated by the car headlight, Alexis ran towards me and I pulled her into my arms.

“Alex!” she whispered as she burst into tears.

I held her tight. “I’ve got you,” I murmured. “You’re safe now, Alexis. You’re safe.”

I pulled back, looking up at her face, lean and tired. I could see the toll of everything on her. I noticed another lady beside her but this wasn't time to ask questions so I quickly went to the driver who brought them.

I walked to the driver's side who never got down from the car, a man Bergan had arranged. “Thank you for bringing her here safely.”

He just nodd
