Alex's POV

We agreed to move to Stowe since Dorset was compromised. Stowe that had always been where I met Anton. After the encounter with my father, Richard, something felt off. He had found us too easily in Dorset, and I wasn’t about to take any chances. How did he know where we were? It wasn’t like I’d left a trail, and I was careful with every move I made. But if he knew once, he could know again, and that meant Alexis wasn’t safe. I couldn’t risk her being taken back to Alpha Kane.

At least in Stowe, I knew the terrain better, had more control over the situation, and could ensure we stayed hidden. It was also closer to reaching Anton. Nobody would expect me to be there because it was just a two-hour drive to our pack. The moment we packed our things and arrived at the new hotel in Stowe, I felt a small sense of relief, even though it wasn't for long. Something still didn’t sit right. I felt like I had eyes on me.
