Chapter 109

Alex's POV

The drive to Stowe felt like an eternity and at one point it felt like it was the longest journey I had ever taken. I wish I could teleport. I made my way to the meeting spot where Bergan and I had first met. My heart raced. Bergan had news about Alexis.

Alexis, it had been too long since I last saw her, and each day that passed felt like I was losing her further to Alpha Kane. The fear of not getting to her in time gnawed at my insides.

When Bergan contacted me earlier, I couldn’t hide my relief. I had been waiting for words from him, any update, and finally, he had reached out. He told me to meet him at the same small bar in Stowe where we’d had our first discussion. It wasn’t the most discreet place, but it worked. My mind was already racing with possibilities.

I approached the bar and I pushed open the door. Bergan was already seated in the same corner booth, sipping a drink as he stared into the distance. When he saw me, he raised a hand in greeting.
