My eyes swept across the entire living area. It was the entire size of my former apartment, or even bigger, although slightly. In my sweep, my eye caught sight of the armchair from the old place. It was the only item I recognized, everything else was new. Since the armchair was light brown, the other sofas took the same color. A long sofa sat in front of the big tv, while the two single sofas, including my old one, faced each other. I also noticed the end of the living room had glass window walls which let natural light in, extenuating the beauty of the off-white colored walls. It was absolutely beautiful.
To the right, I noticed the kitchen. On one glance, I could tell it had a white theme going on, matching the living room paint job. The handleless cabinets hanging from the top wall and attached to the grounds were all white. The marble table tops that sat on the floor cabinets had a grey look to it. A look that matched all the kitchen appliances, from the double fridge,“Maya! Could you get the door please?" Just a second after my loud yell, she emerged from my bedroom where she was doing laundry. I could tell because she was drying her hands on her flowery, short gown as she matched towards the door. “Hello, can I help you?" I heard her ask when the door opened. I instantly looked up from the baking tray that had a few scoops of already squeezed out cookie dough from the small nuzzle bag in my hands. “Maya, who is that?" I was a little weary of who it could be. Seeing that I had more enemies than friends, I didn't want people knowing my new address. She turned to me with a lost gaze. “Some guy," she replied, pricking my interest even further. I placed the half-empty nuzzle bag on the counter. I was about to leave the kitchen when she briefly looked away from me. “He says his name is Rain." she muttered when her gaze returned. My racing heart was instantly steadied. “Le
"She did what?!”When the echo of my loud voice came back into my ears, I then realized I had screamed. "The last three days have been going so well, she believes whatever we're doing is going to last forever.”Rain's voice was still calm, despite my nostrils breathing hot air into his face. "Oh my God," I sang with a mocking tone and a loud cackle. "How delusional is that crazy bitch?”I was still struggling with keeping my voice under control, I simply gave up and just let myself yell. It was my apartment anyway. Just then, Maya walked past me into her bedroom. That was the convincing I needed to lower my voice. She was the last person that needed to know about what was going on. “Apparently very delusional." Rain's voice dragged my eyes away from the swaying flare of her flowery, short gown. It was almost seductive. “And what about the plan?" I asked when my head was back in play. "Have you been able to
Rain held his index finger to his lips, his eyes shone with nervousness tinted with sheer horror. My stomach rumbled like a pot of boiling water, but I nodded in response, agreeing to be quiet which went against every fibre in my body. Nodding along with me, I watched him take a deep breath before putting the phone to his ear. “Hi baby." Even though I knew he was faking, it made my blood boil to hear him call her that name. “Where I am? Oh uh, I stopped someplace close to home for lunch.” Hearing him lie almost made my giggle. Just then, I got a bright idea. My lips grew like the Grinch on Christmas Eve. I flashed him a demonic grin, noticing his eyes widen just before leaning into his neck. He knew what I was thinking. “You told my mom what?" His slightly irritated voice came into my ears but it didn't stop me from repeatedly kissing the skin around his neck. I felt his hand in my hair, trying to make an attempt
Sharing a quick kiss with Rain who stood on the other side of my door, I said my goodbye before shutting the door when he turned to leave. "Oh my God, your boyfriend is so cute!” Was the first thing I heard when I turned away from the door. I was slightly startled by Maya's loud voice, having no idea that she was even anywhere around me. When I met her excited, harmless eyes, my pursed lips eased into a smile. “Who told you he's my boyfriend?" I asked teasingly as I made my way to the kitchen, where she was. “Are you kidding?!" she exclaimed with a hearty laugh. “From the minute he walked into the apartment, he was all over you and you were all over him." I laughed along, walking to the kitchen island where she stood. The cookies from earlier, baked and cooled off, were arranged into a plate. I took a piece into my mouth. My face scrunched when the mix of flavors touched every corner of my mouth. “It's good isn't
I laid down in my bedroom, my back upright against two pillows positioned in between me and the bedhead. My phone in my hands, I scrolled through Instagram, waiting until my doctor’s promised visit. I couldn't wait to get the white crap around my head removed. With it on, David refused to go more than a few deep kisses and with Rain gone, it was either him or nothing. Just then, a horrific picture came into my sight. It wasn't a picture of an injured puppy, or a dying child. It was a picture of Rain and Katy, and everything about the picture was to me, just as horrific as the things earlier mentioned. My eyes scanned every inch of the Instagram photo. The more I looked, the angrier I got but I just couldn't tear my eyes away. He had his hand around her waist with a wide smile on his face. I scrutinized his smile for a difference, if he smiled wider or if he looked happier. In my head, he smiled too wide for someone who was faking every action he performed around
The humid atmosphere of my room was filled with the loud satisfactory screams of David and I as our bodies simultaneously crashed into bed. Lying next to each other, we could hear the wheezing sounds made from our rising and falling chests, while we struggled to catch our breaths. My head turned to look at him. At that moment, he did the same, locking eyes with me. Watching him struggle so hard to steady his thumping heart tore a laugh out of me. He didn't hesitate to join in my amusement. “What's funny?" he asked after a minute of clueless laughter. "For a man in his fifties, you sure have a lot of energy.”My laughter died out towards the end of my statement but I still had a smile on my face. "I am not fifty,” he spoke in a emphatic tone of fake surprise. "I will have you know that I am a very energetic forty-nine year old.”I erupted into another round of roaring laughter. "And there's a difference?!” I blurted, gripping the bottom
It took everything in me to not choke on the water I had in my mouth. When I heard the unmistakable sound of shock in David's voice as he called his son's name, my eyes immediately flew in the door’s direction. Sure enough, there he was, Rain Tetra, standing on the other side of the door with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. “Dad?" He sounded just as shocked as his father, looking like it too. His eyes traveled to where I stood, glaring at me with a number of unspoken questions. Questions I just was not ready to give answers to. “What are you doing here?" By thumping heart thumped even louder when their voices chorused into the air. My lungs stung but it felt like the air around me wasn't enough to take from. Moisture gathered in the palm of my hands as I started to sweat. The last time my hands sweated was when I stood on the front porch of the Tetra mansion for the very first time. I had forgotten what it felt like. Intense, neck choking f
"Raya! Rain's here.”I had a big white towel around my chest and hair from just taking my morning shower. I looked up to meet Maya poking her head in through the door.“Oh uh,” With her big, bulgy eyes on me, I contemplated dressing up first or stepping out to meet him the way I was. “Ah fuck it,” I murmured under my breath. “Okay." I said loud enough for Maya to hear, deciding to meet him with the towel on. He had seen me naked more times than I could count, and I was excited to see how he would react to me after the drama with his father the last time he was at my apartment. After they left, a part of me worried over whatever conversation they may have had on the ride home or even a day later, and what it resulted into. Maya withdrew her head when I got closer to the door. I walked out, took a few steps forward before turning the left into the sitting room. The first sight my eyes caught was the ever charming Rain
