Seventy-second Chapter

The humid atmosphere of my room was filled with the loud satisfactory screams of David and I as our bodies simultaneously crashed into bed. Lying next to each other, we could hear the wheezing sounds made from our rising and falling chests, while we struggled to catch our breaths. My head turned to look at him. At that moment, he did the same, locking eyes with me. Watching him struggle so hard to steady his thumping heart tore a laugh out of me.

He didn't hesitate to join in my amusement. “What's funny?" he asked after a minute of clueless laughter.

"For a man in his fifties, you sure have a lot of energy.”

My laughter died out towards the end of my statement but I still had a smile on my face.

"I am not fifty,” he spoke in a emphatic tone of fake surprise. "I will have you know that I am a very energetic forty-nine year old.”

I erupted into another round of roaring laughter. "And there's a difference?!” I blurted, gripping the bottom
