“Where did they go?” I asked to no one in particular.

As if in response, my phone started ringing from inside my purse. I pulled it out, surprised to see it was Lucius calling.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“We’re waiting for you on the rooftop,” he said.

“For what?” I asked, frowning.

“Your family wanted to show me the view, so here we are. Don’t take too long,” he replied before hanging up.

I stared at the phone screen, curiosity piqued. I knew there was a beautiful event space on the rooftop, with a stunning view of the city, but it wasn’t typically open except for big events. Unsure of what they were planning, I left my purse behind, exited the apartment, and climbed the stairs to the rooftop. I pushed the door open.
