Elevator frolics

Leo's POV

“Good morning, sir.” The woman in the elevator greeted, as I entered.

“Morning.” I nodded, clasping my hands behind my back.

“I'm an intern at the finance department, sir,” She blushed. “I offered to make you a cup of coffee yesterday but you refused.”

Frowning, I searched her face, trying to recall her among the multitudes of people that I had met yesterday, and I soon did.

She was the overzealous intern that has stayed behind after my meeting with the finance department yesterday, asking me if I wanted her to make me some coffee.

When I politely rejected her offer, she had gone on to give me an unsolicited explanation detailing how she used to work at a café downtown, but quit when the café became bankrupt and reduced her salary.

While I liked passive and outspoken people, I hated talkatives to a fault.

Something about them running their mouths like broken taps always irked the shit out of me.

“Oh.” I muttered nonchalantly.
