A probable suspect

Allison’s POV

“Mummy, your phone is ringing,” Aiden bellowed from the sitting room. “Should I bring it?”

“Who's calling?” I yelled back, as I set the dish of boiler potatoes on the dining table, in preparation for dinner.

“Dunno, there's no name on it.” He shouted. “I shouldn't bring it?”

Nibbling on my lower lip, I contemplated, my mind in a state of turmoil as I stared into void for a while before finally sighing.

“Okay, bring it, sweetie.”

Aiden came prancing almost instantly, eyes glimmering as he brought me my phone, a smile that reminded me so much of Leo, sealed to his lips.

It was either I had never noticed how much he looked like his dad when he smiled or he had only started smiling smiling like that recently.

“Thanks, honey.”

“Welcome, mummy.” He said, before scurrying to the room, my warnings for him to walk and not run on the tiled floors of our apartment, falling on deaf ears.
