The next day, dressed as a bride forcefully, I was holding my mother’s arm desperately.
“Mama, I will do anything you say, don’t make me marry Kyle,”
“Do you think I want that? We have no choice, my love. Look at your father, only you can save him.” She sighed, frowning when I was not moving an inch as she secured the veil over my head.
I wanted them to listen, to understand that he wasn’t the man I wanted.
In fact, the one I truly desired was the person who forced me to say yes.
Why couldn’t he notice my love? My feelings for him? Why make me marry Kyle when I didn’t want to?
“Please…” I whimpered, clutching my chest due to pain and enhancing that sting, he entered with his cold front.
Wow, so he had dressed up for my fucking wedding too.
Unbothered expressions, wearing all black shirt and pants accompanied by a waistcoat and well combed hair to look eye-catching.
My jaw clenched, glaring at him through the reflection which he obviously ignored and asked Mother.
“Are you guys ready?”
“No. I am not,” I hissed, ripping the veil off from my head and throwing it away.
Displeased with my actions, he came closer. I flinched when without a second, he grabbed my wrist and made me stand.
“I don’t have time for your drama. Come,”
I felt numb, I was drained, I couldn’t do it but he forced me to move. My lips began to shake with tears blurring my vision.
“Mama,” Please, please, please, stop him…
“Denzel, careful, please,” Mother whispered, emitting compassion for me but how could I blame her?
There was nothing she could do. Kyle was too powerful… we couldn’t fight him.
“Then tell her to accept her fate. This is the best for her but her tiny brain is incapable of understanding this,”
Growling, he didn’t bother to hear further and since my father was in the hospital, he decided to walk me down himself.
Like hell I would let it!
Whimpering, I struggled to release his harsh grip but he had always been overwhelmingly strong and nothing I did affected him.
“Leave me, let me go!”
“Leave me, Denzel!”
“I said I don’t want to-”
Tired of my whining, he gave me a rough yank, pressing me against the wall.
My throat dried when his muscular body was lethally closer to mine.
I shivered when he placed his one hand above my head and pressed his index finger on my lips with the other hand, freezing me.
“Shut the fuck up, Eliana,” I obeyed…
Silly me, after he had horribly broken my heart, I swayed by his one action.
What kind of attractive spell was it? It was almost like a connection of a soulmate. Did he feel the same-
Oh, what was I saying? If he had, he wouldn’t be throwing me into fire.
Licking my lips anxiously, silent tears streamed as I held his wrist, pulling his hand from my lips down. My misery was transparent but he had become blind.
He couldn’t hear how madly my heart was screaming his name.
“You are no one to decide or force me into anything. Leave me, Denzel, don’t do this to me.” I whimpered, shaking my head in denial.
And my weak, delicate whisper infuriated him. He almost looked… powerless and slammed his both hands on my either side.
“What is your problem!?”
“Do you want me to die from the pain of marrying Kyle before you?”
His anger faded at my comment. Mouth gaping when I sobbed a little, leaving the cage of his arms to cover my mouth and wipe my tears.
“Even if you don’t feel the same, I cannot bear marrying another man before you,” I cried a little, taking support from the wall.
My tears, my words, my pain, nothing worked, nothing lessened my pain. It was unbearable for me to hold Kyle’s hands.
“Don’t spout nonsense,”
Hissing, he was about to grab my wrist but I yanked my hand away, glaring at him. He had tormented my soul enough but I won’t let him do that further.
“Then leave me. I won’t go with you. You are not my father, you are a nobody, Denzel Reynold,” I growled, pointing my finger at him as I gathered my dress and moved back.
“Okay, fine. Go with your mother,”
He scoffed. Once again, it meant nothing to him.
Rolling my eyes, I ran back to the dressing room, to my mother who was astonished to find me back.
“What happened?”
“Why would he take me there? You are my mother, I will go with you,”
“But, you are so attached to him-”
“I don’t care. I will go with you,” I hissed, curling my hands in a fist to contain my powerlessness.
“Okay,”
Mother didn’t think deeply about the reasoning and helped me to fix my form. When she set the veil over my head again, she kissed the top of my head, heartbroken.
“I am sorry, this is not how I imagined your married, my love,”
“Me too. But… What can I say? Let’s go and get over this,” I sighed, giving her hand an assuring squeeze.
I was left with no choice.
“Bless you,”
She smiled, wiping her tears as we left where the man I least wanted to see was waiting for me.
The scheming billionaire, Kyle Hudson. His blue eyes shining, brown hair flowing in the air while keeping a charming expression.
I got fooled once, but not again.
His usual manipulative aura surrounding him, earning a glare from me. The second I stepped forth, his face glowed, observing my helpless figure carefully.
“Ah, there you are, Darling, I was impatiently waiting for you. You are looking absolutely stunning,”
Grinning, he took my hand without offering, making me stand at the altar, keeping my hands caged in his, he pulled us closer.
“Drop that sweet act after giving my father a heart attack,” I muttered, rolling my eyes.
I scanned the hall and fortunately, Denzel wasn’t there. I seriously wouldn’t be able to continue if he was there.
“Do you think I did this deliberately? If I had known he is weak-hearted, I wouldn’t have come near him in the first place,” He frowned, caressing my knuckles to convince me.
“I don’t need your explanations,”
“Okay, I am sorry, Baby. Let’s place this behind us and start a new life, I promise I will give you all the happiness and keep you happy.”
Murmuring, he kissed my hands, flashing a wide, toothy grin to convince me.
Not wanting to create a scene or infuriate him, I remained motionless as the ceremony started.
“Do you, Eliana Duke, take Kyle Hudson, as your lawfully wedded husband?”
I couldn’t explain, it took life-threatening force from me to say my ‘I do,’- It shattered me.
Each second was heavy on my breaths, tears refilled, suffocation took over me. Invisible fetter defeated me and it was not from Kyle’s actions.
But Denzel’s.
When I never meant anything then why did he hold my hand?
Just to leave me on another man’s mercy?
I was overwhelmingly outraged at Denzel, hating myself for loving a man like him. Whatever the reason was, my life was destroyed.
… All because of him.
“I pronounce you as the husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride,”What the fuck did just happen in a moment? I… got married… to someone else? No, no, no…My body shivered at the declaration. My eyes went wide from heartache, mouth gaped. A strong rush of pain traveled, turning me incapable of reacting.“I was dying for this moment, you are finally all mine now, Mrs. Hudson,”I stood like a statue when he lifted my veil and without a warning pressed his lips upon mine. I didn’t kiss back, it was cold, it was horrible.I hated the way those lips moved upon mine, satisfying his carving following by a tear of defeat because-My love lost. My feelings lost. I lost. After the undesirable kiss, we pulled away. I wiped my lips which Kyle noticed but he was too exhilarated and decided to ignore it. “Please take care of my daughter,” Mother wept, hugging me while I stood dead inside.“I know I took a wrong approach but I will try my best to redeem my mistake,” Kyle grinned, placing his h
‘Look where the desire to have you left me in my life..? I just wanted you, Denzel. And you were the only person who left me,’After eradicating his name from my heart and cruising his life for what he had done to me, I went back. It was crushing me, it was weighing too much on me. I wasn't mentally prepared to become a wife, not Kyle’s. It was never on my list and all of it was heavy for me but I was left with no choice. He had left me and whoever it would be now won’t make a difference.“Sorry, I am back,” I called, coming back to where he was waiting for me in his Rolce Royce, leaning against it while trying to convince my mother.“I promise I will be good- Done? Let’s go now,” Flashing his fake smile, he opened the door for me. I glared at him and turned back to Mother who gave me a pitiful look. What could it do? Nothing. “I want to see my father first,” I demanded seriously, getting in the car while he was setting my dress and grinned.“We are going there anyways,” I rolle
With a heavy pain on my chest, I started my married life where my consent didn’t matter, where my feelings were meaningless. What a pathetic bond…My eyes were cold, hands were empty, nothing to hold onto left anymore anyways. Everything had turned to dust. Submerged in my thoughts, I was hugging my knees on the bed with an empty side as my ‘husband’ came out after taking a shower, taking out his office attire.“Eliana, listen. I have to leave right now, I am sorry,” He spoke apologetically, hastily getting ready but I had zero concerns about that.“Look, I don’t mean to leave you after marriage but I have a really urgent meeting, I will be back soon.”He smiled sweetly, coming closer to kiss the top of my head before pulling away. Forming my lips in a thin line, I nodded. “It’s alright,”I failed to force a smile too…After he left, I dug my nail into my skin, jaw clenching. The sensation of his touch was unwanted. I didn’t want it to replace my mistakes, I wanted them to sting,
DENZEL’S POV:-‘I curse the day I saw you, Eliana. I should have killed you when I had the chance,’ I thought furiously, remembering that jinxed moment.FOUR YEARS AGOBeing the Alpha of the Crimson pack, I knew I had responsibilities and a stack of work over my head since my father died long ago in a fight. And unwillingly I became an Alpha at the age of twenty and for the past six years, I had kept my pack close and together. But, amid my duties and load, I had my partner, my beloved girlfriend Gizelle with me- which I knew was ‘not’ my mate.“You and I both know, Alpha, that woman you consider your lover is not your mate,” And following that news, a gypsy woman decided to pay me her visit, daring to speak nonsense about my pure bond with my beloved.“No matter how many times you mark her, it will be futile,” She smirked, deepening my frown about the comment.“And shall I assume you claim to know where my mate is?”Resting my one leg over the other, I kept my gaze unbothered and t
ELIANA’S POV:-When I was eighteen, we shifted away from the city. From our opulent apartment to a more posh, secluded area because my Father wanted us to live in a mansion. And here we were, shifting into an enormous mansion and me being clumsy, I broke the vase he got from China.“Come on, let’s treat that,” Mama sighed, helping me to stand and not deepen my wound.“God, when will you stop causing troubles, girl? You won't have your pocket money for this month so you know how to be careful next time,” Papa scolded, holding his head in frustration. He was already exhausted because of shifting and I pissed him off more. “Come on, Papa,” I whined but he shot a glare in my direction.“Shut up,”But then ended up sighing, holding his sides, he started searching for someone to treat my wound.“Now where is the first aid box?!”Seeing him this distressed almost made me chuckle. Ah, he was growing old, his patience level was dropping by each passing second.“Let’s take you inside,” Mama sm
DENZEL’S POV:-Standing in the balcony of my room, I could visibly see the struggling girl, trying too hard to win her competition, I assume. How foolishly she was training, not caring the sweat rolling down, breathless, probably exhausted too yet giving her best. “Hmph, pathetic,” Curling my lips in a smirk with my hands behind my back, I continued to stare at my so-called mate, watching her practice.I was stuck in a dilemma of what I should do. She had no idea who or what we were, dragging her into this would be wrong. She had a life ahead of her after all.“So she is your mate?” Breaking the trail of my thoughts, Gizelle came, wrapping her hands around my strong arm with a mischievous smirk.“Yes. An eighteen year old human who probably has no idea about us,” I sighed in disappointment.Shifting my hand to place it on her shoulder and keep her right near my chest. She belonged right here after all as I inclined my head against hers.“Looks innocent,”“Hmm,”“What are you going
ELIANA’S POV:-“Are you satisfied now?!”Throwing my result on my face, Papa was fuming with rage as I failed to get the internship he wanted me to due to my grades. I was not surprised, he had always been strict, no compromises for studies. I was so focused on practicing that I neglected studies and now after failing both.He was fuming while I was looking down with tears shining on my cheeks.“I am sorry, I won’t do it again,” I whimpered, holding my dress anxiously as he was taking out his wrath on me.“For that stupid game of yours, you didn’t study and what happened? You failed! Why don’t you get it?! You cannot defeat Melissa!” He shouted.Startled, I got back, my breaths were momentarily stopped. Tightening my grip on my dress, I was frightened to no extent.“Not in tennis or in studies. Tsk, my faults that I trusted you. You can’t do anything!” He continued, hurting my feelings more than he could imagine. And to worsen the scar on my chest, he pointed his finger furiously at
I didn’t know whether he did it deliberately, out of pity, or something else but he surely evoked a whole new sensation of boost in me to follow my path.He became the first person to encourage me- even if it was indirect.‘...No one around me did it before, not Lenny or my parents. He was the first person who supported me,’It felt good… it revitalized a new surge of confidence. So, to repay him, I poured my best talent into my fingers, well aware of my flairs as I was making the frosting for my cupcakes until Lenny came.“What are you doing?”“I am baking some cupcakes,”Suppressing a chuckle at my display of excitement, she also decided to mock me.“May I know why? Since when did you start taking interest in it? Are you finding alternatives since your father ruined your dream?” She teased me, causing me to frown at her. I was in a good mood compared to how miserable I was for the past few days.Placing my hand over my waist, I held my high, not letting her ruin my confidence. “Y
