The Luna's Comeback

"Good day, the indigenous members of the Grey Moon pack,"

"As the newly appointed Alpha of the Blood Moon pack, I hereby announce… Amelia Clement as the new Luna of the pack," he paused, and I gasped out in shock. My eyes bulged out of its socket immediately.

What! My mouth opened agape in shock. I felt all the blood in my veins dry, and my heart froze the moment I heard his announcement. I couldn't get myself for a moment. It was as though the world had crumbled on me.

I felt my heart shattered into pieces as I listened to Xavier who announced my twin sister as the Luna of the pack.

He couldn't possibly choose my sister over me, right? I've been with him for years as his girlfriend and fiancee. This must be a joke.

I thought it was a prank even though it looked real. It had better be a prank because I wouldn't be able to handle the heartbreak if it was real. My heart clenched in pain as he turned to me.

I turned to Xavier with my eyes filled with tears. He stared at me with a blank expression. "Xavier," I called out drily, with my throat aching in pain.

Instead of replying to me, he moved closer to my twin sister, Amelia, pulled her into his arms, and slammed his lips on her pink lips.

A soft gasp escaped my lips as I watched them kissing each other passionately. It was real. At that moment, I believed it wasn't a joke anymore, and that I wasn't hallucinating.

Why was he doing this to me? I thought, trying to force back the tears that threatened to pour from my eyes. I couldn't believe he could betray me and choose my sister instead of me, despite what I'd done for him.

I made him the Alpha of the Grey Moon pack, even though he wasn't from a noble family. I chose him despite the criticisms I faced from friends, relatives, pack members, and elders who claimed he wasn't royalty.

The man I loved and had always cherished announced my twin sister, Amelia, as the Luna of the Grey Moon pack instead of me.

I walked toward them with an angry and sad look on my face. I pulled Amelia from Xavier's arm and slapped hard on her right cheek.

She gasped out in shock with her hand on her chin. She stared at Xavier with fake tears building in the corner of her eyes.

"You boyfriend snatcher. You snatched him away from me. He's mine," I spat out, unable to conceal the overbearing feeling which overwhelmed me. Cold tears rolled down from my eyes, and my heart ached in pain.

I couldn't believe he could do such a cruel thing to me. He was the only man who'd seen my nakedness before. And he was also the man who deflowered me.

How could he do this to me? Despite not being mates, I felt a strong connection with him and had a feeling that he would be my destined mate.. I was rest assured that he would be mine since we were yet to get a mate.

"She slapped me, baby," she said, referring to Xavier as *baby*. I felt a surge of anger flowing through my veins as I stared at her with hatred and resentment.

I moved closer to her and when I tried to slap her again, a firm hand gripped my arm tightly. I looked up with an icy gaze, and the person turned out to be Xavier.

He had a cold and stoic expression on his face which sent chills down my spine.

"Don't you ever try to touch her again," he said and threw my hand away roughly.

"Sorry, sweetheart," he said, and my eyes bulged out of its socket. I felt the world crumble on me as I heard his last statement, 'Sweetheart'. This couldn't be. He truly meant his words.

"You can't do this to me, Xavier. We've been in this relationship for so long," I said with my voice, shuttering in pain and agony.

At that moment, the pain I was going through was unbearable. My heart ached in pain as though a spear pierced into it.

"Is this how you're going to repay me, despite what I'd done for you?" I asked in a cracked and weak voice.

He nodded his head in response. He tried to talk as he cleared his throat, but my mischievous sister interrupted him.

"You don't have to force yourself on him, Alessia. You have always gotten what you want, right? But Xavier is different because he's mine alone. You can't possibly have him," Amelia said. She didn't look remorseful in any way that she was snatching the boyfriend of her twin sister. She didn't care about my feelings.

I was sure she must be happy that she had snatched him from me.

I should have known that she had been interested in my boyfriend for so long with the way she gawked and smiled at him seductively whenever she was with him.

I'd thought she was a good person until then I knew she was an evil and mischievous person. She broke my trust in her.

"Look into my eyes and tell me you don't love me, Xavier," I growled, and my throat burned in pain.

My heart skipped in fear as I watched him look straight into my eyes without flinching.

I hoped he didn't tell me to my face because I had yet to accept that he did choose my twin sister, Amelia, over me.

"I don't love you, Alessia," he said icily, and I gulped down into nothing.

He said he didn't love me! Hearing it again from his mouth broke and shattered my heart into pieces. The pain that struck my heart was excruciating.

The heartbreak was too much for my fragile heart to handle.

"Is this the surprise you were talking about?" I asked as I walked toward him with a weak and faint look.

My legs wobbled in pain with each step I took.

He'd told me before the announcement that he had a surprise for me, but I wasn't aware that he and my sister were plotting evil against me.

"Yes, it is. And let me make this clear to you. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore," he said and turned to the pack members, who were overwhelmed with shock.

The congregation gasped out in shock, and the entire hall was filled with murmuring. They all kept quiet as he slammed his fist on the table with his alpha tone.

That was the manipulative and dominant power of an alpha.

"That's enough! I'm very sure you'll be surprised that it wasn't the person you were expecting."

"Well, from henceforth, I want you all to respect Amelia Clement as the New Luna of the pack. If you disrespect her, you're also disrespecting me, so be careful with her. And I will seriously deal anyone who disrespects her with. Understood?" He asked, and all the pack members agreed.

"Xavier, Amelia,"

"You both are going to pay for this."

I yelled, ignored the pain that stung my heart, and ran out of the podium in tears.
