Chapter 9: Bad Karma

‘F*ck! F*ck!’

A loud crash of a glass cup echoed inside my office. My jaw tightened, eyes darkened out of anger. Today marks the year of Emerald's disappearance. A year full of tears, regrets, and realizations.

Many things had happened with my life after my wife's disappearance. I couldn't imagine I would miss her. She was supposed to be forgotten because I had already found my mate. I thought I didn't care about her anymore, but I was wrong. I was definitely wrong for underestimating the effect of Emerald's disappearance.

My heart was torn into pieces. It is as if something is missing with me for a year now. I can't forget about her. I can't even forget her image, her beautiful smile, her care, and everything she did to me.

The guilt had been hunting me from what I did to her. It's been hunting me even when I closed my eyes. This is maybe my bad karma for wasting her.

This is my karma for rejecting her love and for letting her disappear without doing anything to stop her. I k
