Adriana’s POV

“He’s like that sometimes,” Patrick said softly to me, drawing my attention away from the door that I had so longingly been staring at. I blinked at him in surprise, wondering who he was talking about but when I noticed that he was also looking in the direction of the door, I sighed.

“You don’t have to create excuses for him, for God’s sake, he nearly beat you to death!” I yelled exasperatedly, shocked that he would even try to defend Massimo at a time like this.

It is because of their overly loyal attitude to him that usually makes him do whatever he wanted with them and it was bad.

“I know that he nearly beat me to death,” Patrick mumbled under his breath, “and I also know that he would’ve done that if you hadn’t walked in when you did.” He added, making me sigh. I watched him tend to his injuries like someone at war would, and again, I felt sympathy as I stared at him.
