Chapter One Hundred And Twenty Eight

Adriana’s POV

I woke up to the unmistakable sound of my door opening. In fear, I glanced around the partially dark room but then as soon as I saw that the intruder was Massimo, I hissed.

A part of my mind had thought that it was Caden and that I was in great danger but now that I had seen who it was, especially after catching a glimpse of the single red rose in his hands, the adrenaline that had been pumping through my veins seized.

Thank God, I am not in danger!

“Anna, hi. I didn’t mean to wake you up.” He said softly, coming to sit by the side of my bed but I ignored his presence.

The last thing I wanted right now was to be in the same room with him but then knowing the kind of person that he was, he wouldn’t Keene until he had been given a chance to say exactly what had brought him here in the first place.

“I’m sorry,” he blurted after a few minutes of awkward silence, and even though I had been waiting for him to say that for the past few hours, I still didn’t feel excited.
