Chapter One Hundred And Thirty Five

Adriana’s POV

“Adriana speak, you’re wasting my time! I saw you at the back of the house pushing some food into your mouth when you’re supposed to be fasting! How can you be so insensitive on this special day?!” He growled, causing me to flinch back in fear.

At first, I didn’t make sense of what he was trying to say but then when it made sense that that was the crime he thought I had committed, I exhaled in relief.

“I am sorry!” I cried, pretending to be really shaken by the fact that he had seen me eating when I was supposed to be fasting on Michael and Gina’s behalf.

“… but I was so hungry and my stomach kept hurting. I would’ve tried not to eat it but there was nothing I could do with the intense stomach ache I felt at the time.” I added, sniffling.

Well, that hadn’t been a total by the way. I had woken up today with intense stomach pain, and then fasting had only made it feel a lot worse. Just when I couldn’t take it any longer, I sneakily went to the back of the house and helped
