Chapter Ninety Six

Adriana’s POV

“In case you get into trouble with Caden and you need us to intervene quickly, smokes is the safe word… smokes, never forget that.” Massimo’s last instruction replayed over and over again in my head as I stepped into Lux’s.

The place was choked up as usual and reeked of cigars, sweat, and sex… and as usual, I felt disgusted.

“How do I find him in this crowded space?” I asked, listening to Massimo’s hearty chuckle from the earpiece in my ear. I couldn’t believe that he could laugh at a time like this but before I could berate him for doing that, I heard him say something along the lines of;

“Create a scene!”

“Huh?” I asked in disbelief.

I knew that Massimo was one to enjoy creating scenes; in fact, he loved the attention he got whenever he did something relatively stupid in public but I wasn’t like that, I wasn’t like him.
