Chapter Ninety Nine

Massimo’s POV

I sat in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine in my hands whilst I stared closely at the fire as it burned away at the coal.

It’s been three hours, three scorching hours, and yet Adriana wasn’t at home. I had sent Michael back to the spot we had dropped her off but still, nothing. It felt like she had simply disappeared off the surface of the earth, leaving nothing but my confused state behind.

“Any news still?” I asked as soon as someone walked into the living room and I didn’t need to turn around to know that it was Michael. He was probably back from the search party he had put out.

“None yet. Although, a randy confessed to seeing a hot girl in a beautiful sequined dress go into the bank just across the street as soon as a car which closely resembled ours dropped her off.” He scoffed.

“So did you check the bank?” I asked him, I was quite feeling hopeful now as this was the only lead we’d had in hours. Even her goddamn phone was switched off!

“Yes I did,” he answ
