Chapter One hundred and Five

Ariana’s POV

“Where’s my mother?!” That was the first thing I said to Massimo ever since we left the abandoned house where I had been kept by either Jamie or Jannie (I think one of them was impersonating the other) and the great thing I said as soon as I got into his house which surprisingly felt like home now.

I looked around the living room, breathing in the familiar scent and feeling a sweet tingle run up my spine at the thought of being back on safe grounds.

“She’s probably asleep, she’s still on medications and her nurse gives her these anti-anxiety pills to make her relax,” he answered and for no reason, I believed him.

What I didn’t understand though was that she was taking antidepressants. “Was she involved in something when I was away?” I thought to myself but quickly shook my head to clear off the thoughts.
