Chapter One Hundred And Twelve

Adriana’s POV

I tried to be as silent as I could be while I watched Massimo cut himself out of the ropes tied around his chest and midriff. At one point, I was so careful that I found out I had been holding my breath unintentionally. I sighed.

“Are you sure you do not need my help?” I asked quietly, eyeing his bulgy chest and wondering how possible it was for him to twist around those ropes around him.

He was too bulky, and his body too rigid to move swiftly like I’d have loved him to, and I knew he also thought about that because he stopped to eye my body skeptically, but then quickly turned away to start cutting the ropes.

“I’d have asked for your help but you’re too far from me,” he replied in a whisper.

“You can as well toss the knife in my direction,” I replied, with a frown. “I can easily move around in these ropes, it’ll be easier for me to cut them.”

My reply made him snap his head in my direction again, he stared at me as if I had grown horns and with a dismissive shrug, said
