Adriana’s POV

“Are you trying to say that Lisa did this… and that she held you and Massimo hostage in the house basement while I was out on my business trip?” Massimo’s dad asked me for the nth time again and this time, I nodded without saying anything.

He seemed to be in great shock to hear that his lady dearest is a kidnapper, and I wouldn’t blame him though. That lady looked too pretty and fragile to do a thing like this.

“…And you’re sure that Massimo isn’t making you tell this lie?” He asked, making me flare up in anger.

It was one thing to not believe that your wife was a hardened criminal but another to accuse someone of lying just to get her behind bars. The part I hated the most was him implying that Massimo had made me do this simply because he was aware that Massimo hates her.

“I beg your pardon, Sir?” I seethed angrily, quickly rising to my feet but was immediately held back by Michael who draped his arms around my shoulder.
