Chapter One Hundred And Ten

Adriana’s POV

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop thinking about my encounter with Caden at the shopping mall.

Something about it still felt strange and even though I haven’t been able to wrap my head around what it was, I just couldn’t shrug it off.

Another thing that bothered me was Massimo. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him about how I had stumbled across Caden because I feared what his response would be.

Knowing the kind of person that Massimo was, he could accuse me of still having soft spots for Caden, and thus the reason I had simply let him go without informing him or the police about it.

“Eighty percent of your time these days is spent on overthinking, babe. What’s it?” Massimo’s voice snapped me out of my reverie.

I turned to look at him with a forlorn smile plastered across my face and then shrugged when he cocked his eyebrows at me. “A girl should be allowed to think sometimes,” I muttered jokingly but he wouldn’t buy it.
