“You know I love you right?” Raymond said to me as he cupped my face with both hands. I felt so happy to hear those words from him, those reassuring words before our wedding. Of course I knew he loved me, we had been together for two years and he had been the sweetest ever since. “Are you sure Ray Ray?” I asked him, even though I already knew the answer to that question. “Definitely” he responded to me with his reassuring smile that seemed to always take my burdens away. I sighed as I turned to walk towards the direction of the mirror that was in my room. I stood before the mirror, admiring myself. I was dressed in a shiny yellow dress, embellished with beautiful rhinestones and nice black heels, that went so well with my dress. I had always hated the idea of wearing a white dress during your own wedding, so I opted to go for a shiny, beautiful yellow dress that was also my favourite colour. The mirror before me, revealed a radiant soul, with a glow that shone from within, as I gazed lovingly at my reflection, lost in the depths of my own eyes. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Raymond walking towards me, with a light grin on his face. “You look really gorgeous tonight babe, I can’t wait to finally make you mine” he said to me, as he placed his right hand on my waist, spinning me around to face him. I giggled at his words, wondering what I did to deserve the greatest man that ever lived. Raymond and I met three years ago, at a small gathering led by my friends. Apparently, he had been invited by one of my friends and he had decided to actually attend. At first, I never paid him any attention, because I rarely liked to make new friends or liked to even talk to people. I had not even noticed he was there, until he walked up to me with two drinks in his hands. “Hey, may I have a seat next to you?” he asked, as he looked at me and also looked at the empty chair beside me. I was so close to letting him know that I was really not interested in talking to him, but I decided against it. “Yea sure” I said, giving him a cold reply. “Maybe if I give him a cold shoulder, he will eventually leave me alone” I thought inwardly. “Here, I got this for you” he said to me as he stretched one of his hands that held a glass of wine. “No, thank you”. I replied immediately, still giving him the cold reply and avoiding every bit of conversation with him. “And why is that?” he went further to ask, as he looked at me with a questioning gaze. I was already getting fed up with the questions, but I decided to keep my cool and not overreact or walk away. “only God knows what you have added to that drink” I said as I rolled my eyes, not even wanting to keep this conversation going, when I heard a laugh. I looked at him with curious eyes, and he was laughing. I was beginning to question what was so funny, that was making him laugh. What was making him laugh? Did I say something funny, that I did not know about?. At that moment, I stood up immediately and attempted to walk away from him, when I felt a hand grab me by my elbow, pulling me back. I gasped at the disrespect of this man. “What the hell is wrong with you?” I asked out of anger as I forcefully snatched my hand from his grasp. I took a step back, my chest heaving with anger. “Don’t you ever touch me again”, I hissed, my voice low and menacing. I could feel my heart racing with adrenaline, my mind racing with the audacity of his actions. “Whoa whoa whoa!, calm down!, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to get you all worked up, my apologies”, he replied almost immediately as he dropped the glass of wine he was holding on the table. “I am really sorry, please forgive my manners___” “Adrianna”, I responded as I immediately realized he was asking me about my name. He smiled almost instantly, after I told him my name. “Alright Adrianna, My name’s Raymond” he said, as he took a seat, urging me to do the same, as he pulled a chair for me. I shot him a glance, rolled my eyes, and sat down in the chair he had offered, folding my arms across my chest. Truth be told, now that I look at him, he didn’t look bad. He had a very well defined chiseled jaw, bright and captivating brown eyes that looked so vibrant and alive. He had golden brown hair that was styled and gelled to perfection and gave him a very good fitting. He had to be around five foot nine, contradicting my little height of just five foot six. “So, are you done staring?” he asked me a question, making me instantly blush and embarrassed. I had totally forgotten I was in my thoughts and was also staring at him. He kept looking at me, grinning from ear to ear as if I was some funny clown star, making a joke. “It’s okay” he said to me, giving me a reassuring smile, after he saw I was becoming more embarrassed and I had started using my hands to cover my face in shame. Weirdly enough, I was actually feeling attracted to him already, his smile seemed to calm my raging soul and made it peaceful, his smile was so reassuring. Raymond’s soft touch brought me back to reality, I had not even noticed that I had zoned out for that long. “Is everything alright baby? You looked so lost” he asked me, with a very worried look. “oh yes I am fine love, I just remembered the first time we met and the little argument we had. It was one hell of an argument” I replied to him as I giggled, remembering the incident that happened over again. He grinned as he cupped my face with his hands, giving me a kiss that seemed to take my breath away “Yea baby, I remember, it was a very eventful moment, now let’s prepare to spend the rest of our lives together” he said as he released me from his grip and walked out of the room. “See you at the wedding venue my future wife, or should I say my wife?” he voiced as he finally walked out of the room, and I could no longer see him. My ears twitched at those particular words, I was sure my ears were red and hot at this very moment. I spun myself around leaping for joy as I anticipated the best moments of my life in a few hours.ADRIANNA The shock on my face was as clear as day. Never in my time of staying here did my thoughts ever click to this. Not like I hated it, hell nah, it was rather the opposite, but I was just quite surprised, like really really surprised.Darka and Roland are together? What else did I not know?“I…i…i” I struggled to find words but nothing seemed to want to come out. It felt like there was a lump in my throat, stopping me from actually letting out words.Words totally couldn’t express how shocked I was, and Roland and Darka held the same shocked expression. ‘Should I just walk away?’ I thought inwardly, totally confused on what to do. Yep, that’s exactly what I’m going to do!“I…i’m so sorry!” I finally managed to say, as I immediately turned around, and began to walk away. My legs were shaky, and felt like they would give up within seconds, but I didn't even turn to look, I just kept walking.Roland and Darka chased after me, making me stop abruptly. “I…i didn’t see anything i p
ADRIANNAI just wanted to take a power nap, and i ended up sleeping for four hours straight. I thought power naps were supposed to be for about thirty minutes to an hour? How in the world did I sleep through the morning and into lunch time? Recently i have been sleeping a lot, and i guess it was because of the pregnancy. I didn’t even know if i was to be happy or sad about it.It definitely had its advantages and disadvantages. I mean, I was having enough rest, but…. It was tiring to always wake up feeling more tired than before I slept. And with Ethan back to work, I was constantly almost, always alone, except when Anna came to keep me company. But she also has things to do like taking care of the house, with the other maids. So I spent little time with her. I yawned as I got out of bed, stretching out my arms and whole body. I had to go take a shower. I needed to go see Theresa. We haven’t spoken in a long while, and I was kind of excited to see how she would react when I tell her
ETHANThe room fell silent, as if the air had been sucked out of it. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut."Excuse me?" I asked, trying to process the information. My secretary nodded, her eyes wide with concern. "Yes, sir. It's all over the news. OmniCorp's CEO, Rachel Lee, has announced a merger with NovaTech, our largest competitor."The room erupted into chaos, with shareholders shouting questions and concerns. I slammed my fist on the table, calling for order."Let's not jump to conclusions," I said, trying to regain control of the situation. "We need to understand the implications of this merger and how it affects our proposal."Mr. Johnson stood up, his face red with anger. "This changes everything," he said. "We can't compete with NovaTech's resources and market share."Mrs. Patel nodded in agreement. "We need to reconsider our strategy and prioritize damage control."I nodded, taking a deep breath. "I agree. Let's assemble a team to analyze the situation and come up with a
ETHANI stepped down from the car, straightening up my suit as best as I could. Mary had called me to let me know that the shareholders were now seated, and waiting for me to address them. I walked into my company, waving past the receptionist that had a wide smile on her face. Everything had to be in order, and i dare not fuck it up. I took the elevator up to my office. Immediately I got in, I gathered the rest of the file that I left in the office days ago, and headed to the boardroom. As I stepped into the boardroom, I was met with the piercing eyes of people who had invested their trust and money in me and my company. Ryan was also seated beside an empty chair, which was supposed to be where i would sit. I walked over to him, and took a seat.“Can we have a talk later?” I whispered to him. He looked at me for a few seconds, and then turned to face the other way.I guess that meant yes. I stood up, took a deep breath, and adjusted my tie. Time to deliver. “Ladies and gentlemen”
ETHAN“Damnit Ethan! When did all this happen?”“How could you keep something like this from me?”“I thought we were best friends” Ryan let out all these words, screaming at the top of his lungs. I knew he was seriously angry with me. I kept this away from him for months, without the intention of telling him, and now I was feeling so bad. “Well technically, she isn’t my wife yet, not until after the divorce” I said, clearing my throat.“Divorce???” Ryan said, his tone evident of so much confusion. “Ethan, what are all these about?”“I am so pissed right now”“So this was what you were hiding from me all along? I knew something was off with you, but marriage? Divorce?”“This, I didn’t expect,” he said. The other side of the phone was silent for a while, and when I was about to speak, I was interrupted.“Let’s even leave out the fact that you are married, or about to get married, i don’t care!”“You kept this away from me? Your best friend?”“At this point, I don't even think you take
ETHAN I liked the little effects I had on her. I liked that Adrianna was flushed red in front of me. My little princess. My big baby. She was the air that I breathe. “I’m angry with you” she said, slapping my hand away from her chin. I let out a little smile. “I know that, and I am here to apologize,” I said as I sat down on her bed, my weight pressing down on her soft mattress. “What would you like me to do for you?” “I’ll do anything” I said, and her eyes widened in excitement. “Really?” She asked as she adjusted herself on the bed. “Yes babe” I planted a soft gentle peck on her forehead, making her shiver a little beneath me. “Don’t_don’t call me that” she complained, her voice terribly low, but a little audible enough for me to hear. “Call you what? Babe?” I acted like I didn't know exactly what she was talking about. “I shouldn’t call you babe?” She nodded. “But you are my baby” I planted a kiss on her right hand. “Whatever!” She scoffed and I couldn't help but sm
ADRIANNA I walked out of the bathroom, drenched in little droplets of water. drying off my body, with my towel that was placed on the stand, I walked over to my wardrobe, and took out a cute nightgown that had yellow flowery designs on it. I hesitated at first, trying to see if it was something i would love to wear downstairs, as Ethan had instructed or rather begged that I come eat dinner with him downstairs.I giggled at that. “Hmm, doesn’t matter” I uttered as I stared at myself and the nightgown in the mirror. I quickly put it on, and arranged my hair in a cute messy bun. I slid into my bunny shaped flip flops, and hastily walked out of my room, not forgetting to take my phone, and also slamming the door behind me. I still hadn’t told Ethan the news, and that was exactly what i was going to do right after dinner. Descending down the stairs, i met Ethan already seated, with Anna standing right behind him. In front of him was a plate that was already filled with food. My eyebrows
ADRIANNA TWO DAYS LATER“Alright Mrs. Greene. You’re free to go now” the doctor announced, and I couldn’t help but almost leap in excitement, ignoring the little pain I still felt in my stomach area.“Thank you” i shook his hand.Just like the doctor had said, i was able to be up on my feet in two days and the pain in my belly had reduced. Although, i hadn’t made a full recovery, i was still able to leap for joy when the doctor announced that i would be discharged today.Ethan had also made sure he brought everything i needed, and anything that would make me comfy and i was so grateful for that. “Let’s go” Ethan tapped me on the shoulder, and i nodded, following behind him as he led the way outside. We got out of my hospital room, and I couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.“Feels good to be out soon” i whispered as i stretched. “It does right?” Ethan asked with a wide smile on his face. “Now let’s go home, so you can rest a lot more”We walked out of the hospital, and in fro
ADRIANNA The beeping sound woke me up. I tried to adjust to the burning light as I slowly opened my eyes. It wasn’t hard to figure out that I was in a hospital because of the white walls and the beeping monitor. I struggled to sit up but i felt too weak to even move my fingers. Turning my head to the side, i found Ethan sitting on a chair. His eyes closed and his head bowed like he was sleeping.“Ethan” i tried to call his name, but only a whisper came out. My throat felt dry, like I hadn’t drank water in days.I looked around and down at my hands. There was an iv drip connected to my hand. I waited for a little while, gathering the little strength I could muster. I took my left hand to my right hand and slowly ripped off the iv drip.I tried to stand up, but I failed again. My legs, too weak to move.Ethan must have heard my ragged breathing and painful moan, because he quickly stood up from the chair and rushed to me.“Adrianna? What are you doing? You have to stay in bed. You hav
