Chapter 3

She went back at the lounge of the prestige building of the Shawn Construction Company but not as grand as the Welling's Sky-Land Corporation's building after taking a quick break at the wash room to fixed herself a bit and she was somehow bored sitting alone outside the conference room.

She walked back quietly avoiding to interrupt the employees working inside the massive office.

Ace held a quick meeting with the CEO of the Shawns together with some investors and stock holders, after seeing the site with dissatisfaction with the materials used in their newest project located near the sea border of the city.

The construction of The La Marinae Hotel was already started, the ground flooring was already visible, they've visited the place early this morning, and the location would probably attract many tourists in the near future.

The amazing scenery of the ocean can be seen from the building itself and it was a short walk to the beautiful beach which is really popular to the tourists and the locals, the plan was amazing but when Ace checked the materials used for the building his mood suddenly changed.

It wasn't the materials they agreed on using, it was cheaper and on low quality than what they had agreed on when the project started which makes him furious.

His brother Drew didn't notice the flaws of the project, luckily they arrives back at the country soon enough to see the on-going project and avoid further problems in the near future.

She wasn't needed inside the meeting, that is why she just quietly sat on the big couch outside the conference room patiently wating for the meeting to be over.

She makes herself busy by watching the employees busy doing their jobs while facing their computers, after clearing their tight schedule for today. she already finished the cup of coffee given to her by the secretary on the front desk.

"Just tell me if you needed anything else" the beautiful woman in mid thirty's told her with a sweet smile on her face.

"Thank you!" She replied respectfully with a smile on her face.

It was almost an hour yet the meeting wasn't over.

After few more minutes the door was suddenly pushed open. She stood up quickly to meet Mr. Welling on the door. Ace was gorgeously handsome asusual even though he has a frown on his face she can easily tell that the meeting doesn't went well. She knew it from the looks on his face.

He blinked few times after seeing a familiar face standing at the doorway, his heart skipped a beat in an instant when he recognized her, that was the face he was missing these fast few years and although she was wearing a thick eye glasses his heart knew who she was.

Seeing the way she follows Mr. Welling, he was sure she was working for the man.

Seeing the way his boss intently looking at something, Paul curiously followed his gaze. He was dumbfounded after recognizing her. She was the one they were looking for all of this time.

This can't be real. He thought. Paul felt as if he saw a ghost back to life.

"Sir do you want me to know everything about her?" He asked curiously.

"No need." James seriously replied then stood up there quickly and walked in the same direction where Mr. Welling went in a swift move.

He wanted to know by himself. Paul just followed him quietly from behind..

She pressed the button of the elevator and it took minutes before it opens.

"are we going back to the office sir?" She formally asked breaking the silence between them when they entered the elevator.

"Yes. I need to discuss something with Drew, regarding the project." He replied talking about his younger brother who manage their business here.

The door was about to close when a strong hand stopped it from closing and a familiar demeanor entered the elevator before it totally closes, she suddenly froze after recognizing him in an instant and her palm started sweating.

She felt her body stiffened, and her heart started pounding fast, she doesn't need to take a second glance to recognized who he was, she knew every inch of him.

His presence is suffocating her and that quick elevator ride seemed endless and she wanted to run and hide and wished the ground swallowed her whole. She hated herself for reacting that way towards this person.

"Uhm!" Clearing his throat from behind after seeing Mr. James Mazon staring intently focused on his assistant who seemed suddenly frozen and uncomfortable after seeing the guy beside her. This is interesting. He thought with a smirk.

"Mr. Mazon! You seem to know my assistant? Does she done something wrong to you?" His voice startled the man but he instantly regained his composure.

"Not really Mr. Welling. I've mistaken her for someone else." He replied in a formal yet sarcastic tone and turned his gaze away from her.

She felt as if a thousand needles struck her chest when she heard him deny her like that, she was really hurt and offended by his words but she avoided showing any expressions at all as if she doesn't heard him, she still thanked Ace in her mind for breaking his intense gaze at her.

"What was that Summer? Do you happen to know Mr. Mazon or did you somehow offended him?" He curiously asked her without looking at her, he was sitting on the back seat of the car looking outside the window but she can see his facial reaction through the rare view mirror.

"No sir." She answered in an un-interested tone.

After hearing the name, Jake gave her a knowing look but she just ignores him. She would just tell him what had happened later.

After hearing her indiferent tone he didn't asked further questions but the curiosity within him lingers.

He saw theres something behind James Mazon's eye when he stares at Summer Ashton a while ago, a longing look and he can decipher theres something going on between the two of them and it caught his curiosity in an instant.

How can this ugly girl caught the attention of a well known man like James Mazon. Interesting! He thought.

She couldn't slept that night. She hated herself for feeling that way towards James. She thought she was over him this fast few years but the way her body reacts around him confirms her that she was far from over.

All these time she believed that she was strong and she was ready to face him already but she's definitely wrong and worst of all she misses him so badly.

James was a perfect loving husband. She doesn't have a dull moments with him, she can't even remember a thing they disagreed on and she was blessed with a good life except the fact that his family mistreated her behind his back.

She remembers how James treated her as a queen, and kisses her fears away, and stand by her side no matter what happens.

He was her knight in shining armor, he even stand by her side even his family dis-owned him.

A perfect couple and a perfect lovestory, who would have thought their relationship would end up painfully and he would just threw her like trash.

But despite everything that happened she hates to admit it but she's longing for him and shes dying to throw herself at him when she sees him today.

A part of her wanted to forgive him and get back to him but theres also a part of her that hated him so badly. Her heart and mind was in a battle, and she cried in her sleep that night.
