CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY Three

I watched as Tyla packed up her bags, her movements swift and efficient. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness, knowing that she was leaving. Damon walked into the room, his eyes locked onto Tyla's. "Hey, Jess, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice soft. I nodded, curious. "What's up, Damon?" I asked, walking over to him. Damon's eyes locked onto mine, his expression serious. "I was wondering if you'd consider not going with Tyla back to the Cornrow pack," he said, his voice filled with emotion. I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Why?" I asked, curious. Tyla spoke up, her voice soft. "Because, Jess, I need some time to heal. And everything in the Cornrow pack...it's just too much. It'll never let me heal." I nodded, understanding. I knew that Tyla had been through a lot, and the Cornrow pack was a constant reminder of her past. I couldn't blame her for wanting to get away from it all. "Okay, Tyla," I said, smiling softly. "I'll stay here with Damon. You go and take care of yourself." Tyla's face lit up with a smile, and she walked over to me, pulling me into a tight hug. "Thank you, Jess," she whispered. "I owe you one." As I walked down the hallway, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. We had just dropped Tyla off at the Cornrow pack, and I was glad that she was safe. Just as I turned a corner, I ran into Jay. He looked up at me, his eyes filled with a mix of guilt and sincerity. "Jess, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice soft. I nodded, curious about what he wanted to say. We stepped to the side of the hallway, out of the way of the other pack members. "Jess, I'm so sorry for ignoring you when you needed me the most," Jay said, his eyes locked onto mine. "I was wrong to push you away, and I realize now that I was dealing with my own issues in the worst possible way." I looked at him, seeing the genuine remorse in his eyes. I felt a pang of hurt, remembering how he had ignored me when I needed him most. "I'm not angry, Jay," I said, my voice calm. "But I was hurt. I felt like I wasn't important to you, like you didn't care about my feelings." Jay's face fell, and he looked down, his eyes avoiding mine. "I'm so sorry, Jess," he whispered. "That was never my intention." As I walked down the hallway, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. "That was never my intention." I took a deep breath, trying to process my emotions. "I need time to heal, Jay," I said, my voice firm. "I need time to think about us and what happened." Jay's face fell, but he nodded. "I understand," he said. "I'll give you all the time you need." But then I had to ask the question that had been burning in my mind. "Did you sleep with Sara?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Jay's eyes dropped, and he didn't answer. He didn't have to. I knew. I felt a pang of hurt and betrayal. "You did, didn't you?" I accused, my voice shaking. Jay still didn't answer, but he looked up at me, his eyes filled with regret. Just then, Damon walked up to us. "Hey, guys, we need to go," he said, his voice urgent. "The rogue pack is getting restless." Jay turned to Damon, his eyes pleading. "Damon, please talk to her," he said. "She's not listening to me." Damon looked at me, his expression sympathetic. "Jess, please," he said. "We need you. We can't do this without you." I sighed, feeling torn. A part of me wanted to walk away, to leave Jay and his mistakes behind. But another part of me knew that I couldn't abandon my pack, not when they needed me most. Damon turned to Jay, his expression firm. "Jay, you need to respect Jess's decision and give her the time and space she needs to heal." Jay's face fell, and he looked like he wanted to argue. But after a moment, he nodded, his eyes dropping. "Fine," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. With that, Jay turned and walked away, leaving Damon and me alone. Damon turned to me, his eyes filled with concern. He reached out and gently squeezed my shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft. I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions. I was hurt, angry, and confused. But with Damon's gentle touch and kind words, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. "I'll be fine," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Damon nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "I'm here for you, Jess," he said. "Whatever you need, I'm here."

CHAPTER ONE Tyla Point of view"Happy Birthday, darling." I felt his warm lips on my cheeks as he gently kissed them. Slowly, I opened my eyes, and I smiled, seeing Damon, my boyfriend, with his beautiful features. He stood before me, while I lay on the bed smiling, like I had won a lottery. "So because today is your birthday, I brought you something extraordinary," he told me as he pulled a bag from behind him. I was awed by his gesture and received the bag he had brought. "You did not have to go this far babe..." I expressed as I pushed my lips forward. "Open it, my love," He urged me further, and out of the excitement, I dipped my hand into the box and gasped realizing he had gotten for me a necklace dressed up in the symbols of royalty."My goodness, this is beautiful and also expensive," I said, while he grabbed the necklace from my hand and wore it on my neck."Now this looks perfect," He remarked, helping me up to my feet. "You know I will get you the world if it's poss

CHAPTER TWOTyla's Point of viewI could hear the beeping of machines. My heartbeat sounded like it was beating in my chest. I tasted and smelt antiseptic, and I wondered what that feeling was. "We have studied her anatomy and found out that her wolf has become really stronger than it used to be." My eyes flew open the moment I heard voices and they landed on a man dressed up in a white lab coat and a very much older man, staring at him with desperation across his face. I looked around to see myself lying on a bed in a room. Multiple wires were connected to my hands and a machine. My heart sank deeply. Of course, I knew a hospital by simply judging from the scent. And now, my eyes were open, and I could see that the room I was inside was a hospital for real. I was trying to connect the dots in my head when another voice sounded. "Oh, she is awake!" The man expressed and the older man rushed over to meet with me, desperation soaked up in his face."Are you okay Annie?" "Annie? My

My room was well decorated, like the princess that I was. I scoffed. An Alpha King would never have this all pink around her room. Annie's king-sized bed lay in a corner of the room. It was bathed with wealth, and I liked it. The only thing odd about it was the fact that she was girlie and had so much girlie stuff here. I was an alpha. The soldiers had been positioned outside the room to watch over me, but my curiosity increased at that moment. Who

My mind was rather preoccupied with something else. How did Damon become a rogue King in the first place? "Why is he a rogue King?" I asked."I thought I told you the incident that happened?" The king asked, staring at me with concern.I shrugged my shoulders, eager to hear what had happened."Several wolves were cast out of their various packs and one of them is Damon. So what did Damon do? He thought it was a great idea to rule over every one of them and that is exactly what he did." I begin to wonder if this tale he was narrating happened before I met Damon or after I had been executed in my previous life."You don't have to worry about the man you are going to get married to because I
