ALEX'S P. O. V

"Are you sure you are fine?"

Noah continues to fuss over her as if shes some fragile omega, she is an omega but this man did not know that. Noah leaned in for a kiss but she held her hand to stop the kiss from connecting and he smiles up at him.

"Yesss. It does not hurt that bad anymore. Sorry for- you know for being rude earlier... You know the whole me being a raging bitch thing."

She forgot she lied about the excruciating pain, she just wanted aspirin and coke without questions. Let's not forget the amount of time she spent panicking in the bathroom, she just realized how fertile she was and was stupid enough to not have protected sex. She mentally kicked herself taking doubled dosage of the suppressant pill and spent the rest of the morning packing before watching Tiktoks on the bed. The coke and aspirin in some cases can be used as an efficient morning after pill, drinking both was just to make sure her mistake does not haunt her in the future.

"I love you and everything that comes with you although next time can I get a heads up?"

Noah teased and she swears at that that moment he has never been interested in anyone or anything as she was this incredible man before him. Perhaps her bar of what makes a good alpha is low but common she cannot be tripping here. She is not tripping, right?

"Okay. I took the sheets with me so you will have to pay and lie about why they are gone."

I ran out when Noah started talking with the employees, I was embarrassed when they all faced my direction. They bowed to Noah and Noah joined me bringing me in his arms. Toby and Lucas finally joined them and they took a two hour drive. They dropped Lucas and Toby in front of large gates before a beautiful house, is this Noah's pack? The homes are big, beautiful and the scenery just perfect as they drove to this alphas home.

"Ah. Noah my handsome son. Xing! Noah is at the door. Oh my. This must be your guest?"

"Alex."

Noah introduced her and his mother stared at her son in confusion, she knows in the normal world she would never be Noah's ideal type. She tried to play her hurt off as embarrassment and the mother clicked her fingers before she smiled her sons smile.

"You mean you are the Alex? Axx… Alex the medical student? As in Alex my sons date to the wedding? Alex my sons alleged fated?"

"Yes mam. It is a pleasure to meet you (she held out her hand), my name is Alex Marx."

His mother held her hand acknowledging her shy greetings, bowing slightly she never broke curious contact. She said nothing although she did blankly stare at the duo dumbly. She awkwardly smiled wondering what this alpha told his mother about her, about them. They decided to wait silently for Noah's mothers as she processed everything. What eased her anxiety that was building was the reassuring hand that held on to hers. The hands locked together did not go unnoticed because the face she pulled was kinda comical.

"Hey son. You have grown. It has been a minute. This house has been boring without you. Oh. Who is this young lady?"

Before the two could answer, Noah's mother found her words and she interjected with her graceful smile. She leaned in to give Alex a hug but her PTSD forced her to flinch expecting the woman hand to connect with her face. Instead Noah's mother hugs her although she is certain it did not go unnoticed under the rest of Noah's families' eye.

"Does Noah-"

She twisted Noah's ear and Noah let out a surprised yelp. She was about to twist his ear harder when she shook her head no holding on to Noah's arm, in the mist of his pain he still smiled for her.

"Mom you hurting me and scaring Alex."

His mother let go of his ear and she looked at his father to do something, Noah is not moving nor is he defending himself. She growled as pulled Noah behind her, she does not know these people but she will not allow them to hurt him.

"Axx relax its just a matter of explaining. Mom I swear I don't lay my hand against woman and Axx my mother did not really hurt me, Look."

His ear is red but him turning around gave her prospective to how ridiculous she must look right now. She did a brief reading on his culture she should have just stayed back, she bowed extremely embarrassed of her actions.

"I'm apologized, sometimes I'm too quick to act."

Fuck. She blew her first impression. She internally begged the earth to sallow her whole, at this point she wish she can just mentally kick herself back home or if only she could jump of a cliff. Thankfully his mother did not focus on his embarrassing first impression.

"Xing... This is our son's girlfriend, friend Alex. Alex this is my not so funny husband Xing and I am Prem but you can call me ma."

"Our sons what?"

His voice rose in question. His father seems to be very angry, did not sound angry or maybe his just loud but just to make sure she stepped behind the alpha (Noah will be her handsome shield). She could not hide the slight hurt that she feels literally after everyone finds out that they are sorta dating, their reaction was not far from this and it is really starting to sting now. Perm slapped her husband's arm and she completely ignored his protest. She gently pushed her mate one side leaving him to stir in his confusion. She welcomed them into their incredibly large and magnificent house. Now he gets why Noah is the way he is, his parents...

"Mom-Mom what is the commotion about? You know some of us are trying to study. This is my final year in high school and I need good grades to get into Moon University… Oh sorry, who is this? Good day."

A kid shorter than her walks in wearing cute nerdy glasses, a pink cape and adorable dinosaur in door shoes. Weird but cute. Even her hair is long in a pony tail, her plumped smile is as perfect as that one dimple she has. She looks funny, not in a way a person would laugh at her appearance but as if she was a kid going to a costume party. This tom boyish girl reminds her of herself before she was forced by life to grow up too fast. This adorable angel is the weird geeky side of herself that she lost. That when she came in to the space bitching about studying, instead of being wary or annoyed she gave her a genuine smile.

"Ora. Where are your manners, huh?"

Perm scolds the adorable girl who bows her head in apology. He then he looks up at her as if asking her to forgive her rude behavior. Cute. She smiles at the very cute nerd girl and waved of her apology, she didn't know of her arrival is the one intruding here. She had this unexplainable need to squeeze her adorable cheeky cheeks and protect this young woman as a sister would, as she was never.

"Pardon her rudeness, Alex. Ora. Sometimes I feel like we did not raise her right… This is my eldest daughter's daughter, Ora… Ora this is your uncles, uh girlfriend."

"Girlfriend?! You so pretty... you know loneliness could have been a better option than-"

Noah ran to muffle his niece mouth with his hand and tasseled her hair stopping her from completing her funny sentence.

"Don't listen to this idiot."

"Idiot? I want to study education to educate you but I will most probably study one of my passions, culinary arts."

"Uhm… It is truly nice to meet you Ora. My name is Alex but a lot of people call me Lex."

"Alex, that's a nice name. Quick question, what is your nature? What I meant say is you smell different. I am confused."

"Sorry Alex for my grand-daughter inquiry… As you noticed she just turned eighteen and she is yet to identify her nature. She's a late bloomer, I am sure shes just curious if it's normal and indeed it is normal.

She assured her grand-daughter who looked up at her expecting and answer. Suddenly uncomfortable Alex looked at the cute girl then at Noah. She still couldn't do it, this secret is her last defense to independent control but Ora reminds her so much of herself that she said the first thing that came to mind.

"There is nothing wrong with you, they are studies worldwide that indicate that some genes are dormant although for how long is yet to be determined. One case lasted almost a life time. Your wolf and your nature can be dormant for several reasons which I don't think you will understand as of yet. Give it time, knowing your nature is not always the best thing. Trust me, there is nothing wrong with you. For as long as you can, enjoy the freedom."

She smiles at the cute cheeks and she fixed the hair Noah messed up. Honestly that was not as bad as she imagined. She didn't need to expose her nature to help a child and for that, she was truly grateful.

"Thank you… I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable calling you by your name. Since Uncle Noah is your 'boyfriend'... although I still think you can do much better (Noah growl and the tiny figure shrinks)…"

"Noah."

She gave Noah a pointed glare to stop him from bullying their junior. Noah stopped and took a step back and the younger stared at her in bewilderment.

"Wow. You are amazing! Mom-mom, papa did you see that? Can I call you sis Lexi too? Please…"

"Sis Lexi?"

She face Noah to explain why she cannot just use her name like everyone else.

"It is a form of respecting someone older than you, this pack has a strict leader in adequate behavior." -Noah

"Hey. We wolves not animals." –Perm

Technically wolves are animals but he got their combined points and he looked at the adorable she wolf that held on to her side like they have known each other for years.

"Call me whatever you feel comfortable calling me."

"Sissy, go put on appropriate clothes and come joins us."

Together Noah's parents are open, naturally friendly that their company made you feel at ease. Noah's niece is more opinionated, nerdy, childlike, and adorable a beautiful image of what was stolen from her. As a child she would spend countless nights hoping her father would comes back and save her but years passed... She felt so alone and she did not want to mention the childhood wonder she wasted in that hell.

Now shes here, in a new pack there is stability, love, security and a sense of loyalty. They are just the family that she has always wanted but was never blessed with one. Fighting back tears she went on to observing not knowing she is also being observed by concerned eyes.

"Noah dear. I prepared your bedroom, I did assume you would share with your guest but if there is a time you want your own room call me… Here is my phone number."

She winks at her and she smiles, liking the woman already.

"Mom. Don't give her ideas on how to leave me!"- Noah whines

"Aww... I am just teasing you, you overgrown child. Alex dear this one is a handful and I have got to say his more of a headache than that one over there."

"Mom."

"Mom-mom."

They cried simultaneously. One coming from the other direction wearing comfortable clothing. She sat back with a smile enjoying the moment, the bond in this family, especially the relationship between mother and son.

"Just go drop off your bags and come down when you ready. Then we can enjoy lunch as a family."

Family? Family. Family…
