Chapter 4

Zoe's pov

It's 20 minutes after 8 and I still didn't hear from Blake. He doesn't answer any of my calls or texts. I am getting nervous and Aurora is also restless in my head, but instead of panicking that he doesn't want to talk to me anymore, she is worrying that something happened to him. And me too. 

I wait for another 10 minutes and when I am going to give it up, he calls. 

"Hey Rose, I'm so sorry for being late and that I didn't text you or something. I had a meeting with Alpha and I couldn't get here in time. But I will make it up to you, I promise."

"It's okay Blake, I understand, I also have sometimes problems with my Alpha." Aurora chuckles in my head, because technically Nate is my Alpha so we argue sometimes, but not about pack business, just brother-sister arguing. 

"Yeah, sometimes it's hard, but back to our date, so Brooklyn 99?"

"Yes, do you want to share the screen or do you want me to share the screen, I don't care about that."

"I will share, just a sec, I have to prepare it on my mac."

"Okey, so why haven't you seen it already?"

"I just, I have it on my list to watch but didn't have time to watch it, with school and other stuff I am glad when I get to bed before midnight. But now with you, I try to make time for things I want to do, mainly things with you."

"That's bad, I always try to make time for some alone time or to go with my friends somewhere, or to spend time with my brother, but sometimes it's hard."

"So it is ready, and I know that you have already seen it and also it's getting late, so don't worry about falling asleep, okay Rose?"

"Okey Blake, I hope you will like it."

We have watched 5 episodes when I am starting to fall asleep, I inform Blake about that and lie down. I don't know when, but I think that he said 'I love you' but I think that I must have dreamed it already. 

I wake up with my morning alarm at 5 am. I stretch my arms and legs and get up from bed to wash my face and do my morning routine. I always listen to songs and sing along. We have soundproof walls in every room in the packhouse because with werewolves hearing you don't want to hear everything in the packhouse. I go back to bed when I hear Blake's voice.

"You have a beautiful voice, it's a nice thing to wake up with much better than my alarm sound."

"OMG BLAKE, you scared me, I forgot to check if we ended our call!"

"Yes, I thought that, but thank you for singing to me in the morning. Also, why do you wake up so early? It's just 5:30 am. What are you going to do?"

"I like to run in the morning when nobody is around and I can also let my wolf out and she can hunt."

"That sounds great. Now I am jealous and also glad that you woke me up so early." 

"You are welcome, but I have to go now, I will text you later. Goodbye Blake."

I end the call and go to my closet to change. I am wearing a black sports bra and black leggings with light green ends. I grab some spare clothes to wear after shifting and go check on Nate. I find him still sleeping so I just kiss him on the forehead and go outside to run. 

After my run, I change into comfortable clothes and go to my office. I have more paperwork to do. Yes, being an Alpha, in my case, a Luna is not easy work as everybody thinks. It's a lot of paperwork, meetings, and dealing with the council and other Alphas, which is exhausting, but I like it. 

It's Saturday so today I have a 2-hour session with Nate about pack's stuff. Like how to pay taxes or our bills and other things to pay. I teach him things he will have to do as an Alpha. And sometimes I let him decide what to do about rogues or our contracts with neighboring packs. But I still have about 6 hours before Nate will come. 

I didn't hear someone knocking on the door when I was working. So when I look up to stretch my neck and arms I jump from my chair when I see Karen, chief of omegas, in my office with a tray full of food and drink. 

"Hi Karen, you scared me a little. Why didn't you knock?"

"Good morning Zoe, I did knock, but you didn't hear me and also you weren't at breakfast, so I bring something to you. You have to eat my dear. "

"Thank you so much, Karen. I don't know what I would do without you. You are my lifesaver."

"Oh dear, you don't have to thank me, you know I would do anything for you. I will let you work, but at least eat something."

"Thank you, Karen, will you please tell Nate, that he can come whenever he will be free?"

"Of course dear"

"Thanks again"

She leaves the room and I grab a cup of coffee and take toast with Nutella and get back to work. Karen is something like our mother, after our parents died, she takes care of us. She makes sure that we eat, and that we are happy and she always listens when we want to talk about something, or when I argue with Nate she makes sure that we don't kill each other. She takes care of everyone in the pack and we all love her and treat her well. But to me and Nate, she is our mother figure, mainly for Nate, because he was young when our parents died. 

After about 4 hours Nate comes in and we work together. He is learning fast, like in school. And he also has common sense about what's good or what's not. So I just have to make sure, that he knows everything to do, and also when to pay for everything and everyone. We don't have omegas as slaves, they are servants and they get paid. We want everyone to feel good in our pack. 

Today went by quickly and I agreed with Blake to repeat our date. So now I am waiting for his call. I don't have to wait for long like yesterday because he calls exactly at 8. 

"Hi Rose, how are you today?"

"Hi Blake, fine, just tired, you?"

"Yeah, the same, I have some work to do so I am glad that I can relax with you. Also, I have to ask, Will you be waking up tomorrow at 5 am too?"

"Yes, I like to run every day, I am calmer and have a better bond with my wolf, when I shift and let her hunt every day, I recommend it."

"Okey, will you wake me up too? And we can talk when we run, what do you think? Evenings with movies and mornings running? It will be our pre-scheduled dates."

"That sounds great, okay I agree."

"Great, I love spending time with you, and the more, the better."

"Okay, I love spending time with you too, but I am so tired that I think I will asleep as soon as we will start watching, so I am sorry."

"It's okay Rose, I get it, so I will prepare it so you can get to sleep."

"Thank you, Blake, for everything"

"You are very welcome"

He starts another episode and after a while, I fall asleep.
