Chapter 3

Zoe's pov

Today I have a meeting with pack elders. Elders are wolves that are retired from higher positions in our pack, like warriors, betas, and alphas, but after the war, most of them were dead, so any retired wolfs are our elders because we are now smaller so we make decisions together, it's not like I can't decide alone, but it is refreshing that I do not have to be alone in this position. But when Nate will become Alpha, it won't work like that. The elders will just help him if he will ask them, but because I'm just a temporary luna, we work together for the pack.

The meeting was all morning and now I am having lunch in my office and having thoughts about Blake. It's Aurora who keeps telling me to call him. And speaking of the devil, the phone rings. 

"Hey Rose, am I interrupting you?"

"Hi Blake, no, I just wanted to call you." 

"What a coincidence, so what are you doing?"

"Just having lunch after school." That was not a complete lie, because we were also discussing my college, I am in my first year, but I make the arrangements to study a long distance and online, so I have classes just twice a month and then it's self-study. 

"Uuu, what do you study?"

"It's my first year in med school and I am excited."

"Med school? That is so hard and cool. I never expect that from you, but I should. You are an intelligent and brave woman, so you can do anything you want." 

"Thanks, it's hard, but not so much as I was expecting. Even though I just started, I think that I can make all my classes exams without studying hard like everyone else. And what about you and school?"

"I am in business school, like management and finances. But I am also thinking about going to IT school, I can't make up my mind about what I want to do."

"So you want to have 3 different degrees? That's so cool, you must be such a nerd."

"Hey, I m not a nerd, I just like these things, and school is too easy for me, I can't help it."

"It's okay, I understand, my brother is the same. He just sits in class and gets straight A and he doesn't have to study anything. It's fascinating, I think it's in our family."

"That's so cool. And what are you planning for tonight?"

"I don't know, I think I will watch some movie or something like that, you?"

"I was thinking, that we could watch something together, we can make a video chat, and we don't have to turn on our cameras if you have a problem with that. What do you think?"

I was so stunned, that I can't speak so I hang up. I know it is rude to him, but I am not sure about that. Even though we chat for like a month, we exchanged the numbers yesterday, it's so soon. He tries to call me again, but I can't pick up the call. Is it a date? Should we turn on the cameras? Do I want that? I just wanted help from someone who also lost parents and knows a thing or two about grief. So 6 months ago I joined an online chat room and started chatting with other people. And after 4 months Blake joined the group. We have some opinions on things and we become friends so we started chatting on private chat. And that was it. 

'It wouldn't be bad to watch a movie with him, we can turn off the cameras, but I think he deserves that after what he did for us.' Aurora says. She is right, like always. He helped us so much before, I had nightmares and panic attacks and he taught me some breathing techniques. And it stopped. So I owe him now. But first I have to tell him about me being a werewolf. So I won't have fake hope for our relationship, because I want to have some with him. I like him.  So I call him. 

"Sorry Blake, my battery died so I had to find my charger, but I am here now. So I will give you an answer to your question, but I need to ask you something too before that, is it okay?"

"I am also sorry Rose, I should have known that I am too fast for you, I just like you so much and want more than be friends with you. But that is for another time, what do you want to ask me?"

"I like you too Blake, but I need to tell you something about me. I do not want you to be scared of me and I do not want to lose you, so I just have to say it and you can hang up and think about it, but please talk to me if you have some questions. So I want you to know that I am a were..." I don't have time to finish it because he interrupts me. 

"YOU ARE A WEREWOLF TOO!?" Blake shouts, but I can not believe it. He is a wolf too. That's so great. But also bad, because we have mates and once someone finds a mate, we will have to probably stop talking to each other. 

"And you are too? I am so glad, it will make things so much easy, and I do not have to worry that I say something disturbing. But I do not know what I would do if you were human. So thank you for being a wolf."

"Omg, I can not believe it. You are a wolf. My Rose is a wolf. It's so great. But back to the beginning. What about our date today?"

"Yes, we can watch a movie together, but I don't want to turn on the cameras. I like you, really do, but it is too soon for me, is it okay?"

"Of course it is okay, why wouldn't be? I am so excited, so what do you want to watch? a movie? A tv show? You can pick anything you want."

"Anything? Oh Blake, you just made a big mistake, but I will go easy on you, so what about a TV show? Have you seen Brooklyn 99?"

"No, but I have always wanted, so we can start from the beginning. So is 8 pm ok?"

"Yes, so we will hear in the evening, but I have to go now. But thank you, Blake, for everything, I owe you so much."

"You owe me nothing Rose, I did nothing and if you think I did something, it was nothing. But I am excited to see you tonight. See you later."

He hangs up and I get back to work. I have so much paperwork to sign and also I have to plan a welcome ceremony for new pack members. Even though we are a small pack and only some high-ranked werewolves from the council and some neighboutŕing packs know that we exist, members from other packs or some rogues can join our pack. But I have to check their background information, like why they want to leave, if they have a criminal record, where are they working and many more, so I have a lot of work to do. But in 99% of cases, we let them join us because they will be useful for our pack.

I forgot to set alarm so I would have time to prepare for the date. Now I am running to my room, which is a small apartment with a living area with a small kitchen corner when I want to make coffee or tea and don't want to go downstairs then I have a large bedroom with an attached bathroom and a walking closet. When I think about it, it's not a small apartment, it's an apartment with a small kitchen. So I ran into my closet and grab the first thing I like and go to the bathroom to have a quick shower. I love to spend time in my large bathtub but I have just 10 minutes before our date. I left my hair to dry naturally, I have jet-black hair which ends halfway down my back. But we won't have on our cameras so I don't have to comb it. I get my notebook and find a comfortable position in my bed and wait for him to call.
