Chapter 116

Hazel’s POV

She stared the shadows down, snarling and growling loudly, and in an instant, lunged towards them in anger. They were immediately startled and left Lorena alone.

She weakly fell to her knees and was covered in blood. I managed to grab her and pull her out of the chaos as the shadows now went after Kaya, as their new target.

They clawed her lush black fur and I could hear her yelping in pain and agony.

“Kaya, no. What are you doing?! Get out of there!” said Lorena weakly.

Kaya’s fur was soon soaked in her own blood and she fell weakly on her limbs to the floor. Her yelping grew weaker and weaker.

“Kaya!”

Lorena tried to go after her but I held her back. There was no use. She was weak and Kaya was already overwhelmed by the shadows. If she went after her, they would both die.

“Lorena, stop! You can’t save her! You’ll die!”

“I’d rather die than let her die! Let go of me, Hazel!”

I held on even tighter to her though she struggled in my grip.

“Kaya no! Get up! Get up!”
