Chapter 122

Hazel’s POV

I watched in horror as they swarmed Kaya. Her screams were getting quieter by the second. We all tried to save her but we couldn’t get close enough. Ryder was slammed against the wall but he shook himself off and charged again.

The Shadows didn't hurt him, but simply kept him at bay. They knew what they were doing. I could see the glee in their faces. They wanted us to watch her die slowly in pain and agony.

“Kaya!!!”

Lorena was screaming at the top of her voice but there was nothing that she could do. Finally they stopped and stood away from her.

I covered my mouth in horror and let out a scream. There was almost nothing left of her. Her rosy sweet face was mutilated beyond recognition. Her body was still and her eyes stared, dead, into empty space.

“Kaya!!!”

I screamed but it did nothing for her. She still lay there; a pile of bleeding flesh.
