Hazel’s POV

I held my breath as Jasper stared at her. He quickly glanced at me and I shook my head. He wasn’t to say anything to her.

“Kaya, you should go to your room. You shouldn’t be here.”

Ryder’s voice was deep and commanding but it was almost as if she hadn’t heard a thing that he said.

She walked up even closer and peered intently at Jasper’s leg with child like curiosity. I had just realized that he looked better. His legs were healing up nicely and so were his arms and the scratches on his face.

She stuck out her hand and was about to poke Jasper’s foot but she stopped short.

“Does it hurt?” she asked him innocently.
