KABANATA 35

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ“I AM the father,” namamangha nyang bulong sa sarili habang pinagmamasdan ang DNA results.

Wala sa sariling ibinaba ni Jared ang papel na hawak. He recalled what happened that night— and it just made so much sense that the woman reminded him of Lorraine so much. From her scent to her voice, and the way she suddenly disappeared when Jared was expecting someone to use that ‘night’ against him.

Everything made sense.

The woman from that night didn’t vanish through thin air! It was Lorraine who was sent to jail for ‘stealing someone else’s life’ after all.

“Anong resulta, sir?” nagtatakang tanong ni Amir.

Napalunok si Jared bago nya ito pinangunutan ng noo. “Tell everyone to search for Lorraine immediately. Make sure to find her within the week at least.”

“Ha? E isang linggo na nga tayong naghahanap tapos gusto mo pang pabilis—”

“Tell them to find her within the week or else...” he trailed off before he glared at Amir. “This is urgent.”
