Becca's POV

It had been two days since I ruined Lola's special day and probably lost my best friend, all because I let my emotions get the best of me.

I stared at my phone, looking at the blue ticks indicating that Lola had read my message, but there was still no response. I couldn't blame her. Anyone would be hurt by my actions.

God, I wished all this could just come to an end.

With a sigh, I ran my hands through my hair, dropping my phone in defeat as I laid back on my bed, staring at the white ceiling. Thoughts swirled in my mind, primarily revolving around Naomi. Why had she shown up so suddenly? She seemed fine—if not perfect. A part of me resented her, while another part couldn't blame her. Maybe the pressure had been too much, and she just had to walk away. She looked happy.

But then there was the sign in the woods. I really hoped it wasn't her. Maybe it was some crazy witch that had survived and been in hiding but decided it was time for revenge. The thought made me shi

My jaw tightened as I struggled to suppress the rage bubbling inside me.As if sensing my turmoil, Becca's hands gently found mine under the table, her fingers lacing through mine. Her touch was a grounding force, but even that was barely enough."Let's go," Becca said softly, her gaze fixed on Naomi as we stood to leave. Naomi seemed on the verge of speaking, but Aria raised a hand, signaling for her to let us go.My mind raced as we headed to the pack house. If my father had discovered the witches' sudden reappearance, he would be furious. The potential fallout was unimaginable."Everything's going to be fine," Becca's voice broke through the chaos in my mind, a soothing presence amid the storm."I wish it was that simple," I replied, my voice taut with tension. Becca's POV Bas was right; in the two weeks since the incident, things had died down. The witches were adept at hiding, and soon Darius's anger subsided. But I knew he wasn't one to easily forget. He was still setting his trap, and I had to be careful. My phone beeped with a message from Naomi. I had asked to meet her, and for safety, we decided to meet at the lake shore—a place werewolves rarely visited. There was a knock on my car window, jolting me back to reality. Turning, I saw Naomi. I unlocked the door, allowing her in. She slid into the seat, looking tense yet determined. "Thanks for seeing me again," she said. "Considering how things were the last time, I wasn't expecting your call." "Believe me, if it weren't for certain situations, I wouldn't have," I replied. She nodded, understanding. "I understand your pain, but I hope you'll be able to understand mine." I wanted to yell at her, to pour out my hurt over her betrayal, but I took a deep breath. It was best to

Becca's POV"Welcome," Aria said with a warm smile as I walked into the apartment. After hours of sleeplessness and restless thoughts, I had finally decided to come over."Yes, I know. I was really excited when Naomi told me you wanted to see me," she continued, gesturing for me to take a seat. "Tea?""No, I'm fine," I replied, my voice steady but my nerves on edge. She nodded, pouring herself a cup and taking a leisurely sip. "So, why are you here?"My heart skipped a beat as I glanced at her, then at Naomi, who gave me an encouraging nod."Naomi told me the oak tree was destroyed. Thanks to you," I said, trying to keep my voice even."Ah, yes. It was important for her to cleanse herself from every negative energy," Aria responded, her tone calm and unbothered."And that includes the tree?" I pressed, my irritation bubbling just beneath the surface. "Do you realize that you have endangered countless generations of innocent girls tied to that forsaken prophecy?"Aria remained unfazed,

Becca POVIt had been two days since I found out the truth about the oak tree. I tried to focus on my daily routine, smiling more often, not wanting to give away my wary heart, especially to Bas, who could easily tell when I was hurting. Not wanting to dwell on the troubling revelation, I turned my attention to something else that had been bothering me—my lovely friend Lola, whom I had abandoned during this time. When I heard a knock on the door, my heart raced. I opened it to find Lola standing there, her arms crossed and a scoff escaping her lips. "I was just thinking you were going to keep subbing me forever.""Lola," I said, a wave of relief washing over me. I had been nervous ever since I sent her the message asking her to meet at my apartment. I thought she wouldn't respond, and even if she didn't, I wouldn't have blamed her."Thanks for coming," I said, my voice filled with gratitude. She gave a small nod and stepped inside. As we walked in, Lola froze, her eyes widening in sho

Becca's POV"I'll do it.""What?" "I said I'll do it," I repeated, standing in front of Naomi and Aria.Naomi sighed, a mixture of relief and apprehension evident in her eyes, as she walked towards me. "You've made the right choice," she said softly."I hope so," I replied, my voice steady but my heart pounding.Aria's voice cut through the tension, sharp and commanding. "Why? Why did you choose to join us?"Taking a deep breath, I faced her. "Because as much as I love Bas, I can't lose my family. I thought about it all night. I want to grow old with the people I love, and if you can stop the prophecy from happening, then I'm in."Aria remained silent, her piercing gaze scrutinizing me. It was clear she didn't trust me, and I couldn't blame her. Who would believe that I, who had fought so hard alongside Bas, would now betray him?"You don't believe me, and that's fine," I continued, my voice firm. "But those werewolves killed the two most important people in my life. I won't let them

Becca's POV“You promised not to hurt him,” I said, my voice trembling as I stared at Bas. He lay unconscious on the bed, his hands tied to the bed frame while one of the witches snapped photos of him."And as I've told you, I won't hurt him... yet," Aria replied, her hands clenched tightly as she tried to suppress her anger. "Not until I get Darius's head."“Why do you hate the werewolves so much?” I asked, searching her face for answers. She remained quiet, her gaze distant as her jaw tightened. After a moment, she spoke, her voice laced with bitterness. “They killed my best friend. She was the nicest person, and her only crime was being a witch. I remember the night like it was yesterday—their cries for help, the pain and torture. All I could do was watch as they suffered.”Aria's eyes, now fixed on mine, burned with intensity. “Now I have a chance to avenge my friend, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to destroy them. You, of all people, should understand me.”The truth was,

Darius's POV"How the hell!!!" I roared, slamming the werewolf against the wall with all my strength. My hands clenched tightly around his neck, lifting him off the ground. His feet dangled helplessly, his face turning a deep red as he struggled for breath."Is it possible that strong werewolves like you cannot trace a mere witch?" I bellowed, my fury boiling over. The failure was intolerable."We... we tried, but it seems they have some kind of spell making it hard... to trace their scent," he gasped, his voice choked and desperate. My jaw tightened, and I battled with my rage. The instinct to rip his head off surged within me, but Becca's words echoed in my mind: I needed more men in this battle.Reluctantly, I released my grip, and the werewolf crumpled to the ground, gasping for air. I turned away, struggling to rein in my anger. Taking a seat, I felt a rare and bitter sensation—uncertainty. The realization only made me angrier. • Marked by the Moon   Chapter 104

Becca's POVI stared at the big wall clock in the dimly lit witches' coven house, its hands ticking relentlessly. My thoughts were consumed by Bas. Was he safe? Was he suffering? I longed to see him, to know he was alright. But I couldn't afford to show my emotions; every move I made could be scrutinized and used against me."Here," Naomi's voice broke through my thoughts as she placed a glass of juice in front of me."Thanks," I murmured, taking a sip to calm my nerves."Are you worried about Bas?" Naomi's voice was soft, tinged with concern."Of course I am, but... it's a hard decision," I replied, trying to inject sorrow into my tone. "Right now, I need to prioritize myself."The truth was I would never betray Bas. My real goal was to gain Aria's trust and uncover who she truly was. Her stories seemed plausible, but her eyes betrayed no remorse, no emotion, no pain. It made me question the authenticity of her words.Naomi's hand gently touched mine, her expression sympathetic. "The poison won't kill you," I said, my voice steady. "It's just going to make you forever weak. This is your punishment for all the sins you've committed."I turned to leave but stopped in my tracks. No matter how monstrous he was, he was still my father, and I couldn't bring myself to kill him. "Get out of here and never come back. I'll tell the pack I flung your body deep in the sea."This was my last act of kindness, not for the defeated Alpha, but for my father.Suddenly, Darius burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the forest. I turned to look at him. "Oh, as always, you're so weak, boy," he said, managing to get up and resting against a tree. "Do you really think I'll just remain quiet and watch as you jeopardize everything I've worked for? I'll come for you."I turned away, not wanting to see him in this state. He was al

Each tear felt like a dagger to my heart."Promise me... you'll come back," she pleaded, her voice breaking."I promise," I said, wrapping my arms around her.
